Has anyone delt with BCBS Georgia before? How much was your total cost? I went on their website and it quoted me around $3500. That's allot different from what they told my husband over the phone. I thought most/all of it was going to be covered. Does this seem like an accurate total? I have an appointment on the 13th and I'm hoping it's not $3500.

It really depends on your plan. Even within the same insurance company, different plans have different coverage. If you have a yearly maximum out-of-pocket, you will probably end up paying all of that up front by having surgery close to the beginning of the year. My out of pocket was mostly covered by the time I had surgery because of all of the labs, appointments and testing I had paid for throughout the year. You will really have to go online and study your plan details or get someone on the phone and press them for what it will actually cost you on the day of surgery. Do not accept general information from them. Get specific costs for your plan. The hospital will most likely require payment up front, unless you have made other arrangements in advance, so don't let the actual cost be a surprise. Good luck!

You number is only a few hundred dollars different but I am sure that is due to copay, deductibles, and premium amounts. Quick update: I called the insurance company and they said that the sleeve is fully covered under my plan(bcbs Georgia (live in Nv). I have to pay the yearly deductible which is $1500, and any other co-pays for doctor visits;) I'm so excited!!
