BCBS Georgia sleeve cost?
Has anyone delt with BCBS Georgia before? How much was your total cost? I went on their website and it quoted me around $3500. That's allot different from what they told my husband over the phone. I thought most/all of it was going to be covered. Does this seem like an accurate total? I have an appointment on the 13th and I'm hoping it's not $3500.

So Frustrated!
My surgeons office just called and said my secondary insurance UHC Plus will not cover Bariatric surgery and I will be responsible for the $5800 they don't cover. Being a family of seven I cannot magicaly come up with it. So my apts scheduled for next week have been canceled; ( I'm so heartbroken right now! I've done everything they asked of me; ( All my hard work was just flushed down the drain; ( I'm going to take a long bath and have a good cry; (( I wish my kids didn't have school today because I really need a hug; ((

Any Swimmer Bandsters?
That's awesome! I was wondering about the hot tub too. I will make sure I bring it up with my surgeon. How's your band going so far? Any pain or nausea? I'm starting to get nervous. I have my weigh in today and if all goes well, I will be scheduled for all my final appointment next week; )

Any Swimmer Bandsters?
On the 26th I'm going to be starting a medically supervised swim class. I'm hoping to be banded in late dec. How long after lapband did you go swimming? Has anyone with lapband had any port problems after swimming? Any tips before or after pool?

Any Future Banders In Reno Area?
You'reGonnaHearMeRoar replied to You'reGonnaHearMeRoar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&ABy altering the stomach it also reduces the amount of nutrients your body can absorb. There are certain Ms meds I take that cannot be crushed & need to absorb slowly. Thankfully they are small enough to take with the band. Lot's of people online crush there meds or use liquid meds & do great after the sleeve/band. Some even stopped having to take meds. I would love the sleeve but unfortunately it's not going to work for me. Just make sure you bring it up on your next doctor visit.

You'reGonnaHearMeRoar replied to You'reGonnaHearMeRoar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AI originally wanted the sleeve because I've seen & heard so many success stories, but I became worried about not being able to take MS Meds. Good luck to you on your weight loss journey! Keep me posted how your progress is going!

Day 1 of weight management program & already Frustrated
In order to have lapband Surgery my insurance is making me go through a 13 week wellness & weight managment program. It's going to end up costing me an additional $1250 for the food. The doctor(not my doc) I saw today was even trying to talk me out of the lapband surgery. She said most people are not successful with lapband. I Chose lapband because I have ms & I thought it was a safer surgery. I would love to here from someone with Ms that has been banded. Also if anyone had to complete a weight management program before surgery please feel free to get back to me.#Frustrated
