  1. August 24th is my surgery date! Just got the good news a bit ago!
  2. Congratulations. I am so hoping this will happen for me too!!!
  3. I know it will happen, its just I need to know what the insurance will pay so I know what we have to pay so we can save it up or get a loan..the point is, I was told by the doctor that it would be submitted within a couple days of my last appt. Which was on the 12th...I was a good girl & didn't bug them....guess I should have though!
  4. As of yesterday, surgeons office couldn't locate my chart/file...today got email from them stating they located my chart. Dr. Dunshee had it and had discussed my case with his partners. We are awaiting dictation, then we will submit to insurance. They''ll let me know next week when they submit it. So here for the past 2 weeks I thought I was waiting to hear from insurance and they haven't even sent it off yet! So...at the rate they're going, it will probably be another 2 weeks or more before I hear anything.....Grrrrrrrr

Today I had my first real NSV (for me anyway) I was able to walk to the end of the street & back without any rest breaks (that's a first!) Total of 8 blocks...1 week out of surgery! I know I couldn't have done that before surgery...cause I tried many times!
  6. Welcome Matt & Best of luck to you! Love this forum! I'm pre-op myself...just waiting on insurance approval...sigh....LOL
  7. I was told my stay would be 1 night.
  8. I gave this list to my husband...but doubt he's read it
  9. Great list!! Most of the above for me, and also cutting my own toenails!
  10. Ok I think I found you this time...lol My appt with the surgeon went well yesterday, may be able to have the surgery in 4-8 weeks. Waiting on insurance approval now, said that would take 2 days to 2 weeks...sigh...so impatient! LOL
  11. Lord I hope so! Mine has been MIA for a very LONG time!
  12. Sending prayers & healing energies to both of you!
  13. I have my 2nd visit with the surgeon today...not sure what its about, but hope to have a surgery date soon also! Good luck!!!
  14. You can do it!! And anytime you need an ear, I'm right here!
  15. Grrrrrrrr I hate it when facebook changes stuff...try this link...maybe that will work... http://www.facebook.com/tammy.ansley
  16. I go back to the surgeon tomorrow afternoon, and I'm kinda nervous (2nd visit, not sure what to expect). Working on my list of questions I want to ask, so of course my mind is blank...LOL
  17. Wow glad to hear you got a surgery date!! If yours is October, mine will probably be November I was hoping it would be sooner, but oh well. Whatever it takes! If you need a 'buddy' I'm on facebook & yahoo IM!
  18. I went to a weight loss surgery seminar on April 14th, 2012. I quit smoking that day using the patches. I had really hoped it would help with my breathing issues, but haven't noticed a difference there (maybe after I lose a ton of weight I will though!) I still have days I really want to smoke, but know in order for me to have surgery, I have to stay off them. I smoked for over 30 years, so I know how hard it is. I go back for the second surgeon visit tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get approved for surgery! Good luck to you!
  19. I got back to the surgeon on Tuesday, then they'll submit everything to insurance & hopefully I'll find out what the out of pocket will be...still saving up for that..may get a loan depending on how much it is. I noticed from your profile we have a lot of similarities! That's awesome, especially since I know very few people around here
  20. welittle1: having surgery at St Francis in Topeka, Drs McAllister & Dunshee from TallGrass is doing the surgery (no date yet though)
  21. Terry, I know Iola well, late husband's family was from Savonburg & Iola
