  1. Peaches or pineapple. I always buy them with juice instead of syrup and put a little bit of the juice on it too.
  2. I'm hardly drinking any broth at all.
  3. Well, I went to my Pre-Op appointment and I only lost about a pound and a half, I was so disappointed. And worried that they might think I didn't do the Pre-Op diet. I only has one small cheat - a small Greek salad.
  4. I know what you mean. I lost my keys and can't find them. Luckily, I found a spare key.
  5. Yes, plenty of fluids and vitamins
  6. I am doing exactly what they said 4-5 protein shakes (Bariatric Advantage), have even cut back on the sugar free popsicles and jello and it doesn't seem like I'm losing weight - either that or my scale is broke. My NUT says if you don't lose at least 9 or 10 lbs in the Pre-Op diet they will assume you didn't do it. Well, I've been on it a whole week and I only seem to have lost about 3 lbs - what could be the problem?
  7. Well, I got through day 6 of the diet, I am not as hungry. On day 4 I cheated just a bit and had a small Greek salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, feta cheese and dressing. I don't suppose that is too bad though. I think I've only lost about 4 lbs though.
  8. Houston is finally getting some Trader Joe's Stores.
  9. My NUT said that if it gives you a lot of gas that you probably shouldn't be eating it. I suppose that's true for sweets and dairy but not so sure that applies to vegetables like broccoli or cabbage.
  10. Do some resistance exercises and also try swimming. Maybe that will tighten it up some.
  11. I think possibly, it could be that those of us who are a little diabetic are experiencing lowered blood sugar levels that while more normal, are low for us. I don't have really high blood sugar ever, my A1C is just a little above what is normal. I'm guessing some of us are experiencing 85 or 90 blood sugars and we aren't used to it. Our bodies are experiencing "low blood sugar" or what our bodies see as low blood sugar. After all my blood sugar usually stays between 110-125 and then goes up after a meal depending on the type of meal. After Mexican food I've had 179. I would imagine Bariatric Advantage doesn't raise it much from no food.
  12. I'm also hungry, weak and tired feeling. I'm on day 4. I'm having 4 Bariatric Advantage protein shakes a day. I'm eating probably 10 sugar free popsicles a day. What's worse is having to cook for others and sit there while they eat. When do we get used to this?
  13. Girl, go get you a massage or have your nails done!
  14. Well, if you have a job where you sit all day you might work the guilt angle a little bit.
  15. Well, I'm on day 3 of my Pre-Op diet and I'm so hungry. Been eating the hell out of Sugar-free popcicles, jello and low sodium broth and decaffeinated ice tea. But I'm not going to cheat. Four more days till my Pre-Op appointment and then 7 more till surgery.
  16. I would still look for a new job but I would make it clear that you needed some time mid-November tentatively starting on November 12th and lasting about 2 weeks. You can just say it's personal business or whatever. If they hire you with that provision they should be willing to honor it when the time comes.
  17. I think I'll be ok, I've been drinking Premier Protein shakes for 2 meals a day for 4 or 5 days a week for that last few weeks so this shouldn't be much harder.
  18. Tomorrow I start the "Dreaded Two-Week Liquid Pre-Op Diet". But I'm ready. I have my protein drinks, my sugar-free Popsicles and gelatin and my chicken broth. I mostly have been eating two meals a day like this already. Next week on e 19th is my Pre-Op appointment and then surgery on the 26th.
  19. Finally scheduled for surgery September 26 with Dr. Yu in Houston. Start my 2 week pre-op diet Wednesday. I am past ready for this. I have been ready for several weeks. Now things will start to be fast. I have my pre-op exam on Sept 19th.
  20. Well, they needed a letter of medical necessity and a medical release from my PCP and she sent it as one letter and they only counted it as the release.
  21. My insurance approved me and I'm waiting for them to schedule my pre-op appointment and my surgery!!
  22. Now I'm anxiously waiting for them to schedule me. How long does it usually take to get the surgery after you are approved. My doctor has a 2 week pre-op diet so I assume it will be at least 2 weeks from now but since I haven't gotten the call to be scheduled I'm not sure when that will start.
  23. Yay! Finally, I got a call from my doctor's coordinator and they sent it in and got disapproved and then they fixed something and after they sent it back in it was approved in about a week. Now I am waiting for the call to get my preop and surgery scheduled. They changed my doctor though because apparently Dr. Scarborough is out of network and Dr. Yu is in network so he will be doing the surgery.
  24. I like the Carbmaster - just wish they would make the Mixed Berry in Carbmaster. Kroger has a good Lite Yogurt also that is 80 calories but not low carb and I love the Mixed Berry - usually get the Carbmaster and then get a few Kroger Lite Mixed Berry also.
