  1. I am from British Columbia, Canada, My specialty is geri-psych and I work as a community nurse on a Geriatric Outreach Team. I have been overweight since age 10. I am now 49 years old. I am my last box of smaller sized clothes stored from a number of ups and downs over the past 10 years. I don't think I'll make it through the rest of the summer before I need to start to buy new clothes. Hello NEW fall wardrobe!
  2. I had my surgery with him March 29th and have had no problems and am doing well. I am from Canada and did do some research including talking with 4 other Canadians that also had good things to say when I talked with them.
  3. I had a good experience. I felt I was treated very well and enjoyed talking with the other 2 girls that were sleeved the same day as I was. No complications and I am doing well.
  4. The week before I left to have surgery I cleared out all the "diet" and self help books. I was talking to 4 others and was convinced that the sleeve would be the last tool I would need. So far, so good.
  5. I had my surgery March 29, 2010. I find I am rarely hungry but I don't have any trouble when I do eat. I usually stick to around 4 oz of most foods and don't try to push it. Some days I am able to get enough protein in without a protein supplement. I have never been able to tolerate "milky" type shakes but have found 2 that are more "juice like" I do like. One is Weider Good2Go Protein Powder in Peach mango also available in Lemon iced tea and another is whey Cooler Cran' Raspberry Coctail. Both have 20 mg Protein. I mixed the Weider product with 1 litre (4 cups) Water and added a Crystal lite individual packet and it tastes fine. I track everything on Daily Plate so it easy to see where I am at re: intake. Good luck. Sandy
  6. Hi Saulzy2433, I hate anything milk based and even the idea of shakes turn me off. I did find Weider Good 2 Go individual packets in 2 flavors (Lemon Iced Tea and Fruit Splash) that I find tolerable. They have 20 mg protein. Sandy
  7. Hi John, Nice to see someone else from BC. I'm in Langley. Day two of pre-op diet for me too. Slight headache only today. Sandy
  8. Congratulations! Sandy
  9. Tinytummy, how did your surgery go?
  10. I am new to this site and not that familiar with computers and this sort of thing. I like what I've seen so far and have been encouraged by other people's experiences and appreciate the information available. My surgery is not until March 29th. Sandy
  11. I think the best present was your commitment to improve your health and taking the steps you needed to do so. I am turning 49 soon and my goal also is to be "Fabulous at 50!" Sandy
