  1. Yeah so far the only people who know I am even considering it are my Dh and my mom. I'm not planning on ANYONE knowing. I like the suggestion of just saying I'm moving more and eating less........I guess that's the truth about it isn't it! Thanks everyone
  2. I'm looking into gastric banding and if I can get financing I'll probably do it. I have lost weight before (of course it always comes back:rolleyes: ) and I had a lot of people asking me questions, some people were speculating on what I was doing and others enjoyed telling everyone I was too skinny and needed help, come on people I was still 180 lbs after a 75 lb loss. I am not looking forward to the questions. I will not be telling anyone if/when I get the band. I'm a terrible liar! How do YOU deal with it in your individual situations?
  3. Hi I'm Holly:wave: (newbie also looking into banding) I choose to look into banding because: 1. no malabsorption problems 2. less possibility of extra skin and flab 3. adjustable 4. no cutting and re-arranging the plumbing HTH :gluck:
  4. I know there is a board for introductions but I wanted to introduce myself to other Canadians :canada:and possibly get some Canadian cost questions answered. I'm Holly  and I've been considering gastric banding for over a year now. I recently contacted The Surgical Weight Loss Center in Mississauga to ask about cost. Well, they quoted me $200 for the consult and $16,000 :eek for the Band, including follw-ups (does that mean "Fills"?) and not including the pre-op Optifast. So my first question is........does that price sound about right? Has anyone here had OHIP cover the cost of their Band? I was told that OHIP will no way, no how cover this procedure. FYI: I'm in London. I appreciate any and all help and suggestions
