So close felling excited but not looking forward to drinking the magnesium of citrate... I think I may be my Doctors first robot assisted Gastric bypass patient... But I'm very confident everything will go well!

I found my favorite Strawberry and Cream from Costco, it's premier protein shakes. But it's thinner then most pre made drinks I've tried... Well stocked up on protein! Hoping not to lose lots of hair!

Protein shakes! Costco got a new flavor, strawberries and cream...I love it not as thick as chocolate and vanilla! I also bought chicken, fish, chicken stock, sugar free Popsicles and Jello fruit and veggies.

You should be fine, some pre-op diets allow food. I didn't have a pre-op liquid diet until day before surgery. They just told me to not eat fast food or fatty foods or red meat. I just have to make sure and have protein supplements.

48 hours till check in at hospital!

I know the feeling, my tentative surgery date was Jan 24th then the insurance wanted more documentation, then the next available date was February 11th but I had something going on... then the doctor had something going on and I got a Feb 28th date then started pre-op diet got call reschedule to March 3rd. As anxious as I was it goes by pretty quick now all my labs are done and Monday morning I go under at 7:30am!! My surgeon is now starting to use the robot for robotic assisted surgery. So the wait may have benefitted me! Uh I'm so disappointed... Instead of a march date that I expected my dr is going on vacation so my surgery date is April 8 7:30am. I was told to stop the liquid diet but continue to eat high protein low carbs and losing weight then I have to restart a week before the surgery. The wait is killing me!!

Just got my surgery time scheduled!! I have to be at the hospital @ 5:30am on March 3rd surgery at 7:30 am! I didn't have to do the full two week preop diet just no fast food, fried foods, and no red meat...protein, protein, protein... 4 more days!

Wow! What is so special about those drinks? He must have stock in them... Lol

I'm mixing Almond roca Torani sugar free syrup with vanilla protein add some decaf coffee and ice...Yumm! They have so many sugar free flavors, I have to see what other combo I can mix!

I was told my bmi had to be over 35 at day of surgery so I have been stressing on this.... Do they weigh you with clothes on? Gown? I'm hoping to be ok and not get sent home:/ I should be on my preop diet but I've just been drinking the protein to build up protein levels cause I'm hoping not to lose too much hair! But I will start my diet tomorrow. One week to go!

@ pre-op appt now!!! March 3rd... After a jam 24th tentative date insurance didn't approve on time, then I had a mini getaway and scheduled for 2/28, then Dr reschedule for 3/3... Countdown begins...

I seem to think the problem come from not follow diet eating and drinking things was are not suppose to have like carbonated drinks and other things that cause the ulcers???

What is robot assisted surgery?? Tell me more please! They told me it is much more precise less chance of leakage and less wear on Surgeon, newer technology many hospital are introducing. My niece had a robot assisted Hysterectomy and did fine. But my Dr is starting to offer them. I had a choice.

Boo!! I just got a call and my surgery has been changed to March 3..,just three days later but know I will be having a robot assisted surgery.

Don't give up. Stay on top of it, call to speak to her supervisor or the dr.

Do you have any regrets? I will be getting the RNY with the silastic ring.

At my pre-op the Nurse that worked for the hospital said some insurance will deny your surgery at the date of surgery if you don't meet the above 35 bmi and the insurance person at my Dr office told me the max I could lose to be ok

Thanks! I needed to know that about the protein grams absorption per feeding But what's your source? my preo-p class RD spoke on Protein drinks that contain 20 to 25 gr protein the premix at costco have 30 he said they would be ok but I've heard some have like 60 gr
