  1. What I thought was hunger was really just all the gas floating around inside. Once I go it all out along with my first bm, haven't felt it since. Today is day post op day 4 for me.
  2. I too couldn't keep anything down the first day. The Dr finally gave me a steroid shot to bring down the sleeve swelling. Made a huge difference too.
  3. Claire, got any updates for us?
  4. How's everyone doing today? Pain is getting worse today, accompanied by nausea. My sleeve was so swollen that I had to get a steroid shot in the tummy, and they also gave me couple IV shots of the rx ibuprofen. Brought that swelling down enough so I could drink and not wretch. Getting released today, and can't wait to get to my own beds and to see my kids again.
  5. Has mine done the 22nd. First day n night sucked...I had tons of nausea. I'd dry heave at anything I tried to sip. So surgeon gave me a steroid shot, after seeing my leak test showed there was so much swelling of my sleeve. Soon as I got that in, sipping was better for sure. I'm super tired and finally have all the gas making its way out both ways. Anyone else here have the super noisy gurgles? Their so loud...and nurse told me that what I'm feeling like hunger pangs, is really just everything restarting after the surgery.
  6. Call and ask for different or more nausea meds. I'm currently being given 3 different anti nausea meds.. Just to be able to keep the liquids down.
  7. My dr gave me a steroid shotgun help bring the swelling down. I wasn't able to keep Water down due to the swelling. Today feeling much better. I've been walking all over and passed my leak test! I've got diluted apple juice now!
  8. I've had nausea since coming out of surgery, and dry heaving galore. Nurses let me have ice chips last night. Thankful for that. Today feeling better...but my eyes just aren't able to focus on much. How are today Bonbon?
  9. Yeah, I have really struggled with get anything down. I've also had the dry heaves and nausea. They have me on 3anti nausea meds. Plus the dilladid is not working.
  10. My bag is packed now, getting ready to take kids to school and then it's hospital time. Anyone else telling themselves that this is sort of a vacation?! Lol..I'm a stay at home mom that works at the apt complex we live in. So, I rarely get a vacation. Just hope I don't turn into a hormonal hot mess in the next few days!
  11. Thank you Claire! Hope your feeling good today!
  12. Just go on an all liquid high protein diet now. All protein shakes, no solids. That will get the pounds off.
  13. Meals..wow! Mine was 5 shake per day..that was it. Did it for 15 days. First 5 days sucked, but made it threw and didn't slip or cheat once.
  14. Days 3-5 were the worst for me. I did 15 days of just shakes.
  15. I'm liquid only today after 15 days of shakes only. Juice, Gatorade and Powerade are old. Not into the broth, so I'm just trying to drink water for now. My list was basic..water, plain coffee/tea, sf jello, Gatorade/Powerade, and broth. My papers said the dairy and solids and semi solids need to be avoided.
  16. For real?? The surgeon said it would be way easier than my hysterectomy. 24 hours from right now I will be sleeved as well!
  17. Prayers and healing white light being sent your way! I will be joining you on the losers bench tomorrow. Update us when you are able too!
  18. I haven't packed yet. Woke up today feeling that things just got real..and since I'm Clear liquids only today, I am hungry. The juice. Powerade and gatorade just are not helping. Going to be a long day I think. Anyone that gets sleeved, update us when you can!
  19. Lots of hugs and prayers for todays sleevers! I am officially nervous now today. Update when you can!
  20. Oh no!! I used to live off midol when I had cramps. Or else aleve would help but that's also out. Hot pad maybe??
  21. Bonnie, why are you in pain? From the fries or other issues? Tylenol doesn't work for you?
  22. So, I'm curious, my surgery packet says I can have Gatorade up to 4 hours before surgery. Anyone else told this? I'm thinking it may be because I'm not having my surgery until 1 in the afternoon.
  23. My name is Kelly and I'm on the 22nd at 1pm. I totally will not be sad to see the last thick vanilla or choclate shake go down tonight. I've made it 15 freaking days..no slips and Ive been making my family dinner each night, and lunch some days. A lot of food has passed threw my hands. Various smells have dirven me crazy..garlic, cheese, chili dog casarole..to name a few. What we have ALL achieved up to this point is awesome and nothing short of amazing! Lets find a way to be nice to ourselves for a treat before we all go in to the hospital this week! For me, I got my old laptop working again so that I can have one last hot bath for a few weeks. I like to watch a movie or show while I'm in there..so that will be my be nice to myself for all the willpower and hard work it took to make it to this point! This post is my first time using this site while using a real pc! Ive never seen half of this stuff!
