OK, Ive been doing pretty good lately. Eating decent size meals, lots of Water, no eating after 8pm... done so well that Ive even broken that little plateau I was on. Hadnt even PB'd in about 4 weeks. UNTIL... Thursday!! Mom called and invited us over for supper. Yummm - I love going there to eat, better then any restaurant! So, we get there, I fix our food and sit down to eat and - OH NO!!!! Major restriction. (PMS) But the PIG in my just couldnt resist eating. So I ate. Of coarse you know what happened... ended up having to PB. Then had the reflux when it was time for bed. Its been down hill ever since. PB'd yesterday, and again today. Just when I was getting the hang of this new fill (new - being 3 months ago) now I have to start all over again. If only I wouldnt have eaten at Mom's.... (sigh)

Marie, I used the rub-on kind last summer too. And yes, they work! I think I used the Neutragena (sp?) brand. Looks like I may have to use it again... I was trying to get a more even look - and one that last longer. (sigh) I heard the air bush tanning stays for about a week. oh no! I just re-read you post Marie... the spray-on leaves you orange??? Yuck!

OMG... Kelly!!! Im really wanting a tan - these fat white legs are too blinding. Ive had the laser treatment on my face & cant get into a tanning bed until MUCH later in the Spring, so THATs why I need an alternate way of tanning..... (sigh)

Tracy, I gained restriction a few weeks after both of my fills (4 to 6 weeks later). And it has taken about 8 weeks for me to chug Water again... something I am very happy about. But I must take a couple of sips first to make sure my stoma is open before I start downing the water. Also, I keep my water at room temp. which makes it easier for me to chug. When it was refrigerated (cold) I had to take it slower. Definately! Thats VERY normal. And remember, other things in our enviroments can aid in restricion... like PMS, stress, nervousness. Good luck on this new level of restriciton. Let the losing begin!!!!

Hi Mandy, I agree with Marie. First thing you need to do is contact your insurance comp an see if they cover WLS. Thats the BIG question. If so, they should give you specifics on what is needed to gain approval. Each insurance company has different qualifications. Good luck

Rejection.... ANY type. Thats what hampers my weight loss. When things are running smooth in my daily life, I can do well with my eating. I think we classify this as emotional eating.

Greg, you always have a happy ending! Thats a good one. Blossom, Boy, can I relate. My dad's parents did the same thing to me. About Bee's and bee hives... Mikes dad has several hives at their house. And they always give us jars of fresh honey. Folks have NO idea what they are missing if theyve never tried a homemade biscuit and fresh honey.... making my mouth Water. I can remember going to spend the night with my grandparents nearly every friday night. Papaw would go sleep in the other bedroom so me and my older sister could sleep with Mamaw. By 7am Mamaw would already have started her 'dinner' (lunch) cause they would ALWAYS eat at 10:30 sharp. I remember waking up to the smell of a roast cooking in the oven or one of her delicious stews bubbling. Funny how certain smells can actually take you back to their house in the flash of a moment. I was about 5 and had just gotten a new pair of shoes that day. It must have been on a Friday cause we went and spent the night with the grand's that night. I LOVED those shoes so much that I wanted to sleep with them ON my feet. And of coarse Mamaw let me. Well, the next morning poor ole Mamaw couldnt walk - I had kicked her so much during the night with my new shoes that she was bruised (never complained though). When she was lying on her death bed (still able to communicate) - she and I talked about the fun things we used to do. She reminded me of this story... we both cried.

Mary, your story gave me chills.... wow. Your grandmother must have had an abundance of love for you. Kelly, I cried when I read yours. How sweet, the blanket memory.... awe! My dad is an only child. His parents were typical depression era people - very tight, tight and VERY tight. But they lived on the next street from us, so we were close to them - we were all they had, and they were all we had. Funny how God works... Mike and I bought our first home right down the street from them. So, grandparents were down the street and parents were on the next street. Close family . Anyway, so many times I can remember walking my kids - whether they were in a stroller or just learning to ride a tricycle - "down to Mamaw and Papaw's house". Well, in mid December 02 I had my third child. The day after Christmas my grandpa brought me a big bag of over ripped banana's that he had gotten at the market for .99c. During this visit, I can remember him holding my new baby and just looking at him... something I had never seen him do with the first 2. (makes me cry) He had a different spirit about him that day. He laughed, talked about the baby looking like his people (and he still does). That visit was the last time I saw him. He passed away in his sleep 3 days later.

Betty, your mom would go into the bathroom to smoke??? LOL... too funny. See, even in those days kids were trying to fool their parents. (I bet your grandmother knew) Penni, LMBO!!! My sweet ole frail grandma would say that word all of the time. ok, here's one of mine... My grandparents (mom's) were poor, simple, country style folks, VERY comical! They had some friends that would visit them from time to time and the problem with this was that they would stink (the friends) - underarm pitt smell, dirty a$$ - whatever kind of smell, they had a very strong odor! Well, Mawmaw LOVED vick's vapor rub - always had a jar close by *Vicks has a very strong menthal smell*. Before these people would come to visit, my grandmother would tidy up things and slip the jar of 'vicks' into her duster pocket. Once they arrived and everyone was sitting around visiting - and their smell was getting strong, Mawmaw would take out her jar of 'vicks' and dab some in each of her nostrils. Voila! The smell was gone - for her! Whats so funny is that she would do it so secretly that unless you were paying attention to her, you never realized what she did.

Bright, that sounds like a couple of geniune gangster names... LOL!

This is for all of us (Kathy) that have lost our grandparents - and want to share with others how wonderful they were. Lastnight I was listening to my 9yr old read a book called "Thunder Cake'. It was about a girl (the arthur) that went to visit her grandmother and while she was there, a thunderstorm started brewing. Her grandmother realized how scared she was and decided to help her 'overcome' this fear by making a cake (ha! having cake overcomes ALL my fears!) So she and her grandmother went to the barn to get certain ingredients for their cake, to the celler to get other things, then to the garden for something else. Did all of this while the thunder was booming in the sky... Thanks to her grandmothers wisdom, this little girl overcame her fear of thunder. Wonderful little story. (Ill post some of my own stories later)

LMBO.... funny, but true! Im thinking here... isnt there someone in the legal system that appoints a public defender for a person that cant afford one???? And how much of a donation are they wanting... 5, 20, 100 bucks here? Or more? Id probably trash it and forget about it... you know things get lost in the mail ALL of the time
