WATER Challenge
See, this is what motivation is all about. Just thinking about all of you made me down 20oz's right before bedtime. Doesnt matter if I was up twice in the middle of the night, just as long as Im TRYING to get in my daily Water. Lisa, where did you get that little water bottle? That is a really neat idea.

Aggravated, but Campbell's Soup at Hand is Good!!
Kelly, I cant believe I missed this thread!!! I am so sorry... Ive been having alot of problem with reflux too, but when Im swollen, I can still swallow my spit. I would pb Water, but never my saliva. You poor thing!!! I cant believe that Spiegel doesnt have a "back-up"??? What about the radiologist at Doctors Hosp??? I agree. And as long as everything is irritating your esphogus (sp?) -reflux, pb, vomit, certain foods - nothing is going to heal. Ive just thought all of this through on Tuesday, MY last episode of this crap. Try Fruit drinks... fruit is the easiest thing for our tummy's to digest, and its nourshing! NOT bottles of apple juice, Im talking about the single cans of peach necter, pear necter... less acid in these. Also, MOST restaurants have chedder brocolli Soup (Ruby Tusday's, Cracker Barrel), this is another one that helped FILL my tummy and was easy to digest. The restaurant's seem to make it thicker - and taste better. Im agreeing with Lisa to stick with warm things. I even drink my water at room temp most of the time... just to avoid that "stopped-up" feeling. I still cant get over Speigel not having someone to take his emergencies!!! PLEASE - please complain to HIM. This is a man that is making MILLIONS, and can afford to train someone to give unfills for situations like this

Attack of the Killer PB
ROTFLMAO, Curley - YOU ARE CRACKING ME UP!!!!! For those that are not sure what a PB (productive burp) is..... (this is not a professional opinion, just an experienced one ) Sometimes when we eat too much, too often, wrong food at the wrong time, or just at the wrong time (in the mornings for most of us), we can actually feel the food getting stuck in the stoma - the opening into the larger part of our stomach. This is what is happening when we refer to the pain in our chest or back area or the choking feeling. And, if for some reason we are not able to pass this, we get the urge to bring the food back up. Now this is where people get confused. This is NOT vomiting. The food that was bothering us never made it to the stomach, so there is no stomach acid involved. Basically, its just chewed food. To make people feel better about this, I usually tell them that its just like chewing your food and spitting it out - like most of us have done to avoid calories . And for me, when I get this urge to burp, it actually produces the food that was causing the problem. Thus the term, Productive Burp came about. Let me add that some bandsters do this, some do NOT, some do this VERY seldom, and some do it often. I think it depends on each persons digestive system. Sorry Lisa for stealing your thread. I thought this would be helpful for the new ones! Now that Ive written this big long post, I was just thinking that there is probably a site that gives a much better explaination on what a PB is.

WATER Challenge
Oh my goodness, Ryan, thats horrible! Is she ok? Lisa, Thanks for the information about Water and tea. I agree 100%. I never thought about the cold weather contributing to not drinking much water, but it makes sense to me! I need about 10 more oz's to finish the day!

Attack of the Killer PB
lol... it does Lisa!!! But this happened to me when we were taking a trip, on the intersate doing about 75mph. No time to pull over. It was one of those moments (like she said) that there was NO stopping it. (I know, how gross.) All I could do was... never mind, thats TOO many details!

Attack of the Killer PB

WATER Challenge
Amen!!! I say those of us that CAN, report in everyday, or as often as you are able to. I was told once that it takes a habit two weeks to form... so lets try doing this for at least two weeks - just like the exercise challenge! BTW, I have to give Michelle credit for giving me the idea of using a 20oz Aquafina bottle and refilling it. It helps ME keep on track of my water intake. Great idea Michelle, Thanks! Ryan, if drinking 10 cups helps YOU, Brother, thats fine with us too!

WATER Challenge
OK guys, its Monday morning. I need to get my butt back into high gear. No weight loss, feeling slow and sleepy from all the holiday carbs, eating too much and too often.... I need help! So Im getting back to the basic's - Water intake! I (honestly speaking here) am only drinking about 20 oz's a day - ouch! And I feel it. So TODAY is the day!!!! Ive got my two - 20oz AquaFina water bottles full and Im determined to drink each one - 2 times! So thats 80oz's of water, a little more then 1/2 a gallon. This should be enough to get me started in the right direction. ANYONE else interested in this challenge??? Ive never done a challenge before, so I have no idea on the rules. I just know that I need help.... YOUR help!!!!!!!

Early Christmas Morning and what do I do?
Michelle... no wonder you are getting skinny on us?!?!?! Girl, 9am and youve done all of that??? Your metobolism must be in over load. The truth must be told, I am OCD too! When things get "out of order", I start breathing heavy and getting this overwhelmed feeling. I start working in warp speed. Actually I get to be a complete B#TCH until thing gets back "in order". Its almost like a Jeckel and Hyde thing. Once everything gets straight, Im back to normal (what is normal anyway???). No wonder Mike takes Paxil - its to put up with me and my OCD! Betty, I had to check in lastnight. The only reason I wasnt here yesterday morning is because I didnt feel like hearing, "(sigh) Mom's on the computer again". Jammin and loosin..... Welcome! Glad to meet you!

Does the band ever need to be replaced years later?
This is a great question. When several of us bandsters gathered in Galveston a few weeks back, this was something that was brought up. None of us knew the answer. Not sure if the band has been around longterm (10+ years) for ANY of us to know the answer. But Ive wondered the same thing. I just wanted to acknowledge your post. So, like you, Ill wait for others to reply.

Just a venting thread
More venting... I havent been drinking my Water - the most is maybe 8 oz's a day. It started when we went to NC for Thanksgiving. Thats when I got off my wagon and STILL havent gotten back on it. I gained 3 pounds during that week. Im saying this because I too am struggling. Even though Im having this pb/reflux crap going on, Im still struggling. Im making poor food choices, and need I mention drinking little water. We need another challenge. A water intake/better food choice challenge. Just to prove how crazy Ive been lately, I even bought a loaf of white bread yesterday. Do you know how long its been since Ive bought white bread for my family??? We have been eating brown/wheat bread for YEARS. What is going on???? When I am eating right, my family eats right. When I eat wrong, the family eats wrong. So sister Penni, you are NOT alone. Glad to know Im not either!

Reflux: Probably Too Tight
Michelle, I agree! Everything he says is exactly what Im going through. I first PB, then the reflux; go on liquids, then to solids, then I PB again, then the reflux....... a vicious cycle. Food is going down well though. Im like alot of folks that think that the only symptoms a bandster has of being filled too tight is when water can't even go down.... not so! Thanks for this information!

Reflux: Probably Too Tight
New Bandster, MY symptoms of reflux started with food actually coming back up into my throat when I would lay down. It would usually happen when I was falling asleep and relaxing. I would suddenly wake up choking on vomit... kinda graphic - sorry! FYI - Ive tried several things, including not eating 3 hours before going to bed. Didnt really help. Ive slept with my head elevated, then I get sleep apnea, so that didnt help either. I realize that for me, it has everything to do with pbing. The reflux only happens when I have a strong pb that day. Thank Michelle and Betty for your consolation. I was hoping that Marie would give me her input. I remember her having something like this.
