Self paid Bandsters, what other expenses might I have beside the surgery.
Did any of you have any other expenses after surgery? I plan on financing the surgery, because my insurance does not cover WLS. So besides the surgery, I would like to hear what else you were charged or billed for. I want to make sure this is something I can afford. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

You look great! And I am sure you feel even better! Congratulations.- Getting cold feet! Surgery date July 24th
Thank you. Yes, I am taking it seriously. I have read all the material from the doctors office. That is why when people on this site ask what they should be drinking or eating after surgery, I'm shocked! I'm like WTH didn't you read your material? .. The lap band will not be free for me though, my insurance denied the surgery. I am going to finance it myself.- 1st Day Back at work - 10 Days Post Op
Congratulations!! I am so happy for you.- I have been banded for 6 years..ugh..
Did you have any weight loss success with the band though? And if so have you been able to keep off the weight for the last six years? I’m just curious because I am still deciding on whether to get the Band or not. Thank you. Any information will be appreciated.- Getting cold feet! Surgery date July 24th
I was having second thoughts too about having the surgery. I was scheduled for surgery on the 25th of this month and I cancelled it. I plan on working on myself for the next 6 months and reading up more on the Lap Band. I have no regrets on my decision. I know some people will be upset with me for not going through with it, but oh well. I want to make sure this procedure is going to be right for me. I know it is not going to be a quick fix; it is not going to help me stop eating. It is a tool that is going to help me feel satisfied. I am still going to have to watch what I eat and count calories. Even with the lap band I am not guaranteed weight loss… Don't feel rushed into making a decision. You can always reschedule your surgery. That is how I came to my final decision. Good Luck. Your weight loss has inspired me!!- 1 year bandiversary, 110 pounds gone!
- 100 lbs lost!!
Congratulations! That's great!- Advice needed: when someone you love tells someone else abt your band
I have told everyone at work about my upcoming LB surgery. I am not ashamed about needing help with my weight loss. Some of my coworkers and family are going to start the preop liquid diet with me on the 11th. Im sure they'll be watching what I am eating, and that is ok. I will need all the support I can get.- More than a cup or 4oz
Thanks for posting the link. It explains so much. It is all about self control, even with the lapband. I am getting myself mentally ready. I am getting baned on the 25th of this month. - 70lbs down, 100 more to go...
