congrats Turler....way to go......we weigh the same now....YIKES....I am feeling our challenge coming out....LOL KY..thanks!!!!!!!! Love that jersey.....found it at a thrift store for a few bucks....we all know how much of a savings that is..... I had a NSV today...my daughter gave me a pair of LEI jean shorts that were too big on her last night...they sit below the waist...(didnt know I had one...) and they fit me.....they seem tight for me, but Hmm....love the size, the way they make my Butt look, and the fact that there was NO way in Hell these would of come close to getting on me a year ago....LOVE MY BAND...LOVE MY BIKE, LOVE MY FRIENDS...LOVE LIFE!!!!

yes Mike you have very valid points, and I agree. You can eat more if you know how to do it....but I think that risking the band getting stuck or slipping keeps scaring me from eating too much at one time. Now....I have made bad choices in what I eat...or drink.....wine, or dews..but I am trying to move past that and get back on track as well. I know I dont misuse my band when I am exercising...I want to start some other types of exercise as well, but cycling is by far my favorite. Mike, I have IM too...I need to get on there more..... J...yea, I do love my bike and love being out on it.....I am so glad I have my road bike though, but do miss my hybrid. The fact I could just get on it and go.....but..I will get me another, just not a big priority...and my dining room looks like it has been invaded by bikes...LOL So...goregous night, and I am doing MATH...ughhhh

gosh Mike, it stinks when work and life keeps us from doing what we know works. I have the same problem, and when I am stressed I dont watch nearly as closely as if not. I wish you luck getting back on track...I know you can do this!!!! I bet your bike seat misses that butt.............. I got to get on the bike for a quick training ride last nite. I was just needing to GO. So, we went to the area we normally ride, but started someplace different with a goal in mind to do hills. We did, we knocked it down and just rode. It was ehilirating and exciting, and had good averages....the cold air bothered my chest though, but it felt so good. The only bad thing is you cant really get a good "distance" in, but the workout alone was awesome. Here is a shot of me with my bike as we got ready to leave....we are crazy I know....but I love my bike.....

Personal challenge between HP and D!!!
hey, you know we all can tell you we go through stages without loosing. It seems to make no sense at all. I know last year I wasnt loosing, but I was looking slimmer. It is the toning and the inches... Plus we hit a place where we kind of plateau, and there is many times i think we get to that...it sucks.... I am loosing, but so freaking slow. I walked at lunch with a new girl today, and than got a wild hair and went for a short training ride tonight, just to get my speed up and my cadence and hills down. We found that this time last year, I was riding maybe 10 miles an hour and we were maybe going 10 miles a time. So, I also know I was not doing any of the hills that we are currently doing. I am trying to spice it up a little and push myself more than before so I can get going.... I also was told by my doctor last week I was not eating enough carbs....But??? I have a hard time getting that in when I dont eat allot of bread stuff. I know it will start to show for you and you will be looking back at this as a minor set back....Keep with it....I promise it will get better.

he is tooo adorable!!!!!!! I have pomeranians and a beagle. Just love them to death..but you are right they take allot of work.... Glad to see you on the board again....We miss you. we all have our struggles, and I wish I lived by some of you so we could be there and support one another. But I guess this will have to do. I got to ride again today. We had 11 people ride, 2 under age 14. We had a great time and it was great seeing the younger kids showing such enthusiasm.

June 2007 Bandsters
I am not a Junie but a May 07 person. Suzzie..cute pup.....I love dogs, and life somtimes gets in the way, and it is part of it. when you are stuggling we tend to hide from others...I DO IT ALLOT...but we are all here for you and for support. I am struggling too with my loss. I wasnt biking as much, I am not making good food choices, and you are right...It is up to us at this point...which makes it harder. if i would get sick ever time I put something in my mouth that was bad for me, it would be allot easier. But that does not happen. We can do this......Lets get going !!! I am here for you if you ever need anything.... Traci (HP)

anyone from indiana?
I am not sure if you are still looking, but Dr Keith McEwen is pretty reasonable, and will help you get a payment plan set up. They also have some type of financing as well. Our Indiana board is very quiet.....does anyone on this thread go to support meetings? I have not been to any because it is 3 hours for me to get to the support meetings...just curious. have a good day

