Tired of this thing called 'THE STALL'
When you hear about the 3rd week stall, what that means is it STARTS around the 3rd week post op. The 3rd week stall on average lasts from 3 weeks long, and I've even heard some lasting 5 weeks long. So no worries, what you're going through is completely normal. You just have to hang in there and wait for it to pass, unfortunately. Like Julie76 mentioned, it will happen... just not overnight. I've endured all kinds of stalls being a year out, but time goes by and the pounds and inches continue to drop. Keep your spirits up and stay positive! I know it's really hard during times like this, but know that someday you will be right here where I'm standing. You'll be breaking advice at goal while the newbs are worried about their 3rd week stall.

My Gastric Sleeve Story
Hey Codename Spivey! I've had many surgeries and they do that same song and dance every time. Funny thing is, I fall for it every time too... It sounds like you had a very easy recovery! Keep recovering well and it seems you'll be able to get your hernia repair next month already!!! Take care!

It's funny now but it wasn't last night
First thing in the morning: sublingual Vitamin B-12 - 1x per day (1 total) calcium citrate plus Magnesium - 2x per day (4 total) > I take the second dose before bed. Vitamin D3, 5,000 IU - 1x per day (1 total) Potassium, 3% RDA - 1x per day (1 total) With Breakfast: Multi Vitamin plus Minerals - 1x per day (1 total) Ferrous Sulfate (Iron) - 1x per day (1-2 total) One hour before dinner: Calcium Citrate Lozenge from Bariatric Advantage (I forget half the time!) Omega 3-6-9 (4x per week or when I remember) Before Bed: Last dose of Calcium Citrate, 2 Pills Biotin, 2,500 mcg That is a lot, but it has kept me healthy with all of the rapid weight loss and my hefty workouts. There are a lot of vitamins/minerals in all Protein shakes too! In time I plan to reduce the amount I'm taking, especially one dose of calcium and the biotin as well since my hair loss has stopped, finally.

Breast Loss
Breast Augmention. No reconstruction was necessary though, so just "refilled".

Breast Loss
I can tell you that my boobs hung in there for a good long time. They stayed a full D until my last 20 Lbs lost. Then they literally shrunk to lil bitties and lost the fullness bad. I could've went down to a B cup but since I was planning my BA I chose not to waste any mney on new bras. I just got them refilled 2 weeks ago and they look fantastic now. In fact, I don't think they've ever looked so good, and I used to have some great boobies!!!
-
Is this restriction, eating too fast or food doesn't agree with me????
Okay then yes it sounds to me like maybe you're either eating too fast or too large bites. Make your bites pea sized and space out each bite by a minute or two. You won't have to eat like this forever, just for the first month or 6 weeks. Good luck!

My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)
Awww thank you!!! I love make up so much! I really want to learn how to do the smokey eye like Olivia on Jerseylicious.

How often do you take measurements?
Though it's been a few months now, I normally do it on a monthly basis. In the beginning I was doing it every few weeks. I would also record them and match them to the month or weeks prior to watch the inches melt away. Do it at least monthly and at most bi-weekly and you will see a difference in one place or another. Also, measure all your body parts, like arms upper and lower, thighs and calves, ankles, wrists, neck... all that!!! It's such a great tool, especially when the scale is being greedy.

Like everyone else, I"m suspecting you have knocked out your electrolytes balances. This is not only potassium but Calcium and magnesium as well. Try adding in more zero calories sports drinks, or like Stary mentioned, take them in pill form. I do every single day. I know when I forget because I immediately get muscle cramps. Good luck!! You're really doing fabulous!!

How far out from surgery are you? I remember getting those pains too for the first 2-3 weeks post op. I would even take tiny sips, wait in between - it just didn't matter. Every swallow hurt. If this is what's happening to you, just know that it's quite normal in a lot of us and it will go away in a few weeks. Continue to take tiny sips, or itty bitty bites, wait a little between each one and definitely measure your portions. *hugs*

My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)
I know that's right!! To heck with all the negative Nellies. If they only knew what I've been through in my life, they'd never do it. Anyway, yes, you're going to love your sleeve and everything else that goes along with it. I know I do!!! TGoodness for surgeries, of all types. Heehee Keep me updated on your progress!! That's good information to be aware of. Thank you!

