I put a tsp or so in my coffee every morning, I put a dab in my palms and use as face cream before bed, I make popcorn with it, I use it for hair conditioner, I've made homemade deodorant, I bake with it, I make candy with it, we use as a personal lubricant, good for diaper rash, can use with cloth diapers, Just Bing it. There are websites that tout the goodness. It is good for you. It is a MCO (Medium chain oil)and is good for the body. I swear it helps reduce the hot flashes. Linda

Get the good stuff. I buy it by the gallon direct from the company. Nutiva- organic extra virgin coconut oil. I signed up for their Tuesday special to be emailed, and last week was a gallon for $50.00 and free shipping. Saved over 17.00. We use a lot of oil.

Birthdays are only 1x a year. You did what I would have done. We also have to live life, even with the sleeve. I just know it's not a daily thing or weekly for that matter. It keeps me going knowing I don't have to do the "all or nothing" dieting anymore. We can relax- not to much but enjoy life too. Good Luck Linda

I love salads but they fill me up for hours. I have to stick with solid protein to get my nutrition in. Only so many hours in a day to get the good stuff in. Linda

I just told our kids I was going to nursing conference in San Diego. (There was actually one at the time) My husband dropped me off at the airport and went to my youngest dtr and built her a new bathroom. Flew home, hubby picked me up at the airport and home we went. When I was in Mexico they have a phone in the room and house to call the USA. Worked out well. Remember there are others that are having surgery and getting picked up at the same time. I've been on the boards a lot the past few weeks, and from what I read I would suggest not to say anything to anyone. For me the only person that knows is my hubby of 31 years. It works for me.

How is everyone doing? I'm sober since Feb5 2013. `7 months. Never thought I would be a drunk but I know I can't touch the stuff anymore. Made it to goal a week ago. and am working on maybe another 5-10# lower leeway. Doing my eating from noon to 8 pm daily. I like this I don't go to bed stuffed. Occ. will be hungry but I sleep much better. If I have cravings for alcohol I will just take my L-glutamine and I'm good. I don't go to meetings I'm doing this on my own w/ help from these forums. Lets keep this forum alive. Linda

I was going to write what ali above wrote. The stomach part that remains after a sleeve is attached to our insides and doesn't twist. Only bypass pts have twisted bowel and can be life threatening.

Ok- How many of us have tried the "cut 300 calories per day and lose all this weight diet" Just another one of many tried done that before. If that worked we all would be thin. Oh please drs' out there many of us just can not continue to "diet" our way to healthy. The sleeve is very safe and is a tool we use to lose the excess and gain so much more. I live in a town where WLS is over 2 hours away. Not really marketed in our area. Good Luck and find a dr who will support you with the decision on surgery.

Your calorie intake at the beginning is maybe 200 calories and goes to 500 calories. you don't have enough to share at that point. It would be sad to have your health in jeopardy, your new one needs a healthy mom. Good Luck with what you choose. But there is a reason the dr looked at you funny.

It sounds like your tummy is a little raw yet. Are you on a PPI (like protonix) that might help with the extra acid. Good Luck
