  1. MAN! I am SOOO glad you came back and updated us. THANK YOU!:clap2: Couple of questions... The reflux stuff, is it GERD or heartburn that you're having? Do you still get the head hunger (or emotional eating)? Although the band helps with my actual hunger, I find that I eat just because I want to. The VG side affects doesnt seem bad at all. Through all the readings Ive done - IF my band was taken, Id have (try to) the VG! Thanks again!
  2. Hey Mary! Hope your special day is wonderful!! You deserve it! :happybday2:
  3. Hi Trish! Hope you are having a FANTASTIC Day. :happybday: :o :happybday:
  4. :peace: OH, HAPPY DAY in Band Land!! :peace: (Thank you Mr. Alex **kisses**)
  5. THROW IT IN THE TRASH!!! The BIG trash can (outside) - cause if you throw it inside you (I would) could get it out and nibble on it. My mother FREAKS everytime I tell her that I bought something, brought it home and threw it in the trash before I brought it in the house. How dare I throw good food (junk crap) away! I *honestly* think there is a mental consolation that happens when I actually purchase it... with all intent to eat it. But before I get it into my body, I chunk it. When its all over, it ends up in the trash OR the toilet, right? Id prefer the trash get it. :nervous
  6. Hi oreilly, Im going to counter what the others have recommended here - I say go for a small McD's shake - NOT large, but a small one. One a day will do. This was the ONLY thing that saved my life right after banding. I needed the thick substance and possibly the carbs that it contained. Plus - its yogurt, so your not doing 100% bad. The protien drinks never did it for me (yuck ). Oh, and Cream of chicken soup seemed to do well for me.
  7. :biggrin1: (((are you sure you arent Jack - indisguise??))):biggrin1: Im copying and pasting to my email. Ive got a cousin in Hick Hell that will make great milage off of this....... Thanks SO MUCH for the laugh!
  8. That IS neat Sarah! Im laughing at the Chiro. saying, "What IS that?" In THIS day & age, I bet they see all sorts of strange objects in patients through x-ray!!!

Hey Alex - its ok! There's a reason for everything. This new job interest might have been the kick you needed to get you to where you should be! Keep searching Baby Girl. Dont give up! ((hugs)) ...and dont let the disappointment get you into the ice cream tonight, k!?! :biggrin1: :biggrin1:
  10. Christian (P&W) and classic rock. 'carry on my wayward son, there'll be peace when you are done' - Kansas. ((hope these are the right words - cause its what I sing :biggrin1:))
  11. Diane, Its no longer Fruity Pebbles that gets my scale un-movin'.... Ive now advanced to the Reeces's Peanut Butter Cereal. mmmmm...mmmmm... good! :hungry: Amy, have you lots any weight yet? I really really really want to do this diet, but Im just too darn lazy to write down the ingredients and go grocering for them. Kathy, how are YOU doing with it? If you tell me that you're below 180 - I am SO out the door and to the store for this stuff...... :biggrin1:

My insomnia happens before I go to sleep... just lay there with my eyes closed for the longest. Every now and then I take just plain tylenol and it relaxes me enough to make me doze off. Ive heard that melatonin works well.
  13. awe Mandy - sweet baby's you have there. Thanks for sharing! Darcy, thanks for the no-digging suggestions. Boy, do I need help with that!
  14. Donna, I LOVE your family picture. Lastnight me and Anne were looking at this thread. When she saw your picture she sparked - wanting to know WHO you were. She studied everyone - but most especially your daughter. She said, "Mom, she's like ME. SHE has 2 brothers and I have 2 brothers." Something about that connection made her smile. :biggrin1: Beautiful family you have!!!
  15. This really should be on the before and after thread. my befores
  16. and here's a recent photo of Mommy Dearest (me). This was on Easter Sunday (is that the ONLY time we take pictures around here??) I remember taking this picture to show K@t what 180 pounds looks like - but I chickened out posting it.
  17. Here is a photo of my Anne (on the left) and her friend Katy playing in the dirt. little GIRLS playing in the dirt - lovin every minute of it.
  18. Darcy, I got the pond (to the right) as a gift from Mike and the kids for Mothers Day. Most people would be thrilled with this kind of gift. I wasnt. It became the damn dogs Water bowl - the DAY I got it. So I tried to make the best out of it. I bought several flowers and plants to decorate around it. You know, kinda hide the mop/broom area. I wanted to make it my own santuary (prayer space). Ha! THIS is what he did to ALLLLLLLL of the plants and flowers I bought. I cried - literally. I hate this dog. And to make it worst, it looks like he's smiling at me in this picture. :tired
  19. I love pictures! Cindy, you -definately- need to update your avator!! MAJOR change in your looks ~WOW~! You are so pretty... and your daughter, what a cutie-pie. Darcey, I L O V E the new hair-do on you avator pic. Your are looking great! Eileen, everytime I read something you wrote, I crack up! What a great before and after pic! Jana, My goodness, your picture touches my soul... what beauty!
  20. My MIL mixes about a Tea. with something like a 1/3 cup of water (Im giving approx's here) - and sips it. She said that it doesnt take long for the food to 'unclog'. But remember, she had her stomach stapled - WE have a band. Im not sure who has tried this with the lapband (or if it even works).
  21. Momabear, WELCOME to LapBandTalk! I had MY surgery when my kids were 8, 3 and 1 years old. The fear of not being an active parent or possibly dying at a young age due to obesity related problems was a bigger fear for me then having the LapBand surgery. I have never never never regretted having WLS. NEVER! Just wish I wouldve done something sooner. Good luck!
  22. Diane, Maybe we celebrated this moment somewhere else, but did you just hit ONEderland? :biggrin1: as far as the fickle band goes, this happens to me (crazy increase of restriction) a day or two before my cycle. Im keeping up with this thread cause Im interested in trying it too.
  23. My MIL had her stomach stapled a million years ago. She uses the meat tenderizer (Adolphs brand only) when she feels something is "stuck". She said that it works on everything - not just meat. Ive never had the gumption (balls!) to try it.
  24. I HATE this damn dog....
  25. Yes! But it took a while after my second fill for me to be able to do it. I guess I loosened up. ??? I chug water all the time, as long as the water is room temp. If the water is ice cold - then I have to take it slower.
