My 6 week follow up.
Just had my 6 week follow up. Everything is working perfect & I am ahead of schedule. No need for a fill. So it's been 4 weeks since I last saw the Doc & I been trying new/different foods to see what I can tolerate on the solid food phase. Everything I tried has been no problem, I can consume about 4-5oz of protein followed by a cup of vegetables and I am very satisfied (Not full or stuffed) for at least 4-5 hours. My average loss per week since being on solid foods is 2.5lbs. If I eat to fast or swallow to big I have a heartburn feeling that passes within in a minute, & my body tells me when to stop ( I either sigh or hiccup ). No BPing or vomiting what so ever. Can only imagine how much I'll lose when I go back to the gym! Oh, yeah....Im also sleeping better & my blood pressure went from a consistent 120/80 to 107/60 !!! I am so happy that I had this done!!!!

Heartburn... maybe?
Sounds like you might have eaten to fast or to big. I think it's the band your feeling then it passes through.

Are there certain over the counter medications you are not allowed to take anymore due to having the lap band? Can you take Advil, Tylenol ,ect....? How about decongestants? What about prescription drugs , Percocet, muscle relaxers, or any other prescriptions?

Soft Food Phase
Just had my 2 week post-op and............................The doc was extremely happy! I stuck to the recommended program to a T and have lost 26 lbs. I was never hungry at all for the 2 weeks of full liquid diet. I am now cleared to exercise more (still have to watch the heavy lifting for another week) and I am able to move on to the Soft Food Phase! So, here is my question for you all........ What foods do you recommend/like on this phase?

Pre-op diet
My pre-op was only 1 day. Funny how different doctors have different guidelines. Maybe it goes by individual?

HI all ! Banded 6/11/13
New Whey Liquid Protein is also good to get. 42g of protein in 3.8 ounces. You can usually find them at GNC or WalMart. You must get in your protein & these are great way to get your daily grams worth.

Just looking at a bunch of topics & it seems like most people are constipated after their surgery. Does any one have the reverse affects like having the runs ?

HI all ! Banded 6/11/13
Thank you, Best advise is follow your doctors orders & go slow, dont rush anything. Then again Im newly banded , so still learning a lot myself. Also, get use to Isopure, it kinds dehydrates your mouth but excellent for protein during the clear liquid phase.

HI all ! Banded 6/11/13
Well I finally got banded ! Funny part was I wasn't "Big" enough for the surgery even though Im a big guy. However since I have such severe sleep apnea I qualify! Im hoping it can cure my sleep apnea & if I can loose a little weight in the process it a win-win!!! It's is almost a week after being banded & I feel just fine. I had no complications after the surgery & was feeling real great after 2 days! I been doing the phase 2 for a few days & dont feel hungry at all, I am really surprised by that. Anyway, Things are going great & already have lost 18 pounds.
