  1. You could put your ring on a chain and wear it around your neck?
  2. I'd been thinking about a nipple piercing... I hadn't even thought of seatbelts!! I've got time though. I'm certainly not getting a nipple pierced until my boobs are in the right place!

This might help you; Battling California's Wildfires Pasadena is right near Los Angeles, which is currently not affected from anything I could find. I just recently moved from LA, and my family is all down there, so I've been keeping an eye on it.
  4. Interesting. Probably not for me tho. Only my ears are pierced right now. I want to get the cartalidge(sp) part of my ear done (been putting that off forever, for no reason). I've had my tongue pierced, but I took it off for my surgery and never put it back in. I have had my belly button pierced, but basically, I was too fat for it to heal right, so it's another mini goal now

I have 3. One on my right ankle on the inside which is the Japanese character for eternity. The 2nd is on the outside of my other ankle and is a gem with kind of a funky casing (I have no idea how to describe it). The 3rd is on my right shoulder blade, and is a flower with the initials SJ. Those are my first and middle initials, and also the first and middle initials of my 2 younger sisters. My mom got one with our initials, that has 3 flowers.
  6. Yummie; if you are still dealing with issues with your father, pick up a book called "Toxic Parents". Someone else mentioned that book somewhere else in the forums and I picked it up. I haven't finished it yet, but it's helping. And you can apply a lot of that stuff to your husband, since he seems to have the same behaviors of your father. I have no idea what your situation is like, but I'm not sure why you need to wait to get skinny to leave your husband if you are already planning on it. It sounds like he's going to be a major sabatour (sp).
  7. LOL. I've been corrected on the spelling of 'yens'. I forgot about things like "It don't matter". Yeesh.
  8. Jacqui, you really should stop holding back and tell us how you really feel. My goal is between 140 and 155 which is within "healthy" for my height and whatnot. I've told myself that when I get to 160 I will re-evaluate and see what I think. I do think that "healthy weight" is something that should be taken with a grain of salt. My sister weighs 125 or so right now I think, and I know that I would not look good at that weight. Her and I have different builds, she holds NO weight in her chest, whereas I do, etc. But I think 140 would be good and healthy.
  9. I was shocked to see it in the news, but I thought it might make an interesting conversation topic here. Like you, I don't really care.
  10. There are just SO MANY THINGS to hate about driving. Slow people in the fast lane, tailgaters when you ARE going fast (especially when you're only in the passing late to PASS someone, and intend to move over, buy you still aren't fast enough for them. OLD PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO ADMIT THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN THEIR CAR!!!!!!!!! California is evidently piloting a program where your reflexes and eyesight (peripheral, not just the chart on the wall) will be tested. They expect this will help get around the age discrimination issues. My DH says the biggest problem is they'll give anyone who wants one a license, and they never take them away. I have one friend who failed the written test 3 times, and then once she passed that, she failed the driving test 3 times before she got a license. I love my friend, but they should make you wait a certain amount of time after you fail the test 3 times before you can take it again. In CA once you fail 3 times you have to pay the $12 or whatever it is again, but you can try again as soon as an appt is available.
  11. Dumbledore’s outing gives text new meaning - books - MSNBC.com So, evidently some reader asked JK Rowling a question (what was asked is not in the article), that prompted her to explain that Dumbledore is gay. The article links to a discussion hosted on MSNBC for people's thoughts on the subject. Not that we'll ever know for sure, but if in JK's original thoughts about her universe of characters this was always the case, I have no issue with her 'outing' her character. There is speculation that she basically made it up as a stunt to get more publicity, which could be true as well. There were a number of comments in the MSNBC discussion forum where people said they'd owned the books and seen the movies, but would be getting rid of the books and would ban the movies from their house now that JK has said this about Dumbledore. I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on the subject, but especially if there is anyone of this opinion, I'd like to hear the logic behind it. The words in the books have not changed, and how Dumbledore is portrayed has not changed, so... why? I personally don't care what the sexuality of any of the characters are, and seeing as it's not a big part of the story for a large number of the characters, it's fine that it hasn't been said outright, but like I said, if it's REALLY part of the original Dumbledore she thought up, I don't think it's that big a deal. Especially since she evidently made it a point to leave it out of the books altogether. So... R&R away... heh
  12. A place has the option to honor or not honor a card like a lapband card. You might do well to just call places ahead of time and ask whether they do, vs showing up and not knowing and being told no. Then you have the option of whether or not you go there at all.
