  1. I was also still very weak at 4 weeks post op. What you are experiencing is quite common. Don't let it worry you, because now I have more energy than I know what to do with. Just start slow, take your time building yourself up. You will get to a point where you're doing a lot more and soon. Walking and stationary bikes, even ellipticals should be fine for you right now. Wow you are really fast on that stationary bike! My best 10M time is just under 32 Minutes. Good job!
  2. Hi Jwow... just be careful. I'm not so sure doing so many workouts being only 3 weeks post op is a really good idea, especially the swimming. Please check with your surgeon.
  3. Yay!!! The first few weeks are tough, but don't give up is the main thing. You got this!
  4. Thanks so much for your support! Actually besides majority of it probably being mostly luck - I'd say workouts has helped a lot with my loose skin, and staying fully hydrated (important for many reasons!)... I've also began lifting with Kettlebell routines and with dumbbells and my arms are filling out quite nicely. It's better to work it and see if it helps or not, than to do nothing! All the best!!
  5. Hi Katie I was sleeved about one year and 8 months ago. I was 282 just before my pre-opt diet, but at my highest weight ever I was about 330 Lbs. That 50 Lbs was lost on years worth of fighting. I normally eat protein first, then my veggies, then a little bit of carbs. Though recently I have been eating far more carbs as I've bumped up my workouts like crazy. It sounds like you are well on yoru way, congrats!!!
  6. Forgive yourself of your past... but never ever forget. If you do, you are doomed to repeat the behaviors that have gotten you to state at which you have sought to change.
  7. Hi bg63, Yes I have done the pouch test. I don't really like it, I don't like doing all liquids for days unless I absolutely have to. It's just not my favorite! Besides that, I have a sleeve, I don't have a pouch. I personally when I need to get back on track just go back to basics, which is protein first, then green veggies next. No carbs for a couple days as long as you don't workout hardcore. Drink plenty of fluids (water!) too and hopefully this can get you back into good habits. Hi Shannon Well my dear, I think perhaps you might just need to relax a little bit. Don't over think it! It can be mentally draining as it is. The weight WILL COME OFF but you just have to follow sleever rules and continue to challenge your physical abilities. That and plenty of fluid (see above response should help). I understand wanting to be at goal yesterday, but frankly that isn't going to happen. Don't stress on things you can't control. Forgive yourself for your past (DON'T FORGET) and make this moment count as yoiu move forward to fix yourself. It takes time and patience. *hugs*

  10. Thank you for saying, thats so sweet. Rock on!
  11. Muscle burns fat, so absolutely.
  12. I'm just starting myself to work into weight lifting. Here's a nifty little suggestion... and I don't think a lot of people even consider this but IMPO the very best beginner tool for strength training is actually body weight calisthenics. Give it a try! If your gym offers any type of Bootcamp classes go for that. Other than that most definitely start light and small. Begin with a good warm-up, however long your body likes. I do around 20 Minutes on my stationary bike. It seems to be the best result for me. Then do some nice stretches for about 3-5 minutes. After that, do your thing. However, it is best not to work the same muscles every single day. Give your muscles a break between workouts. You're doing great Lissa, I'm happy for you.
  13. If a mind is a terrible thing to waste, and your mind controls your body... then get your mind right for sure!
  14. Thanks Lynda! Keep rockin those workouts lady!
  15. OKAY FOLKS!! It's picture time. I've just completed three full weeks of Insanity. STOKED!! I also burned 2,001 calories today. Okay, that has little to do with this subject, just thought I'd mention that. Oh, and the picture with the pink lace was because I wanted to show exactly how much fun I'm having. I bought that at Forever 21. Good times!! PHOTO TIME!!! Enjoy.
  16. Re: Pain: It is quite possible you are A) Eating too fast, B.)Taking too large of a bite, or C) Not chewing your food enough. In the beginning these three things are a must, or you will feel a lot of pain while eating. Try working on these and see if it helps. Keep your bites to about the size of a pea. Put your spoon or fork down between bites, and be sure to chew that food until it's like a liquid. Re: No weight loss: You just had surgery, and this is a long journey. Try being more patient. It will happen. One day at a time. Re: Cooking with Seasoning: I sure do it!! I'm not going to be stuck eating cardboard. If I were, I'd just eat... cardboard. Re: Eating Pizza: IMPO I would wait for as long as you can stand it before trying anything like that. They sleeve our stomach, not our brain. Chances are you can slip very easily back into bad habits - and especially since you haven't started working out yet, that is a very high calorie food and full of fat... preservatives.... just not very nutritionally sound. Your stomach is prime real estate now, fill it with foods your body needs to survive. Wishing you well in your journey!! No one said this was going to be easy! Least of all me.
  17. If you do the highlighted, you will lose weight. Promise. This is far more simple than we give the sleeve credit for! SOLID protein first, everything else second. And yes IF you workout, your body needs more fuel. I always add an extra protein shake immediately after my morning workout. I did it! You will too.
  18. Way to go!!!! You look great girl, you did it!!
  19. Wow I hadn't even thought of that. Thats considerable! I mostly thought down the line if I had to I could revise to RnY or DS... however just to have my sleeve re-done would be ideal! Good luck in your research, I'm not sure who does do this.
  20. Awwww Kathy! I'm sorry you're having to go through that! I know my knees won't hold out forever either, as I've been putting both mine off for a few years now. I still have a little bit more left in them but I'm aware it will happen someday. Hugs~!! I'll miss ya, but as soon as you can please check in.
  21. Well heck I figure I'm already doing it, just should get creds and paid for it too! Thanks Lissa!
