  1. Banded 7/3. Feeling good. Still slight discomfort at port site. On solid foods per doctor and feeling good. Down 17 pounds
  2. How do you eat so little calories and still get all your protein in?
  3. I am 12 days post op and feel great. My hunger is little and seems at a normal level. I am eating the number of calories and Protein. I am wondering if I even need to do a fill. Thoughts? Christy
  4. I was banded on July third and have lost about eight pounds. I was put on solids a lot faster than most of you. Considering that is about two pounds a week I am happy with my weight loss. I know I am in this for the long haul. Like my husband says. You didn't put it on overnight so it isn't going to come off overnight. Also I am almost 47. My weight loss is going to be slower than someone I. Their twenties or thirties so I am content. Christy
  5. I am still getting twinges of pain near the port site. It is definitely not visibly infected. Did anyone else still have pain after over a week ? Christy
  6. I am five days post op and am experiencing dizziness. Is this normal?
  7. Day four post op for me. Banded July third. Feeling a lot better this morning. Still hoping for real food soon but hunger has not been overwhelming. My biggest issue is port site pain but have been sleeping in my own bed. I even made my own bed this morning. I thought I would be feeling more like myself but feel lucky seeing as I am 46 and just went thru major surgery. Best thing is that from the beginning of preop diet to today I am down 13 pounds. Started out at 260 and scale said 247 this morning. Yay. Hope my fellow Fourth of July week banders are doing just as well if not better
  8. Congratulations. Good luck in your recovery
  9. Good luck today. My prayers are with you
  10. I am three days post op and drank some coffee this morning. It was delish. Feeling much better today and was able to sleep in my bed last night instead of the recliner. Very little gas pain. Most of my pain has been at the port site but heating pad has helped the most with that
  11. For those of you who take medications crush all your meds before taking them or did you just take the pills whole? I have been cheating and just swallowing my pills.
  12. Hey Maggie. I'm one of ur twinsies. Glad you are feeling well. Make sure you have a pillow for your ride home. It help me with the seatbelt and bumps. Hope your drive is safe. I have had minimal gas pain but lots of port pain how about you? Christy
  13. Major pain at port side. Hurts when I cough. I had to sleep in recliner with a heating pad. Drank almost an entire blue raspberry isopire last night to keep my strength up. Been drinking iced tea after nasty liquid lortab. Hurts more than I expected at port site and less due to gas pains. Sipping some hot tea now. Thinking about how to get up and go potty
  14. I was cut in five places as well. No nausea. Lots of pain at the port side. Lortab and ice has helped. Forcing myself to move around
  15. Just got my band this morning and they plan on sending me home around three
  16. I am officially banded Yay! Eating ice chips and prepping for my barium swallow. Already went pee. I just have pain at my port site otherwise I am great!! I am so happy. Thanks for the prayers and wishes all.
  17. I sit here all freshly clean stomach scrubbed with special sponge in a maxi dress ( to protect my sutures) ready to go. Waaaay too early at 4:45 when I have to be at hospital at 6:00 AM. It's only a twenty minute drive to the hospital. My husband went back to sleep but I am afraid to. My dogs can't figure out why the heck I am up so early. I am terrified and excited at the same time. Looks like I have to crush all my medications myself because Walgreens won't compound them which I am not happy about. I am afraid I won't be able to keep them down when I have to take them. So many trepidations yet I go forth. I will write back later when I wake up Christy in tallahassee fl
  18. Thanks for that idea. I have a great massage therapist who also does lymphatic releases
  19. I am one day pre op and my stomach is growling away
  20. Got the gas x strips I in my bag. Thanks
  21. Any last minute advice for me? Something I should pack?
  22. Have u tried runny cream of wheat or oatmeal or grits? In my book from my class it lists those items for the stage your at. Good luck sweetie. We are here for u. I am banded tomorrow so I will be where u r next week.
  23. Now I am worried because my surgery is tomorrow. I had my preop last week and he seemed happy with my six pound now seven pound weight loss. My liver can't be that bad cause I just had recent blood work done and my liver function is normal. I was on the right shakes and everything. I even used the ketosis strips to make sure I was burning
  24. Mine is tomorrow and I am freaking out wondering how I am going to concentrate at work today. I have only lost seven pounds which is less than nut said to lose by surgery. Hope they don't reject me
  25. I did go to bed early those first few nights cause I was hungry lol. Come to think of it
