  1. My doctor has approved me for stage 4 foods as long as I'm having no problems. Nothing is bothering me. I can even eat a piece of toast with no problems. He says as long as I follow the portion rules and listen to my body so I don't over-eat, I can go ahead and try most foods. I'm to stay away from rice, pasta, and tough meats like chicken, pork, and beef still...
  2. How do you learn to listed to your body?
  3. well keep us updated on how you are doing...I am hoping you get there soon!
  4. I had problems with breathing, still a slight issue, I think it is caused by eating. At least that's when I notice it the most.
  5. Ok, so I was banded 2 weeks ago and not scheduled for my 1st fill until 10/31. My problem is chocolate! chocolate has always been my problem...grrr I follow all the rules, Protein and Water in the morning 1st thing! lots of protein! I get on average of 120 gm of protein a day. I know I need a fill because I think about food a lot and I do not stay full for more than a couple hrs. But the big problem started yesterday. I want chocolate!! I ate 1 small, bite-size, 3 musketeers and it was heaven! However, I didn't get this band to destroy all my efforts because I can't control my urges for chocolate. Someone, anyone, have any suggestions for ways to curb this craving?

  7. That actually sounds good! I don't think egg will hurt you at this point but way to stick to the rules!! I haven't been able to..been way too hungry.
  8. Please be careful! You are still healing. I am 14 days out of surgery and just this week started walking. Doing 2 miles a day. As far as your weight loss, I get my scale back tomorrow from my boyfriend who confiscated it for the week so I will see how much if anything I have lost this week. My appetite is back also and I am able to eat just able anything I want. I had a bit of trouble with some dry Salmon & green Beans last night and had to slow down. Thought I was going to vomit but didn't... I had lost 11 lbs as of Monday but I think about food all day! I follow all the rules about Protein in the morning and Water and still by 10am I am thinking about something else to eat... I get my 1st fill on 10/31 - I sure hope it helps. Keep me updated on how your fill goes...
  9. thank you for this post - I have my 1st fill scheduled for 10/31 and was wondering how bad it would be! It doesn't sound so bad...
  10. Tuna definitely helped today! I boiled some eggs last night and mixed that in with the tuna with 1 tbl sp Light mayo and 1 tsp sweet relish. It totals 233 calories, and 29 gm protein. I ate at 12:30. It is now 3pm and I am still full. Let's hope it lasts another couple hrs...
  11. I am a self pay and only the 1st 3 fills are covered under my plan so I've already expressed to my doctor that I want to try to dial in to the green zone within the least amt of fills possible so I am hoping the 1st fill will be the main one. Then we will go from there.
  12. I am scheduled for my 1st fill on Halloween...10/31/13...wonder if i should be superstitious...lol
  13. temptation is definitely tough at the moment...tuna it is tomorrow!
  14. let me know how that goes? how much you are able to eat?
  15. if i measure out the progresso soup it comes to 2 cups but that is the broth and all. I'm thinking maybe the broth is helping wash it down faster? Maybe I should try something more solid - I think I will try some tuna for lunch tomorrow and see how that goes...
  16. wow, see i knew i was able to eat too much! I'm eating slow and still able to eat more than I thought I would be able to. Not as much as I used to be able to but more than I expected...
  17. I wish i was lucky enough to be satisfied. i drink all the water i'm supposed to have and get all the protein I need and still I'm able to eat more at eat meal than I am comfortable with. Today for lunch, I ate a whole can of light progresso soup...same as yesterday. 1 can equals 2 Cups of soup. It's only 220 calories and 14 g. of protein but I was able to eat all of eat with no uncomfortable feeling so I called the doctor to see if we could up my appointment. I hope I feel more after the 1st fill...
  18. YAY, my doctor agreed to let me have my 1st fill on Oct 31st. I only have to wait 3 weeks. I've been really worried that I can eat whatever I want. I'm glad I won't have so much time to wait - it gives me too much time to develop bad habits...
  19. Great words to remember for when i start getting my fills. I am looking forward to the 1st one but also worried so slower is always better.
  20. Protein and exercise. If you're not already doing it, write down the protein and calories you are taking in so you can get an idea of how close you are to the 80-100 grams of protein you need. Also, I've noticed since I started walking that I'm feeling a bit more energy. I'm only walking 20 minutes in the evening but it has to start somewhere right?
  21. YES! Hair loss is not an option for me either! I will do whatever it takes...no matter the taste!
  22. Vida - i agree with 5.0junkie. my shake in the morning with the extra protein seems to hold me until about 10:30am when I have my yogurt and fruit. Wishing you the best for tomorrow!
  23. I put a scoop of protein powder in almost anything liquid it helps. but when I eat soup or yogurt. I eat a 1/2 C yogurt with pureed fruit in it. I've been drinking 2 C of progresso Light soup at lunch...no issues. As long as it is a liquid, your band will not be hurt by liquids. You should call your doctor and ask if you can have more? tell him/her it is not enough...
  24. yes! this is where it gets tricky until we get our 1st fill. I've been able to eat most things I've tried with no problems so far. I do go slow and don't eat much of anything but it seems like I should be punished for eating salmon when i should be having a protein shake. I want to feel that restriction so the next 4 weeks are worrying me a bit...
  25. OMG! that would be like taking an alcoholic into a liquor store!! Not sure I could do it just yet...Good for you for staying strong!
