  1. In my opinion if anyone is eating food for any reason other than simple survival or more than they need, then they are addicted to food. I mean to the point that they are obese, not everyday individuals who will eat with others even when they aren't hungry but wouldn't at other times. Not sure if I'm making any sense, but I think most will agree. I was and still am a food addict. I will always be a food addict. Realizing I had a problem was my very first step to overcoming this problem. I was able to lose weight but never could keep it off. I used food to cope to all my internal problems and I always kept going back for it. Thus gaining 180 Lbs!! Oh yeah, I was a big girl. Now I have built in portion control. I won't be foolish enough to think it's over, because I will always have this with me. I will always have the ability to gain my weight back if I'm not careful.
  2. Ohh I forgot to mention ( I know we were talking on FB ) anyhow, sorry if TMI but how have your BM's been? I remember having excruciating pain one time in the abdomen and honestly turned out to be I was constipated.
  3. Yayyyy CONGRATS!!! Thats great
  4. <p style="margin-left: 40px"><strong><span style="color: #0000ff">LOL!! Thats a fun interesting NSV!!! Good things come in small packages?</span></strong></p>
  5. I think a lot can be said for the final 20-30 Lbs. It wasn't until I lost it that I really felt satisfied by what I see in the mirror. My final few didn't hapen until my contouring either, so I have no idea if I would even be satisfied today had I not done the Plastics. I'm thinking I wouldn't. But that's just me.
  6. Going on 16 months in a few weeks and my sleeve is still really small. I can do about 6 oz at a sitting. However certain things will help me "cheat" to fit more in. I won't say what they are but its probably the case for others who can eat more. If I'm doing solid Proteins and veggies and only taking 20 mins for a meal I can do about 6 oz and no more.
  7. I'm so happy for you Kristy!!! Keep rockin your tool!!
  8. Thats good, and this is why I try to stay away from the liquid pouch test. I don't have a pouch I have a sleeve. LOL I can easily get back on track without liquid torture. Anyway I hear ya on the "Party like there is no tomorrow" which I might have to do this on December 20th... hahaa!!
  9. I don't mind at all! I support all methods of Weight Loss or weight loss surgery. I have friends from all over the board on my facebook. I have not copied and pasted this list to that however, but I should.
  10. Yayyyy!!!! You look totally amazing, and happy!!! I'm sooo happy for you!! Whooohooo!!
  11. From what I understand all liquids are ok, sticking to sugar frees - so it sounds like all those you mentioned should work. If you're not too sure, ask your nutritionist. Good luck!!!
  12. Yayyyy glad I could help!!! @Kim - awesome!!! Glad whatever or however you did it worked for you! Maybe you can share it too, so others might be able to try it.
  13. Thanks so much! This is truly for me has been the most wonderful place for support throughout my sleeve weight loss. Giving back is the least I can do! Believe me, we ALL get it... Well wishes on your surgery! Yayyy!!!
  14. Fabuloussss!!! You look great M2G!!
  15. That's awesome! I had to learn how to do that myself.
  16. It sucks having so much extra room in the theater seats or at sporting events... everyone expects you to hold their stuff and place it in the crevice.
  17. These are great!!! Cheers to the New Year!! May it lead into many more great ones. 2013... 2014... etc.
  18. Yayyyy excellent!! The swallowing is normal. Just try to take tiny tiny sips. Have lots of patience during the first 6-8 weeks. Its tough, but you can do it, and all the rewards are right around the corner.
  19. Good afternoon VST!! This Feel Good Friday is in response to the changing of our Calendar in only a few days. But, we will be looking back not only on the past year but more the past 5, which is probably where most of you started your journey's. Taking a look at where you are today, how have you changed since then? Not only the physical sense, but on the inside as well. Now look in your future. What are your goals, and where do you want to be in 5 years? Past: 5 years ago, I was struggling with my weight. I was just starting to take a hard look at WLS as an option. I had High Blood Pressure, I was over 330 Lbs - up and down 50 Lbs. I was scared for my life, as I was diagnosed with Hypertension just recently. My darling Uncle had just passed not too much sooner than that due to many complications from his hypertension. His kidneys malfunctioned and was forced on dialysis for a few years. He was finally given a transplant, but unfortunately the anti-rejection medication gave him cancerous brain tumors. He passed in weeks. This was an extremely scary thought! I knew I had to do something, or I was looking into my future. Today, I am on top of the world!!! I went through a lot in that last 5 years, including many more weight losses and weight gains. A failed attempt with the Lap Band. Losing 50 with it and gaining it all back. Never ever being able to connect with it the way I'd hoped. Anyhow, I had my revision to the VSG on 9/15/10. Since then I've been on a weight loss trend better than I could have ever imagined! I created so many goals for myself, stayed positive and kept believing there was hope for me. No matter what there would be a day I'd be at goal. My goal has always been to be happy with me, inside and out. Today, I encompass that feeling. I had the help of plastic surgeries even above my weight loss surgery, though I felt it was completely necessary and it was. My future goals and how I see myself in 5 years is pretty simple. To continue feeling happy with me inside and out. I plan to work hard to stay at goal, right here. I am also thinking my Husband and I will finally be ready to have our "cubbies" as he so lovingly puts it... haha I am also thinking of buying a new home as well. I am interested in a particular area in North Sacramento that I came across as we were house hunting 2 years ago. I do plan to make it there by then. I really don't have a lot of future worries. My life has changed so much and for the better that my desires are just to really live for each moment. To GOD be the glory, and I am always thankful for his blessings. HIS lessons good and bad have molded me into the woman I am at this moment, and that's enough. Have a wonderful and safe Holiday this weekend everyone!! Have a ball!!
  20. @S - LOL!! I'm not touching the glutes! But with my results I've started to think about doing the tummy and arms now. Yeahh!! @T - Thanks hunny!!! Sooo much to look forward to for you!! Xoxo
