Sensations in eating feeling unnatural and unpleasant still!
Sweetie- Everyone is different... just as long as you "know" your full- and not over doing it.. you're ok... Listen to your body... I don't know how far out you are.. but there are times I can eat ALOT.... and then on other days.... hardely anything... a few bites of something.. and I am done. I went for chinese last week.. really hungry- got take out figuring I could have it for a few meals.. well I could only eat about 3 bites.... LITTERALLY and i took it home. there are days I just can't swallow it... or I know I will be sick. I have learned that feeling.. the way it tastes .. and I have to quit. So there really isn't a "normal"... it's what your body responds to.

man food
OMG....... don't turn in your "man card" There was a book out about 20 years ago ( gezzzzzzzeeeeee.. showing my age) "Real men don't eat Quiche"-but ya know what? They do!!! LOL ( It REALLY is good ) Just don't think it would be the thing to take on a hunting trip tho. Belive me when I tell ya- I liked the "man food" all too well........ ( just look at my before pic) but your new stomach will let you know how much of it you can have. But- with anything- this surgery is a "tool"- and yes... you can gain weight with any weightloss surgery... so it is a decision you have to make how much to eat etc. G'luck to you!!!

its the night before surgery and all through the house...
NewMom I'm so glad you're feeling better so soon.... I had to spend 5 days in the hospital because ofthe nausea and vomiting. I wouldn't wish that on anyone- it wasn't jsut from the sleeve- it was also the anestesia. I never had problems before- but I did this time- and then I also had a reaction to the pain meds they were giving me.. so a double wammy. Cnagrats to both of you AND sooooooooooo glad you are feeling better!!

Christmas Goals?
Caroyln- I bet I got 10 years not documented... or hidden behind the camera or behind a body! Kinda sad.... I have about 30 rolls of film i found and am getting about 3-4 developed a week........ my boys and I kinda like it.... "mystery Pics" found some good ones and ones that I didn't think I was that big... I WAS......... so time is deceiving... As soon as I get this computer situation fixed.. gonna have them all filed... and fill in some voids...

Sensations in eating feeling unnatural and unpleasant still!
Hi Lan- I'm sorry you're still having troubles with eating. But like Vegas said- try to focus on what you CAN eat. It might be a bit boring if it's the same thing over and over- but you can get thru this. I was sick the first 3 months- but fortunatly I was able to drink Protein drinks- or protein shots to help with my protein intake. You had this surgery for a reason- think about what those reasons were..... (((((((((HUGS )))))))))

Christmas Goals?
My Christmas goal is to be 180:lol0:ok ok ok 190!! I want to sit down with my boys, eat dinner and do it "normally" Not have that gorged feeling...to be able to talk and visit and not focus soley on the food. Play rock band and alaugh alot 'cause I stink at it... but have fun!! Get back to basic.......in my job, my exercising,my life...... Take plenty of pictures this year... and not be "hiding" behind someone. I want to contact old friends that I have let slip away because of my obesity- people quit asking after awhile..... I want to face my fears, and not be fears anymore.... I would love to meet some of my friends here! I could go on... but will stop here...

Popcorn anyone?
I really can't answer your question.... I don't snack. In fact we had a food drive at work and I had some popcorn that I gave away. Someone should come along and help you out with your question tho.

man food
Ha........ I thought this was kinda funny for my situation, since thats what I really liked to eat PRE-sleeve....... MAN food ( as you referred to it ) lol I was a meat and tators kinda gal- LARGE quantities...But since my sleeve- my thinking has changed, I'm 9 months out and can just about eat anything,.. but I don't even want a steak. Have had one, maybe two- but not much of it. My taste has changed along with my thinking. It's a conscience decision every day. You really don't want to go back to bad habits after going thru this do you? I have had chicken wings, don't even want a burger-havn't had one, BBQ made me ill- and I have had fried chicken, but prefer grilled. You'll be quite surprised at the difference this surgery does to your eating... especially since like me- you said you were a volume eater

Missing Food
Yes- this is very normal- and you'll also find that things you once loved, now not so much and vise versa. Just take your time and introduce new foods slow- and if they don;t agree with you, try again in a month. G'luck and keep us posted on your progress!

Getting sleeved in January! SO many questions! PLEASE HELP!
Hi Megan- First I'd like to say welcome!! And Congratulations on your decision to get healthy! The sleeve saved my life and gave me a whole new one!! To answer one of your questions- I was a volume eater- and NEVER felt full! Could eat all the time- now with the sleeve- I can't eat too much. I DO get full now! And if I eat tooo much it is an uncomfortable feeling- just one bite too many can put me over- so I have learned to slow down eating ( I use to inhale my food tooo ) It is a "learning" process- but you can do it! Congratulations again on your decion, and if you have any more questions- Just post away!!!

tell me this won't last forever
ok.. here it is..... It Won't last forever- and it will be OK! You're doing good- just stay hydrated! continue to work on your Protein, just don't let it consume your every thought. Lots here say stalls are common- I had soooo much to lose that I didn't stall until about 7 months out. But plenty here stallled after a fe weeks. You're walking everyyday-try to increase it by 5 or 10 minutes- And good NSV about the sweets- don't go to them- I did and it was a major mistake- I never even use to like them- Now I DO!
