  1. I am 8 days post op and could eat a horse. My husband just left for night shift and these are the times when I usually binge my brains out because I don't have the guilt of eating in front of someone. Now since I am still healing I am sticking to band size portions (1/2 cup) and trying to stay busy. I just hate that the way I deal with being lonely, or bored, or sad, or happy is to eat my weight in crap. Going to make a cup of hot tea and read to try and keep my mind off food until dinner time. Just needed to vent. :-)
  2. I love a good latte. I get it with half the milk now and when I make coffee at home I use 1 Tb creamer. I am wayyyyyyy to addicted to give it up right now on top of bread, and soda.
  3. I am 8 days post op and things are still wonky in that area, try taking some milk of magnesia or colace.
  4. I figured mushies were to let our stomachs heal after being messed with much like liquids were meant to give it time to heal.
  5. Thanks. I seem to be tolerating it well. No nausea or throwing up. Got a little too full last night and was uncomfortable but stopped and stood up and walked around.
  6. I was very suprised too and asked the nurse like a dozen times if she was sure it was ok. Although I have been taking it pretty slow. Thicker yogurts, mashed potatoes, the ground up rib , for dinner I had a small piece of cornbread that I made mushy with white chicken chili blended and thinned to a broth consistency. The dietician said 1 week to 10 days full liquids and then onto soft foods. My surgeon and his RN said full liquids the first 3 days then move into thicker and thicker foods and then mushies at day 7-14 and I will get a fill day 18. Then after the three days of liquids and softs I will transition to normal food.
  7. Thanks mis. I am beating myself up for being hungry! I am so glad I only have 10 days to wait for a fill!!! I feel like such a jerk for not being more in control
  8. Getting a fill the 16th. I am hungry every 2 hours if I eat less then 1/2 cup. Guess I will just suck it up . Don't want to dilate my pouch
  9. Started mushies yesterday and am finding I can eat 1/2 to 3/4 cup without a problem. I have an 11 cc band but have nothing in it. Is it unusual to be able to eat this much 7 days post op and not feel and restriction? First 3-4 days I could only eat a couple tablespoons of liquids.
  10. I was doing way better on day 5 and then I was stupid and pulled a muscle near my port. Feeling a little sore still on day 7 but thinking tomorrow I should be pretty much back to normal (barring any more dumb ideas)
  11. We have 18+ inches right now and it's still snowing.
  12. I meant to say I am craving *protein* not preteen. That would be super creepy. Dumb fat fingers
  13. I was told coffee is fine it's the creamer, sugar, bento caramel white chocolate extra whip extra fat drinks that they want me to stay away from.
  14. I was just relived my doc progressed me to mushies. This was a separate measure as we have a total blizzard here in Wyoming and I can't get out of the house to buy any groceries.
  15. I am craving preteen so much one week post op that I blended up a left over rib in my ninja. Looks awful, tastes amazing with a little mashed potatoes. :-)
  16. My docs RN said to take it easy but that things are really sewn in good so she doubts I tore my port out. Probably just pulled a small internal stitch or a muscle
  17. Still pretty tender today. Especially when bending over or walking when my tummy jiggles. Gonna call the doc. Just hoping they don't have me drive the 4 hours there to get it checked.
  18. This incision is a small one a little ways away from my port. I am gonna see how I feel in the morning before I call my surgeon since he is 4 hours away.
  19. I am 5 days post op and went to lead youth group tonight. We were sitting on the floor and I went to get up and felt an immediate sharp pain under one of my smaller incisions. It's still there although not as sharp unless I kinda strain my stomach. I have stri strips and don't see any blood or anything but it's uncomfortable feeling. Hoping I just pulled a muscle and didn't mess anything up. Anyone else had this sharp pain?
  20. Finding myself drinking a lot faster and more then 1 oz every 10-15 minutes. I am hoping I haven't messed my pouch up.
  21. I am going to start slow with Greek yogurt and thicker soups. Going to make a batch of chicken chili and blend the heck out of it so it's really smooth and pretty thin.
  22. Got my staples pulled, have lost 3.8 lbs since Friday and 12 since Thursday. Very happy! My docs RN said that I could advance my diet early towards soft foods, gonna work on cottage cheese in a couple days. She also said to call the week of the 16th if I was getting hungry and she would fill me early. Love her!