  13. One thing you need to understand is that your weight is going to fluctuate. For me, this means that when I say that I weigh a certain weight, it actually means I've seen that weight on the scale a number of times, and I bounce between that and probably about 7 lbs higher. So, 199 really means 199 through 206 is what I see on the scale. The scale went up a few lbs, but you did not gain that much fat, you know?
  14. I don't have Verizon, but I'll be watching for similar behavior from AT&T. Yikes...
  15. I'm not trying to say you shouldn't be frustrated. I'm just try to say it's not as slow as it seems to be.
  16. Wheetsin, if that thread is still around, could you link me to it?
  17. Cold gets me to. Even more solid things, I do better if the meal is hot... which of course kind of sucks, since it takes me forever to eat a reasonable sized meal (more than 6 bites of anything).
  18. I don't think you are bragging by having that info in your sig... but you DO have EVERY right to brag!! You've had great success, and you should be very proud!
  19. Thenume, That's 4 lbs a week. You really need to keep in mind that everyone loses differently, especially in the first month. It's not going to disappear overnight, you know?
  20. Lots and lots of people do. It was a long time before I saw the loss in the mirror. And when I lose weight now, it's a long time before I see that in the mirror too.
  21. You have GOT to be kidding me?! To the note about this being a support forum; of course it is, but at the same time... I think we're all just a little floored by the amount of people who seem to be making such a huge decision with so little knowledge going into it. And what gets me, is that lots of people go into all of their major decisions this way...
  22. Ouch. Mine is: Suicidal Failure With my maiden name: Babel's Outcast OMG... using first and middle: Evil Labia My husband is: Dead fart LMAO that so fits.
  23. Lauren, You could call the cops on your neighbor... the cops wont tell her who called to complain, only that there was a complaint and she needs to keep it down. I know this, because I called on my neighbor once. I had just moved into this place and the very first Saturday morning at 8am she starts BLASTING her music. Seriously, it sounded like the speakers were in MY living room. I tried to bang on her door, but she couldn't hear it. The cops show up and finally manage to get her attention and tell her she has to keep it down. I called on her probably half a dozen other times too. The one time she tried to talk to me about it, in the same breath as telling me that I should just come knock on her door (because it worked so well the first time), she told me that she'd send her "baby daddy" after me if I caused her any trouble. Yay for not living near her anymore! Wheetsin... wow... I think you could get the cat taken into a shelter. There are laws in more and more places about 'stray' cats. Outdoor cats are basically stray, even if they go to the same food bowl every night. I also second the idea of telling him to drop the idea that you're going to 'sell' your land to him or you'll go after him for the damage done to your dog. It's pretty gracious of you that you didn't hold him responsible for it thus far.
  24. How about: You're only less than ____ (anything under 30 days) out from surgery. Give it a chance!
  25. In person, out of the blue, I think it's rude to correct someone. Online, it can be rude. It depends on the true intentions of the poster who is doing the correcting. Of course, perception is everything, so maybe it's not the true intentions of the correcting poster, but the perceived intentions? I don't reply to lots of threads I want to reply to because of how I think people will perceive what I want to say, vs what I am actually trying to say. The very last time I posted against my better judgment, this happened to me and I found myself explaining my way out of it. That has nothing to do with grammar or spelling in particular, but it does go along the same lines of "I was trying to be nice, and they took it all wrong".
