Our location is crazy....Were you able to do your labs before your class ended? I found out that some locations got to do there labs before options ended yet our location had to wait...also I have talked to people that got to pick the location where they went and ours says that Kaiser picks for us. I am not sure whats up with that but I dont like the incosistancy!! Pacific use to have the shortest wait time but now they are very backed up with Kaiser patients

Thats awesome....which location did u take ur classes at? I did mine in Corona and finished Sept 28th...I am still waiting for my autorization...I also want to go to Pacific but the wait time is crazy right now!!

I am with u on this one.....I have been told by many people from Kaiser from other locations that they got to chose where they go....I had my appt to get my labs and start my referral and we filled out 2 referalls...One for Pacific and one for Crown...they informed us we do not chose...Kaiser does....Crown only does the bypass for Kaiser and if the surgeon agrees u are better off having the sleeve they refer you to Pacific....what a crock of crap that is....so if I get org sent to crown it will just delay it 4 or so months to get back to Pacific!! why do some locations get to chose where they go and others (mine all I know of) choses for u? I agree the wait time at Pacific is overwhelming...I called about 1 month ago and it was 1-1/2 months out and now they are scheduling January...so by the time I figure I get mine if im sent there in the first place will be March/April Ps finished my options class September 28th in Corona finished all my labs Oct 15th....waiting for authorization which she said takes about 4 weeks!!

Yeah I am wondering the same thing....want to know she is ok and her surgery went good.....I am going to be posting from the hospital bed if god willing ;P Sending postive thoughts and prayers to her for a fast recovery!!

@ BlaqBeary Im ok just hanging in there....all my test are complete now so I am just waiting for the authorization.....I already did the orientation so hopefully will be able to see the surgeon mid or end November.....I called PB to see how far out sugerys are and they said Dec/Jan so I sure I will be somewhere around March/April....its been a long and fustrating wait and I feel Kaiser needs to handle things better....how did ur appt go with PB today?

Yeah I am beyond fustrated and upset with kaiser....all autorizations and classes should run the same I think I am going to want answers from Kaiser now on why everything is so different at different locations how fair is that? Other locations get to do the labs and pick meanwhile us in Riverside area have to wait.....hmm...not right!!

Hey guys finished options class and had my appt on Friday...I was cleared to get my labs and move on to get authorization if my labs come back ok....I am now even more confused they had me fill out two referrals one for Pacific and one for Crown....I told them I wanted the sleeve and crown does not offer the surgery....they advised me that they pick were I go and I cant request it will be based on criteria.....didnt say what....is that normal? I am set on having the sleeve and going to crown would be a waste of time!!

Finally finished my options class last night :001_smile: I just scheduled my appt for Oct 8th to hopefully get my labs done and move forward!!

I have a history of anemia which steams from PCOS and the mest of periods!!Do you mind me asking what brand of iron u take and the dose? I am worried about anemic when I get my labs done....I have my last class Tuesday the 28th and want to make sure that I have my iron up:thumbup:

So are you going to be able to proceed with your surgery now since you are anemic or do u have to bring your iron up first?

BlaqBeary awesome news so happy for u! Well I am on week 11 now...have class tonight. Yes almost done. I went to the orientation at Pacific Bariatric and it seems like an excellent hospital. Unfortunatly I did talk to the case manager and she said we have to wait until we are done with class to do labs. Right after the last class we see the pcp and they will give us the green light to get labs done...I am ok now bc it has gone by fast...2-3 more months should be cake!!

@ MB20MOM Completed my 10th class last night....yeah 2 more to go...in fact I asked when we find out the next steps once we complete the class and they told us that we find that out the last class. Go figure....we have not met anyone or have been told anything about the process. I could not agree with you more on not learning anything...everything that has been taught I know already and finally last night I got some good info on what the diet will be after surgery. I hope this thing with Debbie not calling me back is not a indication of how things are ganna go when I am done with classes! I decided to go to the orientation tonight at pacific thought might as well get that over with....I hate being in the dark...I feel so blind going into this and what the process will be!! I have kind of put 2 and 2 together based on what everyone says....seems I well see the pcp then he will send me for lab work then once recieved they will give me the green light and send my paperwork to pacific...after that I schedule the consult and then hopefully get my surgery date!! I am so excited....:thumbup:

It use to be at Van Buren but now it is in Corona...but that is where the the case manager Debbie Mcbride is....is that who ur case manager was? Can you tell me the proccess you went through please?

Havent gotten any syllubus or anything:confused1: they have not even talked about what the next steps are and I am not week 10 tonight!! I called the case manager last Wednesday and still no word!!

Well that kind of sucks since we all have the same criteria for southern Cali as far as we all have to go to the options clas....none of our faults but you would think that all should be ran the same no matter location....if one does not have to wait to do all labs all locations should not have to wait either...it just makes some locations longer in wait time!!

@ BlaqBeary.....that is interesting that you even can do your labs....I thought that we had to wait til we finished our options class for them to even order the labs and ekg....how where u able to get everything ordered? I did my physical and that is it so far.....going on the 10th week now!! I must say I am totally confused.....my class to put it lightly sucks....I have not learned anything and they do not even make us turn in food logs!! I am so glad I just finished week 9 and only 3 more to go. I have an orientation at Pacific next wednesday so maybe they can clarify somethings. All of u have been so helpful......I would be more lost without you lol!!

Hi everyone...hope everyone had a nice long weekend!! I have a couple questions. I will be doing my 9th class tonight and finishing up the options program Sept 28th:thumbup1: Yes almost there!! I go to the options class in Corona. I have yet to meet my coordinator..is that normal? Also ha vent been given any info on what we need to to once we are finished....is that normal? I decided to go with pacific in San Diego and have orientation on the 15th of this month (heard you did not have to finish the class to do orientation). Once I am done with the options class I have to schedule an appointment with the weight loss specialist right? Can you tell me the process once we are done with the options class ( I have already got the physical last month done) and what test are required such as lab work? Thanks guys!!

Was it Kaiser getting the paper work or waiting for the facility to get u a surgery date?

Congrads on the date I also am a Kaiser So Cal member. Did you have to do the 12 week or 24 week class?

Any new info on how long the wait is now for Harbor City?

LOL I was set on Lancaster but on to plan b.....pacific bariatric I just went online and scheduled my orientation for Sept 15th....:thumbup: It will all work out....I called and there wait time is 1-2 months...not bad!!

Just found out some bad news......:thumbup: according to my case worker I can not use Lancaster.... these are my options van buren office southbay- west la-kaiser crown bariatric pacific bariatric- Now I got to research these ones:thumbdown:

@dcokequeen.....Do you know if we have to attend an orientation? I just called Kaiser and my co-pay will also be zero so my husband is going to love that I am so excited for you also...it looks like things are moving along....yeah!!
