The Last Day!
I haven't decided what I will have on the last day. But, I'm sure I will eat more than I should. LOL Good luck on your pre op diet.

To weigh or not to weigh
This may seem dumb, seeing as how I know most of you weigh on a regular basis. But, I don't know if I want to buy a scale or not. In the past, the scale ran my life and depending on what it said to me each day, determined my mood, etc. In fact, very often when dieting, if I saw good numbers, I would think, "cool, I lost a few lbs., I can cheat a little". LOL So, I was wondering if everyone weighs and how often. I'm scared of falling back into that trap of letting it dictate my life, instead of trusting that if I follow my post-op diet properly, that I will lose.

Frustrated....what happened to my support???
I'm so sorry that you aren't getting the support you need from your husband. As frustrating as it can be, just remember that we are here for you and that support can come from many places. I hope he comes around. Best of luck on your journey.

Should I really do pre-op photos of myself?
I am really glad you started this thread. I have been going back and forth in my head as to weather or not I should do photos. Now, I will for sure. Thanks.

Newbie in waiting.
Welcome, glad you're here. Good luck with your insurance and good luck with your dieting. My ins. doesn't cover it, but I guess that does at least let me out of the diet requirement. LOL

Time to start planning....
Since I'm not a type A, and believe that organized people are just too lazy to look for stuff...I was wondering if I could follow you around and steal your lists. Seriously, it's a great list and I have started making my own. I'm also feel that planning for this brings great comfort and reduces my stress about it.

Well Here Goes.....
Welcome and congrats. I too have started to buy some of the things I'll need pre and post op. I wanted to try a few of the Protein drinks now, thinking it would be better to eliminate the really yucky ones now rather than when I can barely stomach anything. My insurance doesn't pay either, mine will be 14,200 so looks like we are in the same ballpark. It took me a while to start posting as well, glad you did!

Nervous. Tomorrow I tell my mother..YIKES
Facing your own mother's disappointment in any manner is tough to take. But you had the courage to be honest with her and that was a very brave thing. I'm sure she knew it wasn't easy too. At least she respects that as an adult you can make your own choices. That's a lot in itself. I think the more info you can provide will give her some sense of relief. She only wants the best for you as any mom would. I'm glad she is considering what you said. Keep us posted.
