Hello all... I was just approved for surgery on 1/3/13, and I have my pre-op evaluation with my Bariatric Surgeon on 12/18/12. I want to make a list of questions and concerns to ask the nurse and doctor. I'm so excited and I just don't want to get to the doctor's office and become clueless on what to ask. I have a few questions in mind but I would like to hear some ideas from people who has already been sleeved or who has already had there pre-op evaluation, or even those who are in the same boat. So let's get a list started...

Well hopefully they will give you an decision before that...do you haves' anticipated date for surgery?

Yes its jan. 3rd...they was goin to schedule it for the dec 28th but that's too soon...

Hey! I got a call from insurance today and I was approved...I'm sorry your case hasn't been approved...maybe is still varies from state to state....

Did you know about the requirements of a 5 year weight history prior to submitting everything in?

Interesting....when I spoke with BcBs they never said anything about having a BMI over 40 for at least 5 years....and I spoke with my BcBs nurse who will be approving or denying the case numerous times about the qualifications....omg I will be so pissed if I get denied! She called me today and said that she has a few more things to look at but she will be calling me sometime by the end of the week. She even told me my anticipated date for surgery of 12/27. So with the up and coming changes what does that mean for your case?

Hey! I just order my vitamins from vitacost and it was 24.00 dollars for my biotin, vitiamin b12, d and d3, calcium citrate, and a multi vitamin. They are all liquid, chewable, gummy or lozengers. Your doctor may require something different, so I would take to them

Personally I feel the same way you do...I've told my "guyfriend", my sister, my dad and a few coworkers. I haven't told my mom yet and I'm debating on if I will. I just don't want to her the negativity, and I don't want to hear all the opinions. Overall, its your decision, people are going to think what they want to think rather you lost weight through exerise and changing eating habits, or sugery. Overall you have to be happy with you, no one else matters. Keep in mind, you can't take it back once you've told someone. So just think about the people who will positively support you and tell them.

I too have PCOS, and my doc says by losing 10% of your current weight will reduce some of the symptoms of PCOS. I haven't had surgery as of yet, but since i've started the process of getting to surgery i've lost 9+ pounds and after not having a period for 6 months, I was able to naturally have one. I'm hoping the sleeve will help reduce my symptoms and allow me to get pregnant, especially since i've already loss one ovary.

I will look into that because Chocolate is my favorite flavor...

I haven't been sleeve yet, but I want to get myself ready for surgery. I am in the process of purchasing some ready to go protein shakes. What taste good, what doesn't? What's your favorite brand and flavors? Has anyone tried Worldwide Sports Nutritions Ultra Pure Protein shake? Are they any good and what flavor do you like?

I was told that today that my packet will be sent to insurance by the end of the week...I really hope and pray that everything goes through...Good luck to everyone else who submitting there packets this week...

I feel your aggravation, I personally been done with my last dietary since 11/12 and I was expecting for my packet to be sent to insurance and it still hasn't been sent yet. The bariatric office is making me take a sleep study (this Thursday) and another session with the psychologist (tomorrow). I'm really hoping this is the last steps because i'm just ready to get this show on the road...I really hope everything goes smoothly through out the rest of your process...I know at the end it will be worth it.

I am the overachiever...I go to school, work, and everything in between. I love people and I love to have fun. In my free time, I love to shop and catch up on sleep (that's my favorite). I too like many other women on this site suffer from PCOS. I hope that this sugery will one day help me create my family on my own ( with out medicaiton and etc).

I can't wait to drop some of these pounds...so I can drop it like its hot and pick it back up...lol I try to do that now I'm just going to end up stopping, dropping and rolling...lol. I just wanted to be picked up, I don't want to have to pick up my stomach to move it out the way....lol

I asked the scheduling nurse at Riverside if had surgeries available still for Decemeber and November they said they have a few, so I'm hoping to scheduled soon. I'm playing the waiting game now...
