  2. i didn't need any pain meds, but everyone is different.
  3. You only need to worry about it if they are using antiquated technology from the 70's or early 80's. I removed what jewelry was possible. I left my white gold ring on, and nipple rings in. Even in other surgeries I left my 000ga prince albert in, and that's with a catheter in place as well!
  4. Not too concern about hair loss since I shave my head anyways. Now that I'm 2 months out, my my 9"+ beard has grown 3"+ inches. When I was much younger I could easily grow it 20", but suspect that being 330lbs interfered somehow. anyone else experienced this?
  5. Three Muskateers was my sin. Just thinking about one made me crave it, but now it and other sweets don't even remotely phase me.
  6. Immediately after surgery I craved for fried rice. Recently integrated mustard into my meals again and discovered it has a whole new flavor for me now. While not a craving, but before surgery splenda tasted like a chemical, afterwards it tastes just like sugar.
  7. I use my phone and keep track of the time, about a bite or two a minute. Doing something while eating definitely helps makes it easier to pass the time. The real trick is to understand what your portion size is before you begin to eat. For me, hamburger patty and a couple slices of cheese on top will result in about a bite or two not eaten. So even if I do eat fast, that fullness will come on within the next 20 minutes.
  8. it comes on quicker, but it's effects wear off even quicker (at least for me).
  9. Yeah The Foundation hospital totally rocks, wish more places were like this.
  10. On my first real bowel movement after 3 days of diarrhea, big clumps of blood plopped out. My doc said it was the result of surgery, haven't had it since.
  11. not to mention you need to be careful that you aren't replacing one addiction with another at such an early stage when your body is used to getting loads of calories.
  12. Another one here, and just got freshly sleeved. I ride a Honda VTX 1300 w/ full gear no matter what time of the year. Even tho I'm only 4 weeks out, most of my gear is too big for me already (boots, gloves, jacket).
  13. I waited a week before mounting my vtx 1300. Rode around a bit in the parking lot to ensure I would be able to pull the bike out of a situation if necessary.
