So, you're just sitting there watching TV with the family and your wife spews out, "You cheated because you had the gastric sleeve". Really? Just like that? I acknowledge that what she said was hurtful and spiteful. Not well done by her. BUT Even a pancake has two sides. What preempted her saying such a thing???? Were you having an argument? Were you having a discussion about weight loss and something was said that hit a nerve with her? I'm having a difficult time finding the connection between just watching TV with the family and your wife deliberately demeaning you----in front of the family. What really happened, Friend?

I buy it at my area health food store--bulk. I can get a quart for about $5. Amazon and Walmart sell it, but as a seasoning, therefore much more expensive. Happy hunting! It is a wonderful find.

I really haven't had a social life since John's suicide. Coming back to BP was my first attempt to reconnect with people. For the most part I have been met with what I perceive as heartfelt caring and support. I thank those fellow posters. You know who you are. You are the reason I am now able to peek into the "public arena" again. I still have not allowed myself to become too close to anyone. Not yet, but, one day at a time. Baby steps, right?

Have you tried them grilled or roasted with a sprinkling of nutritional yeast and crushed garlic??? Yummmmyyyy. My daughter(33yrs) and I eat them as a snack. The roasted nutritional yeast tastes like toasty cheese.--and it adds 8gr of Protein

I had my sleeve surgery June 6, '11, and spinal surgery Dec., '13. I had L2, L3, L4, L5 reconstructed. Both of my legs are numb, but painful to the knees. I have two rods and 8 screws holding my spine stable. I revisited my Orthopod because my back pain is back==different, and not as bad as pre=op, but still bothersome. I will have more spinal surgery to reconstruct L1 when "I am ready". Have you shared you PT findings with your Orthopod? There may be some scar tissue building up== only my guess. It's worth a follow up to discuss your PT findings, isn't it? Don't give up. You and we all deserve to be pain free if at all possible. Don't give up on yourself. I haven't. Well. crap! I thought I was doing wonderful things like taking surf fishing back up and actually sub coached my grandson's little league game last week. It was wonderfully fun. But you people make me feel like I'm standing still. Well done, my friends. Well done! Happy prayers going up.

By all means, reach out to your surgeons. They will know what's best. As an old fashion gal, I would recommend some bone broth with nutritional yeast sprinkled on top. Let us know how you're doing. We do care Prayers going up.

Did you have your testing done at the same place where you had your sleeve surgery? If so, are they willing to do the conversion? I'm not sure what #4 is. Can you "splain it to me, Lucy"? I'm so sorry you are having issues. Hopefully with a wee bit more info, you will find some answers. Prayers going up.

My "normal" EKG is "abnormal" to the "norm"... It has been since birth and will continue to be until death. Pre-op for any procedure is deferred to cardiology notes and views within my medical record. Some of us just live to with a heart of a different beat. Just have cardiology review your case and go on from there. --just another bump in the road of your WLS journey. All will be well. Keep posting. We care----and are really nosy! Prayers going up.

It goes round and round, doesn't it? When food is our only comfort--our only friend, we don't need to socialize where we are "hurt" and ostercised , so we stay home where food is there to comfort us--our only friend...

Beach grilling? Anything from the ocean on a skewer with veggies. Grilled cauliflower and melon. Grilled yams instead of potatoes. Grilled flashed tomatoes. Seaweed salad with pine nuts. Pork grilled under the sand---yummy!!! The only thing not grillable is----well--- EVERYTHING is grillable. OMG! I need to go back to the surf!

I used the chocolate version, add a tsp of vanilla, then lick it from a baby spoon as a bedtime treat. It tastes like cookie batter. YUM! That's the way I like it--aahh huh. Sometimes I will add it to my Quest vanilla shake. It's yummy and not as overwhelmingly sweet at the Quest Peanut Butter itself. Enjoy your peanut buttery search!

What the hell?. As long as "the two of you" are happy... Oh no! Are you now going to have to choose the correct bathroom to use like our transgender folks? Oh, bother. I really like the "happier" contribution of "his" to your persona. Yep, like that a lot.

You can "guarantee" NO SUCH THING. ==and to give the example that "surgeons in Mexico" do more surgeries than those here at home--the USA therefore are more experienced is not only ridiculous but an extremely dangerously misleading statement. "Assembly line surgery" (not my statement, but that of the Bariatric Surgeons of The United States), does not make surgery better. It just makes it fast. Is "fast" really what one wants when one is out cold and having someone in a rush cutting into their guts? Home here in the USA, we have Bariatric Centers of Excellence with many surgeons with more than 20, 30 years of board certified successful bariatric surgeries. I truly believe that the above statement of "Henry's" is totally misleading, nonfactual and extremely dangerous. Please, also consider ---what if one has complications having surgery in Mexico??? Where do you go? Who do you see? The Mexican government historically has NOT "gotten involved" with medical malpractice situations. Ever try suing a doctor in Mexico?? Good luck with that. Read some of the horror stories. One case where a man had bariatric surgery in Mexico, had complications. What was done for him? He was driven to the US border and left in a motel! --or the woman who paid for bariatric surgery in Mexico, just to find out years later that the Mexican surgeon cut into her, but never did her sleeve. Ask her how her suit is going against that Mexican surgeon. The stories go on and on. I know there are many folks who went to Mexico and had a successful surgery. I'm just not sure whether it's worth rolling the dice. I would hope that one has enough love for one's self to wait until the money is saved to have the surgery here, at home, in the USA, where if there are complications the chance of a successful recourse is attainable. just think about it. Do your research. EVERYTHIING you can find to read. Only then can you make an informed decision. On this day, this is my own personal opinion. God be with us.

GNC sells samples. My favorite is Quest vanilla . I add extract flavors to make any variety of flavors. However, I would not stock up on too many pre-op. Many WLS folk's tastes change after surgery. What you can't stand the taste of pre-op, may very well be your favorite post-op. Make it is joyful experiment--going shake shopping. Good luck!

The surgeons have MORE experience?? Just because one reads a statement on the internet does NOT mean that it is true or factual. PLEASE research, research and then research if considering going outside the USA for bariatric surgery--or any surgery. More experienced???? REALLY????? SMH, SMH, SHM. Make an appointment with the MD that you prefer. Talk face to face with her. That way, your concerns will have to be documented. Anything sent in the mail may "get lost" and/or "never received". It's always best to discuss any concerns you have with a patient to Md conference. You will fee better and your MD needs to hear your concerns. Good luck! Prayers going up for you.

You need to have WLS for only one person---yourself. For yourself, a gift from yourself, Love--yourself. That takes a great deal on inner strength, but to have WLS for any other reason is asking for turmoil along your entire journey. Hopefully the BF will acknowledge your commitment and be not only supportive, but respectful to your decision to travel down the WLS path. When he isn't, we are and always will be here to listen. Sometimes that is all any of us needs---some one to just listen. We are here for you, Friend---and we're listening. Prayers going up for you.

Have you applied for Medicaid? If you don't have a job, then your job should be looking for a job. WLS is life changing--demanding and not cheap---pre-op +/or post op. The cost of the surgery itself is only the beginning. Maybe, you need to wait until you are a wee bit more financially comfortable and then have WLS. In the meantime, you can put into practice all that you have learned so far. That way when your journey starts again, you'll be off and running with a good head start.
