  1. Hello all, I was sleeved on March 2nd. Almost 4 weeks out and feeling great. Down 24 pounds since surgery, down 43 pounds since start of the two week liquid diet.
  2. Scopolamine Patches will dilate your eyes anyway, especially on the side the patch is placed on. I use them to relax on long plane flights and it always looks funny the next day with one pupil dilated huge!
  3. And remember they pumped you full of fluids and this is a major shock to your body. Hang in there!
  4. Go on YouTube and find Lonelyisland's "Just had Sex" and play it really loud!
  5. I am 3 weeks today and on Tuesday of this week, I gained 2 pounds!! Overnight last night I lost 5 pounds! I can't explain what my body is doing, but I accept it and the math- calorie deficit will lead to a loss.
  6. Just remember there may be a few rough patches, but think of all the advantages. If you have been subservient to food your whole life, for once you will be its master!
  7. Well that won't work, can't do without my color, I refuse to be an "old" 38!
  8. My instructions had a few sample foods, but is not clear. For example, I can have a potato. I assumed that was any kind of potato, no, it only included white potatoes, not sweet potato. I just wished the sample foods were as complete as other plans I have seen on the Internet so I am not calling the NUT constantly and being treated like I am a pain. Their materials are written for the lowest common denominator and very child like.
  9. 14 days and on solid food?? I have a loooong way to go, I am in mushyville on day 18.
  10. Thanks, I just picture my stomach splitting open like a Gallagher watermelon if I eat one bite too much or eat something 5 minutes earlier than I should. My instructions were a little thin.
  11. I am paranoid because of all the different timeframes doctor's use.
  12. I always get sick from surgery so I told them to light me up, I didn't want to wake up sick. The last thing I remember (rather embarrassingly) was saying "yeehaw" as they were pushing the gurney from holding and then waking up. maybe asking for extra anti anxiety drugs were a bad idea.....
  13. I lost 20 pounds before surgery and at 18 days out, it is dropping off.
  14. You will be fabulous!! If you feel weak coming back, don't hesitate to ask the airline for wheelchair service! You won't be as bumped and you won't feel weak and overheated getting through the airport.
  15. When were you allowed to have deli shaved turkey in your diet progression?? What about cooked and then raw veggies? cheese?
  16. Nut is nutritionist....kind of appropriate! While you are in the hospital your doctor will leave orders for an anti nausea medicine such as Zofran or Phenigren, you may be nauseated after surgery. Before you can have liquids, you have to have a leak test where you have to drink a bubbly nasty drink (not much thankfully) and swallow so they can be sure you don't have a leak where the contents of your stomach are leaking into your body cavity.
  17. Right there with you, such a nasty smell!
  18. Glad this was asked. I am 18 days out and can only get about 1-1.5 oz at a time And I was wondering if/when I would have a tad more room.
  19. Hi all, I am 18 days out. Put your jitters aside! I was pleasantly surprised at how "easy" the surgery was. My big advice- make sure you have an anti-nausea drug dose before you go down to have your leak test. The stuff is nasty, your throat is dry and it may make you feel sick. Also make sure you have one for the car ride home. I am on softs, my doctor is conservative so I am on blenderized oatmeal, soft cooked eggs, low fat creamed Soups. It's getting old, but for the first time in my life, I am not starving!! I do not do well at getting Protein, I get about 45 grams a day. My NUT says it's not great, but will be okay until I can have shaved deli meat next week. Best of luck to you all!! The pay off- -20 pounds in 18 days!!
  20. Right there with you, mine was on the 2nd, and I am dragging!! Still can't get in all my protein
  21. Hi! I am just over a week out and I am in the same boat. I can't stand protein drinks, Isopure is tolerable most the time if I force it. It is comforting to know I am not the only one. :-)
  22. URG, I am at around 40 grams using Isopure. I can have cloudy drinks starting Saturday so I should be able to increase to my 65 grams. I started my nasty Opurity Bariatric Vitamins.
  23. Hi LadyL, good luck to you! I have been very happy with the VSG and you are smart to combat your weight before a health crisis. Best wishes!
