  1. I don't plan on eating chips anytime soon BUT if i find a Dorito in front of me i might not be strong enough to not lick it... just sayin =)
  2. I only though about backing out after it was done. Monday and Tuesday were terrible. Today has been better especially if i stay on top of my pain and spasm meds. I was very nauseated in the hospital but have only used phenergan once since being home. I'm using commercials to remind me to sip and use my incentive spirometer. I didn't write a letter.. but had a long talk with the husband about making sure my son knew how much i love him. And made sure he knew where the paperwork for my life insurance policies where. I have to keep my drain in until next wednesday... i really hate it. I can feel the suction of it. Really looking forward to feeling better because right now I'd rather be fat than feel like this. I know in a week I will feel the exact opposite.
  3. I'm home now and feeling a bunch better. I can only tolerate 2 sips at a time of my protein water before i feel very full. I was walking every two hours at hospital because i had to pee that often. Now at home I'm glad to rest more in between. I can't stand to even think of food/ or broth yet. My husband tried telling me what he ate for lunch and i begged him to stop... made me nauseated. And i didn't realize how often tv advertised food.... =/
  4. I had surgery yesterday. I am absolutely miserable! My stomach spasms evertime i drink and I'm so nauseated. And I'm already sick of this drain. It helps seeing y'all feeling better. I've never felt so bad.
  5. OMG.... I can hardly keep my eyes open. Haven't had any meds in about 6 hours. Not as bad as I expected. I woke up! That was my biggest fear... dying. The worst part is the dry mouth! I've never experienced it this bad. Makes me sip good though. I need to go potty but I'm scared to move that much. My nurses have been great! So glad it's over. Guess I'm gonna attempt to go pee... ugh
  6. I'm sitting in the waiting room. If there was anything in my stomach I'd be in trouble. Here goes!
  7. Around twelve hours left for me. It's really strange.. I was so nervous a week ago. Now I'm just ready. Today I cooked my husband and son enough food to get them through the week. All the greats... Cheesy Chicken Spaghetti, Chicken Enchiladas, Some hamburger meat for Hamburger Helper. Things we really never eat... and ya know what? I didn't even want a bite. It'll probably hit me in the morning and I'll be a nervous wreck but right now... I'm ok. Best of luck tomorrow.. Let's change our lives!
  8. Me too. I'm headed to work with my little baggy of jello and pudding and protein... yum =\
  9. Guess I was lucky. I didn't have to have a referral. When it came time to get my H&P and wt loss history I just dropped a copy of my insurance requirements by her office and told her what I needed. I've been seeing the same NP for the past 5 years and have done an extensive weight loss program with her (obviously it wasn't as successful as we wanted). I provided her all my information and weights/measurements from the boot camp I attended for over a year. She added it all together in a typed up letter and faxed it to my surgeon. She's seen how I've tried to do this on my own and gave me her full support (and she's a skinny/tiny girl!)
  10. I'm on the 27th too! I will finish my one week low fat diet on sunday and start my full liquid diet monday. My doctor says one night in hospital and i should be released around noon the next day. I am kinda worried about being able to drink enough. Actually considered trying to convince them to let me keep my IV and some extra fluids just in case. The nurse in me wants to take the easy way out. =) After surgery.. my NUT handbook says clear liquid -1 week... full liquid... one week... then mushies but my doctors book says I can try full liquid on the 3rd day and mushies within a week. I think I'm gonna stick with liquids based on everything I've learned on here. I am SO ready!
  11. Omg I was just thinking that chips and dips is what I'm gonna miss the most! Top weight 262 Current 252... surgery on 8/27 Goal 165
  12. Please add me to the list. August 27th Dr Zizzi in Louisiana I'm so ready!
  13. Please add me to the list. August 27th Dr Zizzi in Louisiana I'm so ready!
  14. I'm done! Didn't even know it happened. I woke up thinking i had dropped my bite block... lol, i was in recovery. The propofol burned. I tried to count in my head but cannot remember what number i got to... probably not even 5. My throat is not sore at all. I'm a little wobbly. He said i had mild reflux but should be fine with two weeks of prescription Prilosec. Surgery still on for 27th!
  15. I'm feeling the versed. Waiting my turn.
  16. I'm waiting to go back for my EGD. =/ Will update....
  17. Mine is tomorrow at 7am. I'm a nurse and have circulated on many EGDs so I was freaked too. But the hospital I worked at didn't give you the good stuff until after you swallowed the scope! The surgery center assured me I would be asleep before that point though.
  18. I did, I did! And I do hate them! But I want before and afters so I will just hide them away for now.
  19. BCBS of NC here... it took 4 weeks to get approval (found out on the 7th) met with surgeon on the 9th, surgery is the 27th just so i had time to do my 2 week diet. It was really quick once i got my approval!
  20. I have BCBS and I was very worried about being denied because my BMI hasn't been >40 the whole past 5 years (I've done boot camp and Dr assisted diets and lost to below 40). BCBS had to have a H&P from my primary doctor listing any health issues and my weight/weight loss attempt history. They also sent back the first submission because I hadn't had an "official" appt with my surgeon (he usually waits until after approval for that). We re-submitted around July 5. I received a phone call on the 7th, while i was out of town, from the surgeon's office saying I was approved. When I got home I found a letter saying I had been denied! But turns out they just hadn't got all of the fax from the doctors office. Next day my approval letter came! I hope you hear back soon and good luck!
  21. Hi! I'm 29 and I'm scheduled for Aug 27th. I'm 260# and 5'6" I am also looking for someone to help me through this life changing process!
  22. West Monroe here. Surgery scheduled for Aug 27th with Dr. Zizzi at Ouachita Surgical. Thinking I'm gonna be a nervous wreck!