OMG that is too funny...can you imagine??? OMG... Paducah sounds like a good ride, and did you see it is NEXT weekend? Wonder if they have any rides in the spring???? I am a defiante fan of a good shirt.....love being able to get the Normal size shirts... Got to ride tonight...we call it our challenge or fitness ride. It is over at the lake and at one point we climbed a pretty decent grade but my husband has not downloaded it from the GPS so i cant remember what he said the change in elevation was..but for Indiana, it was not fun. With me fighting this cold, my lung capacity was yuck too. But...It was a good ride for someone who has been off her bike for 10 days.... Anyway.....hope everyone is having a good night

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
oh, I know. it was just so cool to end up talking to someone that was actually from indiana. But, yes, I am sure we could find a ride that would be close for all of us. I rode with J and BG last year at the end of September. They smoked my butt..I was still a very casual rider on a hybrid. I still am a casual rider, but not on a hybrid and I take it allot more serious now. I like rolling hills...I just dont like Killer ones....YIKES. It is great your family rides. My 17 year old was riding, she stopped because she is working all the time. My 14 year old rides allot with us on the casual rides... I posted some rides in September and October as another thread..It would be awesome if we tried for something in the first part of the riding season next year. You know, you have done very well with your weight loss so far. how tall are you? I am 5'8 and my butt and stomach is where most of my weight hangs out...litterally....LOL Well, we are getting ready to go ride....I will proably be sneezing and snotting all over the place, but what the heck....girls gotta get her fix... Take care, and email me sometime

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
and you are about 5 hours from me. I went and looked up that ride tommorow...it looks like an awesome ride. are they offering rides other than the 100 miler? I think that would be a great trip for us for next year. We need to find a ride that is maybe halfway bettween the two of us and just do it????? My husband says that people can be mean and cruel...and it may be just the area we are in, but I dont seem to get a bunch of crap anymore...but we are usually either with our daughter or a group. I am really sorry you are missing out....Keep your chin up.......I just love your bike though and will be looking for some aerobars. I am taking it to Florida when I go in October. I just dont want to be off it all month and there are some good areas down there to ride that this lady has been giving me information on. I would like to get my first century in there...we will see.

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
NO. No offense at all taken....that is not what I meant. sometimes it is hard to get across your "tone" when saying something...I was just saying that when I started riding my bike I weighed 335 lbs. so, for me to get on my bike at 220, is something to be proud of. I guess living in a bigger town maybe would make me feel differently about others and the snickers. I want to get past the fear of not fitting in with some of the better bikers out there, which is a battle in itself. Like for example, they will call a ride, and say what kind of ride it is, and what the average of speed they excpect....sometimes I can tell by the tone of that what and who they want on the rides. I hate to go and do a 40-50 mile hill ride and hold the others back..because I struggle some still on hills, and will rest when I need to. Endurance is something i am trying to build on. I will have to see how close you are to me....I am in Indiana about 90 miles south of Bloomington. There are allot of good ride right now, and I would love to go to them..so...I have planned on 2 for sure that we are doing in the latter part of this month.... Does your husband ride as well??? That helps if he does. I wish I lived near a gym..would love to go to one. For now, I am walking again at lunch....

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm YOU WEIGH WHAT I WEIGH AND I AM OUT ON THE BIKE????????????!!!!!!!!! JUST SAYN???????????????? I find i dont do as well as some of the lighter weighted people out there, but I dont care. Last year I use to always worry about being the fattest, now..I just wear a comfy jersey that dont hug my fat roll, and just ride. I need more options for my arms that is for sure. I was having allot of elbow pain before, and would love the option of layin into them on a flat ride...although there is not too many of those when we go close... What part of OH are you in?? OH...and color is defiantly important...I refuse to wear my orange shirt with my PURPLE bike now..LOL

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
carol, I love your bike...and the color wrap..it is nice. Is it a carbon? How do you like the aerobars?? I was thinking about adding them to my bike for next season, but was really wanting to get use to my pedals first, but I think I am now, so??? I also noticed your seat looks short in the nose part....I noticed allot of them are really long, I think even mine is longer. How much are you getting to ride now? I am hoping my DH gets his butt in gear so we can ride today...I was sick all week so I am raring to go. well,sorry...I am excited to see your bike..I really like it

