My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)
Hi Daisy! Well, thanks sweetie for your kind comments!! I can tell you this, when I first got out of surgery my entire breasts were completely numb. It was the weirdest thing in the world! I actually remember reaching down to grab them after I woke up and I seen how huge they were. I kinda giggled but they were so dumbed out! The feeling is coming back though. The only spot that doesn't have any feeling back yet is the very top of the breast. My nipps have regained sensation. In fact they are super SUPER hypersensitive. They're even feel painful, like I'm having PMS or something. I see my surgeon on Monday and I'll ask him if that will go away... ugghhh!! HDub, thank you SO much for chiming in. I am also having the headlights shining all day too. It's quite embarrassing so I try to cover up with layers of clothing and shirts that aren't so tight. It does help some, but if you might tell me where I can find the silicone pasties, I'd run out and get some. THANK YOU!!!

Need to lose 10-15 lbs in 7 days....HELP ME
Is this official knowledge? I mean, did your Surgeon tell you this personally? I'm just curious because this is not something I usually hear about unless its the Pre-Opt diet. If you really do need to lose this weight then my best suggestion would be to do as low of carbs as you can stand it. That really does seem to help folks lose high numbers, especially in the first two weeks. Try looking up Atkins or South Beach. Good luck!!!

Where theres a Will theres a Way BUT......
I completely understand the financial aspect. It really will be worth it all in the end though. Remember too that you will save money in other areas, such as eating less food, less medical costs... and many other things, so it will likely balance itself out. Especially since, as you mentioned it will get better after tax refunds, etc. That's really only about 6 months from now, and trust me that will go really fast.

Where theres a Will theres a Way BUT......
Hi Echo, I think there are a great deal many of us who have always put the needs of our loved ones above our own. No, there is really nothing wrong with that... until YOU become affected. By that I mean your health, even mentally. Give your Hubby and children the best gift ever this CHRISTmas... that would be a long, fulfilling life with you. *hugs*

How many total inches have you shrunk???
To Dream: FABULOUS!!!! You're doing really great! LOL!! Your comment took me a little by surprise... I more prefer the inches lost and clothing size approach myself. Wishing you much success on the 6's!! BTW, Dr. Cirangle was my first choice... I just couldn't pay his charges, unfortunately. For you, that's awesome.

Does it take 2 or 3 weeks to recover?
Actually, and surprisingly with my busy desk I really didn't come back to too many problems. Of course this doesn't mean you won't! Yes, my co-workers had to pitch in while I was away a little bit but it didn't seem to bother them too much. I did though choose a time where I knew my work ebbed rather than flowed. That might be an option too. And you are right, it's better to take too much time off rather than not enough.

Vanity sizes
Yep this is a cold hard fact!!! Really I should be wearing probably size 14 right now, but alas, I am not. LOL It's fine, I mean, whatever. They also didn't have Size 0, 00, or 000 back in the day either, and I'm thinkin I'll probably never fit those sizes. Matter of fact, the vanity sizing started back in the 70's. Folks like to harp that Marilyn Monroe wore a Size 14... that said, her waist was a 28. In today's so called "real" sizes, that is a size 6. I don't even fit size 6/28... but I'm able to get size 4's on in other clothes. It's a wacky world!!

Six month stall: broken!
Fantastic!!!! :clap2: I love working toward a lower body fat % rather than solely going by the BMI scales. I'm working to get mine below 30%, which will be pretty much in line with your goal, being that women should have about 10% more body fat than men. Right now I can't workout but I have bought some devices that will help me to keep measure on my body fat %... and last time I checked I'd gotten to around 32%. Not bad. It's strange too that when you're building muscle and losing fat, the scale definitely isn't a good measure on how well you're doing. From the looks of it, I'll be either just above the BMI for normal or just below, which is perfect A-OK with me. Cheers and good luck to you!! Though, I know you do not need luck... you got the will and that's what's really needed here. Get CUT!!!

Does it take 2 or 3 weeks to recover?
Hi Shea, Well I can tell you my experience and maybe that will help you make a decision for yourself. I am a very active person, and I was pre-sleeve as well. I could workout for hours and never really felt any kind of "tiredness" pre surgery. That said, I'm absolutely GLAD I took 3 full weeks off from work. This surgery was pretty tough for me. I did feel a lot of fatigue, and trying to figure out how to eat and drink with the sleeve was a chore in itself. I also have a sit down job, but much like you its a more active role. I have to get up from my desk a lot to run papers, forms or files around here and there. I would feel so run down and beat up after work for the first few weeks back too. I would sneak little cat naps in the quiet room daily until I finally started to get all my energy back. Whatever you decide, just do what's best for you. Good luck!

Booyah!
Oh yeah!!!! I always say, the sleeve was sooo worth it all!!! That is great! Keep up the excellent work, and cheers on your journey. *hugs*

MY GOODNESS!! TMI for some
I do notice it more if I'm eating Beans. I never passed gas so much before!! Or at least I don't recall it. LOL I do get gas from Protein shakes as well. Oh well!! I'd rather be a fart knocker than fat!!

How many total inches have you shrunk???
It's been a few weeks, but Feel Good Friday is BAA-AAA-ACK!!! Staying positive and reflecting on all the joys of weight loss and for me the more important SIZE LOSS is really important. This is a tough journey, full of emotional ups and downs. But, today - is an UP DAY!! I'm down nearly 90" off my entire body!!! WHOOOTTT!! Please note, I only started keeping track of inches at around 300 Lbs... so I'm sure it's quite a bit more. BE PROUD & SAY IT LOUD!!

I know that's right!! But then we start talking about addiction transfer... LOL

how long is the 3 week stall?
Yep, majority of us will get this dreaded stall. It starts at around week 2-3 Post Op and from what I've seen will last anywhere from 3 weeks long through around 5 weeks long. Just keep doing all the right things, it will pass. Promise!!

So excited that I got a date and it will be sooner than I expected!

Torani syrup--where to find them?
If you can't find Torani, DaVinci is nearly exactly the same thing. I find them at Costco, or really any grocery store. Like Southern said, it's not a necessity. I don't use them too often, but they're nice to have around if you're craving a sweet coffee or something. They're great to add to protein shakes too.

How often do you take measurements?
FANTASTIC!!! :bounce:

Breast Loss
That's how I was too in the beginning, and things held on for a good long time. But once I realized they just disappeared and I wasn't happy with them, I changed my mind. One thing I don't do anymore is say I'll never do this or that. If I did, I wouldn't have gotten my sleeve or any WLS and I'd still be fat today! Nothing wrong at all with when all is said and done feeling great about yourself. I think you're doing awesome, and good for you for keeping an open mind.
