  1. I seen this subject brought up somewhere else and I thought it was pretty interesting! For those of you whose weight loss is noticeable and others are commenting on it: Have you been called something referencing your weight loss? If so, which one was your favorite? Mine was: Twiggy... LOL this one cracked me up!! I was walking through the halls at work and one of my GUY co-workers (they usually never comment on weight loss really) said "hey Twiggy!" LOL I said hey, then I realized he called me Twiggy. I said, "Did you just call me Twiggy? and laughed" He said "Yup!!" Hahaaa!!
  2. That is fantastic!!! You're really rocking that sleeve!!!
  3. LOL Dont know why but this kinda made me giggle...
  4. Hi Erin! I"m so glad to hear from you! It sounds like you're still going to go through quite a bit before you're 100% back on the healthy track... I'm so so sorry to hear of your issues. Big Hugs to you! Don't stress about the "whoa is me" attitude, you are going through so much right now and should be expected. Just know we are all here for you and are wishing you to get on the mend.
  5. I chose only to tell those in the beginning that had a real interest in whether I lived or died really. That included no one at work except 2 of my closes confidante's which I trusted them 100%. The reason is that I've gone through this before. I had the lap band and I told *everyone* about my surgery. I was not expecting for it not to work for me, so when I started to struggle and gain my weight back it became a real nightmare for me. I just didn't want any added pressures, I wanted to focus on my weight loss, and that alone. The only other folks that knew were other WLS people - ppl I'd been conversing with for several years. However, now that I'm almost finish with my journey, I'm pretty much open to answering completely if someone asks how I did it. I've gotten a few strange responses but I really don't care too much. The sleeve worked for me and it saved my life!! How can I *not* be proud of that? Most people are very encouraging and are happy for my success. Knowing this though, I still wouldn't change a thing. I liked going through my journey in the beginning without all the "how are you doing's" or "how much have you lost now" or any other silly questions that always seem to play a role when others know I had WLS.
  6. What an awesome story, thank you for sharing with us. It's so nice to hear the good things in relationships, when we can hear so much negative sometomes. @LadyVelvet - best wishes on your surgery tomorrow, both of you!
  7. No I do have skin issues, just not a whole lot I guess. It's still enough where I'm going to get it fixed someday. That's going to be another 10Lbs loss too right there... lol No secret seriously. I do workout but mostly it's running/walking/cardio. I don't do a lot of weights and I do toning 1-2x per week. I gain muscle very easy so I stay away from it too much. That might be what helps with the skin, my muscle tones. Either that or just plain luck.
  8. Ohhh didn't think of *that* kind of chicken salad. Either way - it's probably best to just wait it out to try it again. It could be the Mayonnaise, I was sensitive to a lot of fatty ingredients early out. It does make sense too. Our sleeves make the rules now!!
  9. Thanks sleeve family!!! @Leslie, you are here... don't be silly!! @feed, good idea! I will wear those on our get together. @Disney, yep better stop at Kohl's... heehee @Sarah... you're sooo funny!!! Luv ya girlie!! @SS - it is true, I've always been heavier than others who wear my size. It used to play head games with me, but I'm trying to learn to accept it. I still want to get to 165 which is about 30 Lbs from now. I wonder what size I'll be then or if I'll even get there... we'll see. @phish - at my heaviest (330 Lbs.) I was in a 28W/3X. At surgery (272 Lbs.) I was a 24W/2X. @S4M - I'll tell you this, if I feel like I'm losing too much booty I'll just have to say I'm done... I really like the way I look now, but I don't want to be anywhere near the 2's so I'm going to keep it moving!!