My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)
Whooopsss!!! I forgot to mention that I have completely changed my Liposuction Appts. They are now going to be performed in November. It's a really good thing I did some finding out that they had me scheduled with 2 different surgeons... which was a mistake. They don't like to do that, so it's all re-situated and I've already gotten the time off from work. I think I'm only going to work 15 days in the entire month of November, with 2 Holidays and 2 RDO's squeezed in there, plus the 5 days off for recovery time. Yeahh!! I can deal with that!! My first Liposuction Appt will be on Wednesday November 2nd. They will remove fat from my inner thighs and around my knees. My second Liposuction Appt will be on Friday November 18th. They will remove fat from my outter thigh (saddle bags) and around my waist. I can't wait!! I am glad though that it was postponed. I like the idea of healing from the BA first.

Wow I'm so sorry to hear that! If you don't mind, what were the symptoms... just so I would, or anyone reading this would know what to look out for?

Tell me about your 1st stall......
You are doing excellent, and your losses are spot on and very normal.

My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)
Thanks favoredone! I can't say enough how happy I am that I did this! You would be too, if that is what you choose to do. Nothing at all wrong with wanting too look great. Sure, that did have some things to do with why I had this surgery, though I always say my health was the number one reason, and it really was... but again, I do care how I look!!! So today is 2 weeks post op. I'm still feeling some soreness, especially in the nipple area. Also the skin around the breast feels kinda prickly, but better than the numbness I suppose I felt for the first week post op. According to the gal who helped remove my stitches last week she said it can take an entire 4 months before I get fully healed and to know how my breasts will end up looking. Great thing though is my swelling is FINALLY starting to subside some and the boobs are starting to feel more bouncy and look more real. It's kinda weird though because when I'm walking I can feel them bouncing around and I'm so NOT USED TO THAT!! LOL!! Not even when my breasts were larger and real. I would harness them really good though, and the Dr.s bra is somewhat "freedom" giving... if that makes any sense at all. Hahaaa!!! I can tell you this, once that 6 weeks is up and I can start wearing any bra I want, I will be harnessing these girls once again. They are very flamboyant... heehee!! Here's some photos I just took right now. As you can see, the swelling toward the top of the breast has gone down a lot, and they look to be dropping some. Full dropping & fluffing (D&F according to the BA world) takes the whole 3-4 months. Good luck to any ladies planning to do this!! Again... don't regret a darned thing.

What made you do it?
Not for me, I do take my Hubby's suggestions seriously always. In fact he and I discussed this thoroughly before proceeding. He was completely supportive and he was the driving force to make the final decision. He's never led me astray! But this is another topic entirely.

What was the last movie you watched?
Ooohh thanks! I want to see Apollo 18...

Feeling full on the sleeve. What it like?
This is exactly what full feels like to me as well. I honestly don't even remember what the old "real" full sensation even feels like anymore. I haven't felt that since before 2008, pre Lap-Band. Eventually I guess that will be true for all of us. You do get used to the new full sensations. Right now drinking fluids only you're likely to not feel full. When you get to more solids, you will start to feel it. I've noticed there are two post op camps, those who can eat/drink like normal and those who absolutely can't. I was in the CAN'T camp for sure. All the best!

Bowflex treadclimber... good or bad???
Let me know how you like it! I'm ready for a new addition to the home gym.

What was the last movie you watched?
My last viewed film was The Help. Loved it!!!! It made me cry, but then again little doesn't. I even cried when Odie was adopted on a Garfield cartoon. I was 18 then, so it counts. Anyway, I highly recommend it, and bring the Kleenex.

What was the last movie you watched?
It can be any movie, new old - whtever!!! Please though... try not to give away too much of the movie!! No one likes a spoiler.

This is weird, but did anyone ask...
Well, I didn't ask to see it so I'm not sure if he would've let me if I did ask. That said, I remember awhile ago someone posted on here that they asked their Surgeon if they could actually keep it... like in a Mason jar or something. I don't think they were able to... LOL Good luck on your journey.

Tell me about your 1st stall......
The 3rd week stall typically lasts about 3-5 weeks. However, mine only lasted about 10 days I think. Good luck!
