  1. 5.0junkie - you can always try calling your doctor and asking if you can try more? Tell them you are ready and hungry...
  2. its not the best choice but i was out with my boyfriend over the weekend who was starving so we pulled into a jack-in-the-box. They have blueberry oatmeal! it was delicious!
  3. do you have any fill in your band?
  4. try putting more protein powder in your soup, shake... I have moved on to some regular foods. Scrambled eggs are awesome!
  5. All of you have VERY valid points. I just think it's time to change the way we look at the scale... It has always been our enemy. We are always waiting for it to turn on us....lol. With the band, we can start believing more in ourselves and not putting our trust in that scale and it's stupid numbers. I'm going to try trusting my doctor and my boyfriend and give it a few weeks of only weighing on Friday to see how it goes...
  6. I wish I could get my fill that fast! I think I will shoot for Nov 1st. Way to go! Keep up the good work!
  7. I had a rant today about getting on that scale every day to see what you weight and wrote a whole blog post about it. Please read and give me your thoughts... http://www.debbieposton.com/scale-intervention/?fb_source=pubv1
  8. I met with my doctor on friday, I lost 10 lbs post op. confessed that Ive tried mashed potatoes and sugar free pudding and even some grilled salmon with the mashed potatoes but only about 2 oz. I had no effects. It seems I can eat with little issue as long as I keep within the 6 oz portion. I even tried a piece of whole wheat toast today with jam. had no problem. The doctor says as long as i have no issue then i can move towards solid food but to stay away from dry meats like chicken, pork and beef for another week. I seem to be recovering faster than most. I can drink 10-16 oz with no problems so getting my protein is not a problem. If i can do solid food for a full week then I can get my 1st fill early instead of waiting 4 more weeks. He says just call if i think i'm ready and i can be brought in early in a couple of weeks. I think that is good news. I feel cheated that I'm not getting any restriction or side effects from anything I try...
  9. yes, heating pad = good! I am off work in 7 minutes and headed home until Monday. I also have a recliner there calling my name...lol
  10. Really? so the gasX is for the rumbling not the pain from the left over gas in your torso? I get to see my doctor tomorrow. I can't wait to get these steri strips off... Good luck with work tomorrow! Go slow and if you sit at a desk, don't sit for too long without getting up and walking a bit. I had to learn the hard way...lol
  11. My doctor says the gasX or other over-the-counter gas meds will not really help since the gas is not running through your intestinal track but is literally in between your organs. The only real way to deal with it is the heating pad, pain meds, and walk, walk, walk. I wish I had better news...sorry
  12. It does get better. It's been 1 week for me and I'm starting to feel somewhat better. I even went for a nice walk yesterday.
  13. Carrie.. I am feeling the same way. I can drink 10-12 oz of fluid in no time. I feel no restrictions. I even ate a small bowl of oatmeal today..chewing completely before swallowing and still nothing. I'm having the same fear as u...I think I will call dr tomorrow to understand. ..
  14. I've lost 10 lbs in 7 days! However, decided I've been pushing myself too much so I stayed home from work today. Going to take it easy today. I was more tired yesterday than over the weekend. I'm getting enough protein so figured it was time for a rest. I'm so ready for mushies. I meet with my dr on fri so I will ask. I've been blending soups, yogurt, n cottage chease and having no problems. I can even drink 10-12 oz in about 20 min. So I think I'm ready...
  15. Went to work again today - maxi dress and overthrow this time. no more bra and pants...they hit 2 of my incisions. They really hurt about 2 hours before I got off work yesterday. Going to be smarter today. I am off Friday, so I just have to get thru today, tomorrow and Thursday. I think I can do it
  16. I read somewhere someone goes to taco bell and gets a chicken soft taco and a side of refried beans, smooshes up the refried beans with the guts of the soft taco (throwing away the shell). Supposed to be delicious! Can't wait until I can get to mushies. I have to wait until 10/13...grrr
  17. I'm with carrie.0508, I was also banded on friday. I'm doing thicker liquids now like yogurt and pudding and even some blended oatmeal with no issues. I have no fill in my band so I think most of it goes right thru.. Carrie, I too get that grumbly feeling in my tummy and even after I've eaten something so maybe it is gas. I know I can drink up to 10 oz of liquid with no problem within about 20 minutes.
  18. The tasteless Protein Powder. I put 1 - 2 scoops in almost anything liquid that I take in. 2 scoops in a 10 oz glass of crystal light = 12 g. 2 scoops in a 10 oz glass of watered down apple juice is 13 g. 2 scoops of protein = 12 g. so I can add that to anything... It changes the way the drink looks but not how it tastes. http://www.debbieposton.com/leaving-the-house-for-the-1st-time-eating-out/
  19. Good luck to you both who are having surgery today! You will do fine! I managed to get up and go to work today. Sitting at my desk now (thank goodness I have an office job!). I have officially lost 8.4 lbs since Thursday! I did not expect this much weight loss and I am getting 100 grams of protein a day. I hope this keeps up! However, my stomach did growl twice yesterday so I think I'm waiting too long to eat something... I need to work on scheduling better.... My pants are sitting right across my belly button which is quite bruised from that incision so it hurts the most but not so much I can't handle it...let's see how the day goes...
  20. are you getting enough protein? I am putting tasteless protein powder in my apple juice and crystal light. It really does add up!
  21. 3rd day out - Ive lost 5 lbs in 4 days. Had no pain meds today and went to a memorial service and drive thru Red Rock outside Las Vegas. I think I am ready to go to work tomorrow.
  22. I'm so excited for you! It is so easy. Good luck!
  23. Well 3rd day post-op, had my apple juice with 2 scoops of protein powder n now I'm not ready for breakfast. I get to have a protein shake with pureed fruit or yogurt n pureed fruit. I was so looking forward to it...in 30 min I guess....lol On a positive. I have lost 5 lbs in 4 days
  24. Mine is on my left side a few inches below my breast but not at my waist
