3 months down and 60 lbs later. I feel like a whole new person. Life has never been so amazing. I seriously doubted my decision the first month. It was the hardest season of my life so far. But so so SO worth it. And I'm no where near where I need to be yet!!!

Here is my before shot and after shot. My one year mark is this Friday, March 7th. I have lost over 100 pounds. I was a size 22, now I'm down to a size 2,3. I feel great. I work out almost every day and I thank God every day for this surgery.

I'd like to at least see and feel what "too small" may be like! If I don't like it...I'm an expert at gaining weight, I already know that!

STOP IT!!!! (slap slap slap) You ok now??
That said...you probably didn't damage anything as long as you chewed the life out of it. Just don't do it again.... Now go put your big boy pants on and behave...

NOOOOOO!!!! Don't do it. This is a very hotly debated topic on whether or not carbonation will stretch your sleeve. My surgeon forbids it because of that. The way I see it...if something is going to endanger the effectiveness of my sleeve...it's GONE!! I was a serious soda addict, but I don't care now that I have given it up. The craving is gone. There is no redeeming features to it anyway. Anything that can clean battery acid off of car parts? hehe...ya....lose it!!

I went to NH for my best friend's wedding and I gotta say that I had an AMAZING time! Sleeve wise I was very, very bad... I drank, I smoked (I was drinking, it happens) I ate food smothered in rich creamy sauces, I savored wedding hordevours, tasted a bite of wedding cake, and danced my much smaller a$$ off! I actually did better with the food thing than I thought I would though - I stayed away from the pastas and breads and most of the sweets, and focused mainly on the Proteins and veggies, even if they were prepared in the least healthy way possible, I did the best I could with the options in front of me. Everything in moderation though, right?
The best part of my trip was seeing my ex for the first time in 5 years. He's gained the 80lbs I've lost since pre-op and when he saw me in my LBD (pics to come soon) his jaw dropped. That was all I needed And of course he told me he felt bad for the way things ended, though I'm *pretty* sure it was because his new girlfriend isn't half as attractive as me and has a face only a mother could love. It's mean, I know, but it makes me feel better damnit! LOL
Anyways, great trip! I'll post pics as soon as they're sent to me

i will only speak for myself - my dr.did not require a pre-op diet, I wish he had.
Those last couple of weeks pre-op i ate like there was no tomorrow In my book, you are not alone. Some others probably might have ate alot before surgery, most people are good, trying to lose weight before surgery.
Boo Hoo for what I did, but to be truthful i enjoyed every last bite
    oh well

    Hello everyone,
I have been thinking about WLS for a few years now. I work out a ton and how found my self on the diet train for far to long. I am going to have my surgery done on June 13th and I would love any advice anyone would have for me. I will be traveling alone to TJ. I am orginally from Southern Cali so I spent many time in TJ when I was under 18, I am not worried about the travel, just waking up and not having anyone there with you.
    Well thats all for now:)

I understand your feelings completely. I am on the end of week 2 of the pre op diet and nervouse about the broth phase for 3 days. HOWEVER the fact that I celebrate each day I have succeeded on this 2 week journey gives me the umpf!! to keep going. Last night I was so sick of protein shakes that I just have chicken broth for dinner. the hot liquid and flavor change is all i needed. Don't drive yourself crazy - it goes by fast! Lots of luck. May 7 is my big day

In my opinion it was easier to follow ur diet after surgery than before. Don't beat urself up too much about it. You'll do it after surgery because then I won't have a choice.

I've been very positive up until this point. I've had the exemplary recovery. No puking, Minimal pain, and i can handle ANYTHING (no nausea) i put in my sleeve. Somethings sit a little heavier (discomfort) than others and I feel a little discomfort when i drink too much at once. Ok to the mourning part lol. My mom and I went to Jasons deli today where i got a cup of chili. I was only able to eat like 3 spoons before i started feeling discomfort ..... The amount is not the issue, well yes it is,, well IDK lol.. I know ill never be a buffet queen again but i just want to be NORMAL again. Ya know eat what i want IN MODERATION and gulp a nice cold powerade without feeling like its going to power through my chest. I guess i dont know what the issue is .. Maybe its my darn hormones .. I just miss food.. i find myself slightly regretting my surgery. and not for the reason that i thought. The surgery itself and recovery are fine.. I regret not being able to STUFF my face on command ..ok im through Rambling hopefully somebody understands what im going through. I just want to be normal again

Yep. It's those hormones a raging. Once you lose weight, they start flowing the way they're supposed to. Every time I start losing, I chase my hubby around the house like a crazy woman. I can't wait for that to kick in again!!

Well today is 1 year since my surgery- It has been the hardest year of my life!!! I have lost about 125lbs and went from a size 24/26 to a size 10/12. I offically know what it is like to feel comfortable in my skin, to have people look at me like "you've never had a weight problem", to have people (family) not recognize me, to go shopping and just buy things or actually have fun trying things on, it has made my relationship better with my husband, it has showed me who were really my friends, and all of that because I made a choice to do something for ME and not anyone else. It has had it's down side, hair loss, Vitamin deficiency problems and going in for shots monthly, throwing up, wishing I could eat (I am an emotional eater), throwing up, (I know I said that twice- but I woke up from surgery throwing up and have had issues with it ever since). THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE AND I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS EXCEPT THAT I DIDN"T DO IT SOONER!!!!!

You're twenties are potentially some of the best years of your life. My mom didn't want me to get the sleeve due to safety concerns. Not to be a totally lame, but I quoted Steel Magnolias. I told her that I would rather have a couple minutes if wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special. It took her some time and research until she was on board. Now she is very supportive and I am so grateful.
