  1. Oh my! I cant imagine going through it a third time.... Thanks for all these responses. You guys ARE the best! I guess with my reflux/heartburn flaring up lastnight - Im getting a little paranoid :nervous Basically, if something happens to this band... I WANT another one!
  2. Thanks everyone! Ive eaten pudding and a couple of cheese cubes this morning - and, with taking another prilosec - the discomfort seems to be better. I really should be on liquids - but Im soooo hungry!
  3. LOL.. you got me!!! Thanks for the reminder...
  4. This is something Ive wondered for a long time... If you are diagnosed with erosion and your band is removed - after a length of time - can you get another band?
  5. Not sure if this needs to be addressed or not, but... yesterday around 4pm, I ate 1/2 chicken breast (just the meat) from Wendy's. It was too dry, so I chunked the rest. Around 5ish I started feeling the urge to pb. I did - about 4 times in total... finally got rid of that dry chicken. Yuck! About an hour later, I drank 2 cups of my Int. coffee - eveything seemed fine. Later, I started feeling some discomfort, so I went to Walmart and picked up some prilosec... (Ive havent taken it for about a week, checking to see if I still needed it) I also bought a box of Cheese-It Hot N Spicy crackers and ate a handful on the way home. *I KNEW this was a mistake, but I was starving!* THEN the drama begins... when I went to bed, I felt this burning feeling in my throat - like heartburn (since banding, Ive had reflux, but never heartburn - does that make sense?) I took my prilosec and dozed off. Around 1am I woke up with the most horrible *strong* burning pain in my throat/heart area - much worse then just the reflux. My mouth was even salivating - like I needed to vomit (not pb)... this was painful! I kept coughing, like i had something caught in my throat. FINALLY, I drank a little Water and it seemed to 'cool' things off. This was a new experience for me... the burning pain, "feeling like something is caught" feeling. And I kept burping those darn spicy crackers.... maybe it was the 'tobasco' in those crackers that cause this level of pain?! Thismorning my throat area STILL feels a discomfort... a dull ache. Mostly when I take a deep breath. Im wondering if I should call my doctor - just to get their opinion... Or maybe I should just 'wait and see'??? **Leatha, I thought I remembered you saying that you take prilosec everyday - and if you skip a few days, your tummy starts acting up... please refresh my memory regarding this**
  6. OMGosh... PENNI!!!!! YOU LOOK AWESOME!!!!! And your girls are so pretty... I can see your genes in both of them! That personal trainer is definately paying for itself! You go!!! (BTW, I want that stripped shirt you are wearing)
  7. Trish, girl - I cant believe that came fom you... how funny!!!
  8. allergies, pms, stress (I know you dont have that though), lack of sleep - too much sleep... who knows?!?!? Just enjoy it while you can
  9. Marie, so very sorry to hear that you are having this problem... goodness! Are you having to stay off your feet for any length of time? *wishing you a very quick recovery* BTW: I noticed that you said you took some advil... just be careful - Advil isnt band friendly!
  10. Hi bigmom. I LOVE Matzo... and yes, I actually had it about a week ago. Like Kelly said, just break it up and/or take small bites. Everything went down fine! (especially the wine)
  11. Yeeaahh Vera!!! This is really good news. Now you will have some peace over all of this mess. This may be too soon to ask, but does this mean that Inamed paid for the whole thing???
  12. Now you have me wondering.... how come I didnt get to keep any pictures of my swallow???? Did you ask Spiegels office for this, or did the Hosp give them to you? Are you able to eat and drink now? And Kelly, THANK you for posting these photos. Very good to show those that are newbies!
  13. Bad, Bad Daisydoodle...
  14. Hi Delarla - missed you the last few days... It was a animated video of just the band and showed a needle injecting fluid in the port and the stoma closing. This make better sense?
  15. Adding to what Delarla said.... The stoma is the opening that the band provides. When I was 'investigating' this type of surgery, I found a site that has a video of the band and how it works... no longer have it
  16. OMG... you people are too funny! Around this house, its more the size that counts... "Mom, come see this BIG strip I put out", another regular phrase is "Paula, that one was so big, it took 2 flushes and then the plunger to get it down." And whats the deal with these men taking a 'mini vacation' on the toilet???

LOL.. Crystal, 23 inches is still awesome! I think thats all Ive lost in my total banded life! And youre just less then a month into this! I sure hope you took some 'before' photos.
  18. Sadly, this was a shock for me to learn after I was banded. I thought the band was going to magicaly make the hunger disappear. And it should... after the first, second or sometimes even a third fill - will take the hunger away. Hang in there... until you get your first fill, try to maintain your weight loss. Drink lots of Water between meals, this should help!
  19. Whats funny is that right after banding -during my 2 weeks of liquids- my cola cravings disappeared! Even the *thought* of drinking a carbonated beverage was uncomfortable. Oh sure, I still have a sip here and there of hubby's, but never had my own can/glass. Dont worry, youll most likely feel the same way... most of us do(maybe even ALL of us)!
  20. How true, and popcorn is one! Most of the time, chips are very easy to go down. Ive been eating alot of popcorn lately and feeling like I can eat more... so I try to eat a handful of cheese cubes before digging into the popcorn - this seems to help me not eat the entire bag and when finished - go looking for more!

Denise, Carrie DID do a great job lastnight... so did Vonzell - I really like her. Im with you, either Anthony the Ukranian guy or Jessica will probably wave goodbye! Im editing to add this news article that I just found on the Fox News site. This is for all those that LOVED Mikalah and want more of her... Ex-'Idol' Mikalah Gordon Seeks Sitcom Tuesday, March 29, 2005 Hey Hollywood execs, fallen "American Idol" wannabe Mikalah Gordon wants a sitcom deal. "I realize that I'm a big drama queen, and I think that I'm gonna try to get my own sitcom, and I know that 'The Nanny' [Fran Drescher] is coming out with her new sitcom, and if she needs a daughter, I'm her girl," Gordon told the popular TV news Web site, Zap2it. Drescher's new show, "Living with Fran," debuts on The WB network next month. During Gordon's brief but memorable run on "American Idol," the 17-year-old Las Vegas girl was ripped by fans who wrote on numerous Internet message boards that she would do better in a Drescher impersonation contest than on the Fox talent show. "I realized that I love to be on the stage and perform and talk, and I love to make people laugh," says Gordon, who claims that she's already received some offers
  22. Yeah Jenna!!! Isnt that a great feeling??? Very few things can beat seeing that scale go down!
  23. wow Lisa.... you look great. Your avator shows you even smaller... youre getting to be skinny, girl!
  24. Hi Kris... WELCOME to LBT!!! Wow... our April bandsters are growing day by day. Where ya from???

I am NOT a tv person - actually I watch very little - not even the evening news. But there is something about this show... why the heck do I look so forward to it?? (sigh) wonder what Bo's gonna sing tonight?
