    Any other September 2013 bandsters?

hey y'all! want some good news? my surgery was Sept.4th and I can honestly say it was the easiest surgery I've ever had. The only problem I had was the nausea from the anesthesia, but as soon as it was gone, I was back to myself! seriously, I never needed pain medication, the soreness was comparable to doing too many situps or crunches. the surface muscles were sore but not my guts lol. I never slept in a recliner. I never needed help getting up and down or in and out of bed. it was so much easier than I had worried about. today was my first follow up appt and everything is healing perfectly and im doing just what im supposed to do. I have gotten hungry about every 3 hours but I focus on my protein and keep mushies available..the rest is a no brainer! im looking forward to my first fill Oct.7th so some of my hunger will go away I have 3 or 4 coworkers that all are being banded in September and those of us that have had the surgery already have had similar stories. easier than what we had anticipated! so, all of u that are.waiting on surgery, truthfully....it will be great...no worries! attitude is everything with healing. stay positive!

    Any other September 2013 bandsters?

I was banded Wednesday and I am home, happy and healthy! I can only describe my pain as soreness like I've done a lot of sirups. I haven't needed any pain meds at all. good luck to the rest of you September bandsters
  3. I know now what hunger pains are vs head hungry like everyone has talked about. I had a new grandbaby on day 1, so my first few days have been spent with tons of family and friends planning where to eat next! I packed my slimfast shakes and canned soup and made it just fine...no meals for me.... I think the next 7 days will be a little easier, it seems to be getting better each day. I will be banded on September 4th and it truly can't get here fast enough! its hard to get your protein and carbs with no solid food allowed LOL!

    The pre-op diet

my first question is when is your surgery? my surgery will be Sept 4th and my dietician put me on a diet to start the discipline process. then....10 days before my band, I will be on a liquid diet. the liquid diet will also carry over to the post op diet. I have lost 16 pounds so far doing my pre op diet-diet.
  12. im so excited. it has been a long process, but worth it! I have already started my pre op diet so I can get used to the change LOL. (I don't want a fatty liver LOL) any advise would be greatly appreciated!!
