  1. Okay, here's my goal... SN.......................Starting..............................Current .....................Goal........................lbs Goal Shanny................191......................................190..........................160...........................30
  2. I use the Special K Protein water religiously. I only like the pink lemonade. I mix it with real lemon juice and 1 packet of Splenda, just to give it more flavor. I find those powdered drinks taste watery to me and I like a little more flavor. I usually only drink water or the special K water everyday.
  3. You're a slave driver, ya know?!?!? For S&G (this is a PG forum afterall) I'll try it again. I'm going to make it this time. My birthday has past, no extra Snacks for me...oh wait, my girl's b-day falls in the middle of this challenge. No matter, I'm on a mission... 4. Oh no! I will head the warning. My son gave me a little egg stuffed with Skittles in it. I think I'll pass on it. Hope you feel better.
  5. Welp, I didn't make it. Still at 185. I went to the ER yesterday and their scale had me at 190. Why are doctor's scales so different? 6. Well I finally did it. I cut all of my hair off - all the relaxer is gone. I'm not sure if I like it. Just have to get used to it. I think I look like a boy. At least I won't get have any more hair loss.
  7. I'm still trying to lose the 5 pounds I have let to go in this challenge and we're already picking another date?!?!? You are determined to kick my butt into high gear. I need that! Bring it on...
  8. I've been natural for almost a year. I still have about 2 inches of relaxed hair on top. I wear my hair in wash and go style - usually with some cute headband. I tend to get about an inch cut off at a time so it's been the same length for awhile. I couldn't bring myself to cut it all off at once.
  9. Eating on vacation didn't do me in! 10. I have a friend that drinks that stuff. I've never tasted it but she swears by it.
  11. I eat most of my food from baby bowls. I use the ones that you can put the hot water in. It keeps everything warm for you, and helps control portion size.

  13. The jury is still out on the Nectar. Fruit juice is good, and whey protein is okay when mixed in other milk based products. I'm just not so sure on fruit flavored whey. It's weird. So far I've had the apple and the lemonade. I like the apple with a little cranberry pomergrante juice in it. The lemonade...nothing could help that!
  14. How sweet! Congratulations on all of your success!
  15. I went natural about a year ago. I think it helped with minimal hair loss, too!
  16. My doctor told me I could start walking within a week, but no lifting or straining for 4 weeks. I started really exercising at one month post op.
  17. I've been doing the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred for about a week now. Even though I hate her and that Shred is going to kill me, I definitely am feeling a difference in the way my pants are fitting and I'm noticing more muscle tone in my arms. Has anyone else tried it? If so, did you like it?
  18. Hi everyone, I'm Shanny. I'm an AA from Baltimore and I'll be 35 in 2 weeks (OMG when did I get that old) . I was worrying about losing weight and changing my core shape. I used to be an hour glass before I became pear shaped about 15 years ago. But, no matter what I've always had a big butt and big hips. My girlfriend is really concerned about me losing my butt and hips. Right now she's loving it because she says that it's round and with my hips it's making a nice heart shape. Hopefully, I can keep it up. When I work out, I make sure I do a lot steppers, and treadmill, and elipitcle exercises to make sure my legs/butt are in good shape. Other than that, she's happy with the weight loss, but is afraid that I'm going to get too skinny. Almost every night she's feeling my ribs, or hips or legs likes she's checking for extra bones or something. She says it's just that she knew what I felt like before but now it's changing. I don't know, I think she's judging if it's too skinny. I keep telling her this is for me, not for you, so what you think is too skinny is not what I consider healthy. My boobs have gone from a DD to a D. I'm so happy about that! I've always been self-concious about my big chest. I'm hoping to go down to a C. I did notice in the beginning that my hair kept breaking off really badly. But, after I was able to ingest more and keep my Protein up to 70-90 grams a day I haven't had that problem. I did have to get my hair cut to even it out, but it's not been breaking off since then. I've also noticed that my skin is much clearer! I haven't had any dark Patches of eczema. Maybe because the fat is leaving so the skin's not rubbing together creating the moist spots anymore. I don't know. Whatever it is, I'm happy for it!
  19. I don't feel guilty at all! In fact, I went to Cheesecake Factory yesterday. I had about, 3 oz of chicken fetucinni and 2 spoonfuls of red velvet cheesecake, and I was completely satisfied! The rest of the day I had my protein shakes, protein bars, water, and worked out. I allowed myself that little treat, nd that little bit of food filled me up and made my tastebuds happy at the same time. I tracked everything I ate in My Fitness Pal, and still ended up under my calorie goal.
  20. Congratulations! You look wonderful! Keep up the good work!!!!
  21. Congrats to you! I hope the last pounds are easier than the first. I swear the first 1/2 was mostly by trial and error!
  22. I think the head hunger and no longer being able to eat some of my favorite foods have been the hardest thing. My head doesn't always want to listen to what my stomach is telling it.
  23. Yesterday made 7 weeks to the day that I had my surgery. Today, I weighed myself and I have lost a total of 56 pounds. That means I am exactly 56 pounds away from my long term goal! 7 weeks and I'm already 1/2 way there! This first 56 pounds was no picnic, but it was worth it. I know the next 56 pounds will be, too. Whoot!!!!
  24. I was a chronic drinker with meals too. Mainly because I needed to belch. After 7 weeks, I've finally learned not to drink with my meals. It sounds impossible, but it is doable. After awhile, you don't really think about it.
  25. Okay, I love my sleeve. I'm already 1/2 way to my goal after only 7 weeks post op. I work out 7 days a week. I do 20-30 minutes on the treadmill, and 30-45 at home, either on my gazelle or I do either Tae Bo, 30 Day Shred, or 6 Week Abs 3 days a week. Whatever I'm doing, I'm mixing it up and getting a great workout in. Now, I'm losing about 2-3 pounds per week. My body is getting smaller, I can tell because my scale is moving and my clothes fit differently. Here's where the frustration comes in... I've lost 56 pounds, yet I'm still in a size 18. My waist is much smaller, as are my thighs. My stomach and hips, however, are smaller, but are still the largest part of me. All of my size 18 pants are too big in the waist and legs, but any size smaller is too tight on my hips and stomach. It's like I can't get a 16 past the biggest part of me to fit the other part of me. It's the same problem I had before the surgery. I don't know what else to do to make my stomach and hips get smaller so that I can actually buy pants that fit.
