  1. I am right there with you!! Right now about the only way I can tell I actually have the band is when I bend over and feel my port!! I've lost 17 lbs since my preop diet and surgery (7-25-13). I'm trying to be upbeat about it but man do I feel like I should have lost more. *sigh*
  2. What a great job you've done!!!!
  3. The chicken is good but the instructions say you can't mix it in hot Water and it is a bit too cool for my tastes since you use tepid water.
  4. The premier protein aren't too bad..I had similar experience with all the sweet stuff..hard to get down after about five days! I wasn't allowed anything but liquids..no veggies! The isopure drinks are palatable but pricey. Unjury chicken soup wasn't bad either, but you may not have time to order them. Hang in there as this will be over soon.
  5. What an awesome job you've done!! You look wonderful!!
  6. I think that disclosure is a personal thing. I've told people and my family and friends know. I don't think there is anything wrong with not telling people however! Most of us have been plagued with weight issues our entire lives and don't want or need outside input to our decisions! And at the end of the day, the band doesn't lose the weight WE do!
  7. Just sharing my thoughts...first time traveling since I got my band just after 2 weeks. Hard to be around everyone snacking! I brought some food but couldn't possibly bring enough for three days so now I have to figure out how to get what I can eat. I didn't drive and I'm visiting my sister who lives out in the country so it's tricky! Not looking for answers just sharing with my fellow bandsters cause I know you'll understand! Going to my nieces wedding reception tonight and that will be another temptation but I'm afraid of straying from my diet so I know I'll behave! Just frustrating.
  8. I was scheduled for my first fill August 20 and was a little concerned because I have to fly to Vegas six days later for a conference. I read from some on here that flying and traveling can cause the band to tighten. Just got off phone with doc office and they rescheduled fill till after trip. Nurse said, yes it can affect the band, so just thought I'd pass this info on!
  9. Best of luck to you and pray you heal well
  10. My doc provided list of best supplements and recommended chewable multi..I purchased online and it was very reasonable!
  11. You should research how you can actually die due to sleep apnea! I had to get one and have just had to deal with getting used to it! My hubby is also sleeping much better now too.
  12. Question for those banded travelers!!!! I'm getting my first fill August 20..(surgery date was July 25). I am going to be flying 6 days after my fill and will be at a conference for three days. It makes perfect sense that altitude can cause tightness..should I postpone my fill till I get back in case I have any issues? I plan on calling doc office in the morning but would appreciate your feedback!! Thanks!!
  13. Ok..tried to figure it out..but couldn't...what is NSV?
  14. Normal to hit those..I have found that if I increase my fat a bit that can get the scale moving again. You have done a fabulous job already and your body is just readjusting!
  15. Congrats to you!! Your hard work has paid off!
  16. Very normal to have second thoughts! But this surgery is NOT the lazy way out!! I wish I had done mine sooner as it has given me the confidence to know I will succeed this time! I'm 47 and spent way too many years battling my weight!! But at the end of the day you have to decide what is best for YOU!! This forum is a great support and you will not be alone! But this does take a serious commitment and having the support of my family has seriously helped. Show hubby this site and let him see what to expect! Good luck and we are here if you need us!
