  3. Thank you so much for your feedback. I am so glad to know I am not alone. Day 1 and its been hard, I have a headache and an empty stomach, but you are right, it will all be worth it.
  4. This is going to be hard. I have never done anything like this without having some type of appetite supressent. But, I will stick to it and I am hoping it goes by fast. I did go and have my "last supper" last ***ht, it included chocolate moulton cake from Chili's....I know bad, but I am pretty sure it will be a LONGGGGG time before I ever taste it again. Did anyone else have a last supper? I hope Im not alone!

  7. Hi, I totally understand where you are all coming from too. I am 4'11" and when I gain 5 pounds, it looks like 15 on a tall person. I have tried it all. Phen-Phin, lost 65 pounds, wore a size 2, gained it all back plus. Worked out, dieted, 600 calories a day, phentermine again (no one bothered to wonder if it was addective)..so long story short. I am now 49, I weigh the most I have ever weighed 183. My own PCP even said, you dont look it, but I do. I was lucky, my insurance approved it very quickly and my surgery is August 15th. I am nervious, I am scared and I am so ready to start a new life for me!. With the love and support from my husband and a couple of close friends, I really believe this is going to be it for me. I start the 2 week liquid tomorrow. I wish all of you luck and much happiness and look forward to hearing all of your success stories. Dawn

  11. I will be at Presbyterian Main too. I will have a date today. My insurance has already approved it. Dr. Lowe will be doing my surgery. I hope we get a chance to meet!.
  12. How are you doing? Congratulations and I hope your feeling well. I will have my date tomorrow, and I am excited, scared, nervious...but ready!. Hope your doing well.
  13. Hi, Alot of insurance companies do cover wls. Most require something, BMI Of 40 or more or BMI over 35 and have hypertension, sleep apnea, diabetes etc. If you meet their requirements, but they wont cover at your local hospital, perhaps they will cover at another hospital. Most insurance compnaies have websites that you can register at and log in to see what requirements they have. I would definately check out all your available resources in the US before having to go to Mexico.
  14. This is all such good news!!!!...

  16. I totally understand. I get nervous at least once a day, followed by excited than shame...its a roller coaster ride. But I am ready, and I have alot of support and I really know I can do and so can you. Yes, its a personal journey, but a good one!
  17. We should all definately keep in touch and maybe at some point meet. The more support the better. Good luck with your surgery. Who is y our Dr? Where will you have surgery? Best of luck Dawn
  18. If I do anymore research Ill be able to do the surgery on myself!!. How are you dealing with your new look? Are you finding it difficult? It seems post op maybe harder than pre-op.
  19. I just got my approval letter on Monday of this week so I am still waiting for a date. My surgeon is Dr Carl Lowe with carolina surgical. We need to keep in touch! Good Luck to you
  20. I am pre-op, just wondering if anyone is from the Charlotte or surrounding area.
  21. Good for you!. No one knows better what your body needs than you and she really has some nerve talking to the trainer about you!. Some people have no boundries. I have told the HR person here at my office and my friend the office manager (Both are going to do the pre-op liquied diet with me as support!) I am not quite sure yet what to tell my boss (I work with 4 men) He knows I have been going to alot of Dr. appointments and has asked if Im ok. Well, I'm OK, but I'm FAT and I have high blood pressure, I have inflated diabetes numbers etc, but Im not going to tell him that. My HR person said, you dont have to tell him, just say your having surgery and will be out for two weeks, end of story. Anyone else have a suggestion? Thanks
  22. Hi I'm a newbie today too. My name is Dawn and I live in North Carolina. It is great to be able to hear from others all the same and crazy things that I am feeling and going through. I have only told 4 people I'm not sure if I should be ashamed or excited. I just received my approval letter this week so I am waiting for a date, I have to say this insurance process went a lot faster than I thought it would. I look forward to hearing all your stories, successes and tips. I'll be 50 in April and I want to tuen it as a new me! Thanks for listening