Personal challenge between HP and D!!!
i know what you mean about not riding. I have not rode in over a week, and yet it is sitting there with the sad spokes calling out to me.... It is wonderful here today, so getting rid of the headache from my nasty ass cold, and getting on her. Hoping to get going here shortly I dont think it is even getting above 80.... I am super excited about something....I emailed a person who was an organizer of a ride in Florida. Since I am going to be down there possibly for a month, I thought I would see what kind of ride events I could fine, etc. So....she emailed me back, and she is from Indiana!!!! She works at a bike shop in Florida and organizes several local rides. she has invited me to join them on there sat rides, and has given me some great links as well. I was sooooo happy!!!! I was kind of stressing about being gone that long, but if I can ride with a group when I am there and stay active, it will make my time pass allot faster.. School stinks...I hate it and wish I was not messing with it...but..OH welll...... D...I wish things would calm down for you. I am sure it is hard being so busy..but just look at the final outcome you will have? I think it is going to be awesome for you and your family. I have completed some of my goals I set for the week I walked Thursday and friday at work...2 miles.....and the second day did steps too. My legs were real sore...yikes....but I have not been riding so I needed to get on the ball with something. My soft drinks are slowly being cut...my food intake is less due to restriction and mind set.... So......now...LETS GET THE WEIGHT OFF!!!!!!!!!!! hope everyone is still having a good day!!!

MANATEE...lovE THE NEW BIKE!!!!!!! I cant get over how we get all crazy about our rides, but I know I sure do Love mine....That is how I got my bike....It is a 2007 end of the year bargain (thats what they said...I still think it was pricey) but.....loveee it. I was able to get better components on it by buying it when i did than if I would of bought this years model for the price. I have not rode my bike since a week ago last Wed.I have had all kinds of issues...from my back, to work, to a nasty summer cold....But....I am drugged up, not snottin as badly and headache is slowly moving away..so I plan to hit it today sometime... I missed the group ride, but thats ok....my DH will ride with me...he is such a nice guy.... So, Manatee, where do you live? What state??? It is refressing to see bikes back on the tread again....:lovechoc:

Personal challenge between HP and D!!!
Ok, I am so pissed I just got done typing out this LOOOONG post and hit submit and it just went away!!! What the heck Ok….. So, I am in word and going to write it and then hit copy…LOL I had a fill yesterday. I did loose, which I am glad since I had gained. I am up higher than I planned on being, but that is ok….I am still not where I was a year ago…which is good. So…..I have to be honest here. I don’t think I am going to be able to accomplish the goal I sit against D. There is just not a way to get 22 lbs off in less than a month..short of starving myself and being reallyyyy unhealthy. So……I am modify my goal I am planning on getting at least 10 lbs off by our Oct 6th date. I know this is not what I made a promise for…but….I need to be realistic here. So this is what my new modified goals are: 10 lbs off by October 6 12 lbs off by November 6 That would bring me to 200. Which would make my total loss of 137 pounds That in itself to me is going to be awesome…..cant imagine(OMG CAN I IMAGINE ) So….this is how I am going to do this: Making GOOD POSITIVE CHOICES Starting now….limiting my soft drinks back down to where within in a month am off them again all together by adding in more sugar free drinks and more water……. Walking at least 2 miles each day x 5 (30 min lunch) Getting back on my bike and committing to at least 3 days per week….(modified due to school schedule.) Completing a century ride before December 31. Making sure that food choices are of good value….and limiting eating out While in Florida for the month of October Swimming at least 1 per day in hotel pool..weather permitting Riding at least 3 times per week or more Riding in a organized bike event at least 1 time while there (anyone up for a event) Making good food choices even while eating out…NO KFC CHICKEN Ok…I think these goals are manageable I know it is not easy when we get so close…but you know, I like looking better, I like feeling better, and I don’t want to put back on my weight because I am making poor choices. So…..these are my goals, my bible to live by for the next few months and I appreciate all of you here being so supportive of me and encouraging….. Together…we are all going to get to our goals….step my step…..

Hello...Again!
it is very frustrating when you are not loosing as fast as we first were. I am at the point where every pound seems to be a struggle. I know that everything that comes my way I have to be in control of me to not eat it. But, you know the one thing I feel is our problems, is we know the tricks of how we can eat around it and get what we want..which is old bad habits. So....We have to put those OLD shots up...put them up everywhere you are at...and than the new shots right next to them...LOOK at the difference.....it is all worth it... Get a fill......I usually am checked at least every 4-8 weeks..fill or no fill.... Good luck Traci in Indiana