  10. They sound pretty good, gonna have to give em a try!
  11. Whooottt!!! I think I'll wear mine next casual Friday.
  12. WOW!!! I chose these pants as my goal pants. They are still a little tight and probably in about 5 or so Lbs they'll fit ok. But WTH - I can get them on!!! I never dreamed... never. Weigh day is one day and a wake-up. Looking forward to seeing what it says. Whooootttt!!! Consider this my 8th month check in. :-) Blessings y'all!! Befores: Currents (Those are 8's):
  13. Hmmm those sound really good, thanks!
  14. Whooottt!! You're successes and NSV's are so much to be proud of!!! Congrats and here's to the next 37!!
  15. This is what I have: http://www.nabiscowo...duct=4400004832 They're really good. One serving is 5 crackers I believe.
  16. Hey there, I actually didn't start eating actual salads until about 3 months out. It takes awhile for our tummies to get used to certain foods, and everyone is different on how it responds. Give it another month and give it ago, see how it works then. Good luck!
  17. I had a similar experience with my lap band Dr. He was always negative to me about everything. Anytime I felt I was having an issue he always tried to downplay it, make me feel guilty or pretend like it was all in my head. These are two different surgeries by far, but my point is this: You're surgeon is going to be the one to guide you and take care of you post op. You'll definitely need a good relationship with him and feel comfortable with him. I've learned that my lap band experience was NOT ME, and all the time I felt like such a miserable failure because I was made to feel that way. It can really get in the way of your progress and weight loss goals. This is a very serious surgery and you're going to need all the support you can get. IMO, you would be better served finding someone else, either it be there or somewhere else. Wishing you much success on your journey!
  18. This was becoming a reality for me. I WAS anorexic AND bulimic as a youngster. I remember how I felt back then and I started to feel some of those feelings to an extent. It scared me, I'm won't lie. I did have to put my scale away (no I didn't throw it away... lol ) - and no I do not fear doing this will make me any less successful with losing nor will it hinder me at keeping it off. I truly don't see how weighing daily would be any more helpful than weighing once a week. If I was going up I would still catch it early enough weighing weekly. It was when I *never* weighed that became a problem. Like savedbythesleeve said, everyone just has to do what works for them.
  19. I don't drink this very often. You have to be really cautious with it, no more than 6 oz in one setting - def only use one bag of tea. I had some last night and the last time I used some was almost 3 weeks ago I believe. It works!! Also, only use it in the evenings after dinner. It's good that way and it will work by the time you wake up in the morning. For me to use this I'll have to be constipated for more than a few days.
  20. That is great!! Baby steps, you will be taking leaps and bounds very soon. I might suggest starting to keep some things for you at work, it will help you in a pinch so you won't have to make poor food choices. Having Hi Fiber or regular oatmeal packets at work has worked wonderfully for me. Good luck in your journey!!
  21. Hmmm... didn't think of that - I do take these as well. Might be another reason I'm more on the regular side.
  22. Yes it is, really to me the very best solution has and will always be ensuring I'm getting my Fiber in daily. Minimum is 18g soluble fiber per day. For the most part I don't really get many issues, but they do pop up sometimes. Like someone mentioned I do have to take Iron daily and with a relatively lower carb diet - it just happens. I never let myself go more than 3 days without going though, it has to be remedied at that point. It is rare for me, so I'm thankful for that. Now, in regards to being lactose intolerant - I am that too. I will never forget though the one time I had some post sleeve and it felt like I was going to pass out, it was really scary. I've been too scared to drink regular milk anymore!! :oLet alone any ice cream! Not a bad thing I guess...
  23. I realize I have a problem when it comes to my weight, and I can tend to get a little obsessive with it. I really have to maintain my composure in all ways I can. For lots weighing daily is not a big deal - and those are the folks that deserve the credit!! Me, I just can't seem to do it with fluidity. It comes off being irrational where I'm weighing even more than twice a day and it was starting to affect my moods and that was when I was forced to look at this habit and realize it was not a healthy one. I too had to hide my scale while I am not looking at it. If it's anywhere remotely visible and with easy access, I will try to look at it. So, now it's in the garage and I really don't like going in there in the early morning, it's really cold. Now, who's to say how I'll feel once it warms up in the morning? LOL I might have to get my hubby to hide it from me at that point. We shall see!
