wondering if I am on track
Hi! I went for my 30 day check up today and I am down 24 lbs. The dietician said it was slow considering I lost about 10 from the liquid diet before surgery. I was so depressed sitting in the waiting room waiting to see the surgeon. All I kept thinking was "I have sacrificed so much, had surgery, completed change my stomach" and I still won't do it? When the surgeon came in and asked how I was I told him a little bummed about such a slow weight loss and he said I am right on target. He said they consider your wl before surgery as well as part. Who is right a month out? I know we are all different but it is bothering me. I did not weigh until I went to the dr.'s today. I know people are noticing, I know 24 lbs is 24 lbs, but I want to be sucessful and considering I am not eating much at all it seems wrong. How much did you lose at your 30 days ? Thanks for your input Diane

Halibut success!
Hi FireFly - I am doing ok with real food. Have had a few episodes so I backed off a little because it scared me. Bad pain in my chest and the food came back up. This weekend was a little better but I am eating very little. I guess I would have just 2 bites and be sucessful with the food than have a struggle every time I try. I just have to keep on trying! Thanks for asking :001_smile: Diane

What happens to the staples inside?
unless I read this wrong I am confused.... if you had your sleeve on 12/24 why would you still have a drain?
-
Sleeve Date, March 19, Please describe the Pain
I have found from this board that everyones experience is so individual. I had surgery Feb 8th and overall would say it was not bad at all. Discomfort is how I would describe it. Didn't wake up in alot of pain. It was hard to get up the first time to walk, and I think sitting and standing was the most difficult "pain" I had. The drain I came home with and had for the 1st week. That bothered me, not pain but I felt alot better once it was gone, but it is there for a reason. Within a week I felt much better just tired. I would definately say no comparison to childbirth! That was much worse. Good luck with your surgery and recovery, you will do great. Make sure to keep posting, there are so many people on here with great advice to give. They have all helped me so much and it is great to have somewhere to turn where people know exactly how you feel and what your going through. Diane:001_smile:

Greek Yogurt
I just tried Oikos Strawberry today, it was great! The other brands of Greek Yogurt I have tried were too tangy and sour for me

question
Thanks for all the advice! I too felt the same way yesterday, where the heck is my stomach now in my chest because thats how it feels when it hurts, right at the very top of my chest. I am going to try to take it sloooowwer and measure and see if that will help me.

question
I am a little over 3 weeks out of surgery and I am struggling with food. I sometimes can eat something - no problem, the next time I get that horrible feeing in my chest which doesn't go away until it comes back out. I am on the mushy stage and I am wondering if this is normal to be experiencing this and wonder how long it usually lasts. I also had a hiatial hernia repair and wonder if it is this or if I am just eating too much, or too fast. I can't seem to figure out what is causing. I feel like I am eating so little I don't know what one bite too much is. Today was the worst, half a yogurt for lunch and I felt such pain until it came back up. (sorry, I know it doesn't sound pretty) All in all I have felt positive about the whole experience but today it was really getting me down. I would love to hear from anyone else who has or does have this experience and how long it lasted (and will it go away?) Thanks Diane

The count down is on!!!
Best of luck to you as you begin your new life! You will be so happy you have made this choice for yourself! Congratulations and wishes for a great experience Diane:thumbup1:
