  1. Thanks Sandy, it looks like you are doing great already! WOW, good for you. This site is so awesome, just what I needed, I am so glad that I found it! THANKS!!
  2. I wish you the best! I am in the same boat as you are. My consult is April 9th. I am nervous, excited, worried and everything in between! I know this is what I need to make my life better and healthier. I think by looking around this site and reading the posts help alot. There is alot of information here and alot of really nice people.
  3. You are so right on about everything! I too have and can lose but can't maintain and each time I lose, I regain much more!! You are also right on about thehealth issues, I know that my body can't handle another diet and regain. I am at about 270 at a small frame, I am only about 5'2"(BMI is at 48.8), I already suffer from enough health issues and I hope that if I can do this then I will start to feel better in many ways! Thanks for the pep talk, you are right! Best of luck to you on the 9th, I will be thinking about you!
  4. THANKS everyone, some days I am so excited and can't wait to begin my journey and then others I question wether this is the right thing to do. It sounds easy enough, but I wonder if I will be disciplined enough to follow the "rules"??? I am so happy that I found this site, everyone is so informative and soooo nice!! I love it!! Thanks again and I will be around to let everyone know what happens???? Good luck to all
  5. Hi GR8, I am just going in for my consultation on the 9th, I wish I was geting banded then. I'm afraid I might chicken out??? I have failed at weight loss attempts sooooo many times! Good luck to you, I'll be looking for your posts!
  6. Hi HelenC, If I make it, I will be having Dr. Kirshenbaum do it in Colorado, I have heard that he charges $9950 covering eveything, even the first three months of aftercare (fills)?? I live so close to his office. I did consider having it done in Mexico until I heard about Dr. K. Do you know how long I would need to return for the fills? Are fills like every month or two for the rest of your life?
  7. Hi Robert, I too have not been banded, just made my consult appointment. Sorry, I don't know anything about grants, I am going to to self pay. I am also a novice at the discussion forum. I hope you find what you are looking for. Just wanted to say "hi"
  8. Hey Tater Bug, I just got up enough nerve and I called Dr. K's and I have my consult April 9th!
  9. Hi everyone, I just made the call and have my consultation, April 9th. I have been going back and forth so many times with the decision wether or not to get the surgery. I came close to getting the Gastric Bypass surgery about five years ago but I chickened out, then my insurance would have paid for everything, now I will have to do self pay. My biggest concern is that this will again be one of the many, many, many weight loss strategies that I have falied at. I don't have faith in myself that I will be able to do what I am supposed to do and that I will fail at this too and not to mention the financial loss this would be if I did! I have read alot on this site and it sounds like everyone has such great success. I hope I can handle it!!:phanvan
