Coffee, anyone?
I was only told to stop coffee before surgery because I would be without it for a few days - and the headaches are no fun. I didn't drink it again for a month I think. Not because I was told not to, but just because I didn't have the desire for it. I started back up again, but I only drink half-caff and not even the whole cup either. It wakes me up fine and then I'mdone. I do not get my stomach upset or anything.

Crazy Dreams??/
LOL drys, that sounds like a pretty neat dream!! Actually I did have some really strange dreams too right after surgery. I think it's a mixture of anesthesia and all the other drugs you're taking straight out of the hospital. Mine lasted a few weeks, along with bouts of insomnia and too much sleep. It's worked out though and I sleep perfectly fine.

Sleeved Nov 16 - Readmitted to hospital 20 days later
Kelli, thank you for checking in! I was thinking about you. I'm glad to hear the condition hasn't gotten worse, and if your Dr. says that's a good thing - then I'm sure that's the case. Being in a hospital bed all the time is no fun, so I'm sure it's making you feel sad and ready to get back to your normal life. I hope that will be very soon! Hang in there and know everyone here is rooting for you!!! Please let us know how you're doing! I know I'll be looking out for any updates. Hugs!!!

strange tingling
Hi Patti, this is the first time I've heard of this type of side effect. I agree with Tiff, it's probably best to seek medical advice. I hope someone can chime in and offer some help! Let us know how it turns out, and that you are O.K.

How do you know if you're intolerant to milk, etc?
Well, I certainly did not make up my story - and I've never had reactions to milk like that before. Also, I do not believe my stomach was thrown in the trash. I think that would be hazardous waste? There is enough room on this board for support of all surgeries listed as support here. I don't think it's necessary to vilify one to pump up another. I have not done so, and would appreciate none others do as well. Thank you.

Shots
It's always best to follow surgeons orders, so maybe try to get some help on it. Is there any way they can show you how to do it, so that you are not concerned you are doing it improperly? Maybe even have them watch you as you perform it - just to give you a little piece of mind. Just a suggestion, worth asking. Being preventative to blood clots is never a bad thing. I'm sure everything will work out fine.

What happens when you get there?
Hello Reyes! Well, I did have my surgery on the day I requested. They just asked me to show up a day before for my pre-op tests. However, this is just my surgeon. Maybe if you tell us who your surgeon is, someone that's seen him/her before would be available to help.

an AWESOME 10 Weeks so far!!
Sleeve, you are doing so AMAZING!!! I know without a doubt you'll make your goal, and you will make it FAST!! I'm super happy for you! Your salad made my mouth Water... lol I might take it as a recipe and try it. I still haven't tried lettuce yet. I'm not sure why but it scares me. No logical reason for it - but that salad makes me want to give it a whirl... Have fun at your UFC event!! Rock those boots lady!!

Serious Contemplation
BD2, great attitude!! We are always going to have our ups and downs. So long as you have many more ups (or should that be downs???) then you are in good shape. Keep it up, you are really going to need that moving forward. Dieting pre-sleeve is super difficult. Just hang in there and keep doing the very best you can and you will be OK. Once you are sleeved, your hunger won't be as pronounced. Besides, when you do eat it will only be tantamount to what your stomach can hold right now. Also, having a meeting visit with your new surgeon is a great idea. Everyone has to start somewhere - but just be 100% sure of your choice. Once you have that covered, focus all on yourself and trust in the decision you've made. All the very best to you!!!

want to rant
I do understand the wanting to "chew" your food aspect. I think I was lucky that when I was going through my liquids phase, I just really wasn't craving anything in particular. My desire to eat just really wasn't there. I also was surrounded by very supportive people too. If anyone tried to rub my nose in it, they would wish they never met me. I just feel like I deserve more respect than that, if it's not given to me I stand up for myself. They call me "Queen" as joke around here sometimes, but I'm okay with that. I don't let anyone treat me badly, and I think EVERY woman deserves that. For without us THEY would not exist. No, I don't think they should have to drink Protein shakes with you, but a little respect - yes, you deserve that. His friends would have to go if that's how they treated me in my own home!! Then me and little boyfriend would have a bit of a chat, and from then on he would be acting right.

Anyone taken an appetite suppressant post op?
sleeve, if the Protonix doesn't work for you - go back and try the Omeprazole. I agree Nexium is terrible. I was on it for 3 weeks before moving on. My stomach felt like a volcano with it. It took me at least 2 weeks before Omep. worked to its full 100%. Just a suggestion of course, but once it gets going full steam ahead it really works wonderfully.

Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.
Wow Sunshine, great job!!!! Keep up the great work everyone! I finally did a little something yesterday, and I'm feeling MUCH better today. I think I needed to start sweating out that bug, and this morning I feel really good. I have 10.2 Lbs to lose in 3 weeks. That's less than my currently weekly average!! I'd like to really push as hard as I can to get there. So... I'm gonna get back to my normal routine, with an hour a day 6 days a week - and I'm gonna eat like, zero carbs if I can help it... LOL My only carbs will come from my Protein shakes and my veggies or some cheese. I will post what I end up doing today. LETS DO IT!!!

Ah, thanks! My omeprazole is working ok for now, but sometimes things just stop all of a sudden. It's nice to have backups in mind.

Victoria Secrets
Awwwwwww gahhh!!! Cyber hugs to all!! This whole situation is blahhh... seriously. We used to have a Fredericks in my area but that was many MANY years ago. The shopping mall it used to be in doesn't even exist anymore. :'( Tiff, you're going to be so happy once you get the boobs done. I feel for you girlie, going through that (((hugs))). I hope you can get your new pair soon! I'm sure you'll find something you love. I know I will be glad when I get mine done!!! I have a long ways to go though... I don't know what I'm going to do once I shrink out of the Cacique bras from LB's. The smallest they carry are the 36C... and ya know, my 38C's are on the last hook - so I know they're next. Heck you can't even get the 36C's in their stores (at least none in my area)! They are only online. About the "Pink" stores... that is sooo funny!! Hahhaaa!! I laugh whenever I see girls wearing those sweat pants. Kinda silly. Question to the Kohl's shoppers: Which brands are you buying? I have NEVER been able to find good bras - like I said except for the Cacique brand at LB. Other brands always make my boobs look like either cones or mountains. Not interested in having either...

Mexico
Pompa is another excellent choice. I actually spoke with her on the phone while I was doing my Surgeon search. She'd have been my second choice, but was able to come up with enough to have Aceves do my revision. Aceves was more experienced in what I needed to have done. OP, you will want to look her up too, when you get the chance.
