Subscribed Threads Issue
Using the ios app. When I get a notification of an update to a subscribed thread, I click the thread and it looks like I'm at the page with the first unread message. However, the content is actually page 1. To get to the real page with the unread content (say page 7), I have to click another page link (doesn't matter which) and then click back to the page with the actual new content. I hope that makes sense.

Post this in the Assistance forum which is at the very bottom of the forum list and they will sort it out. I bet it is because you changed your name on here and maybe it got confused.

Suggestion for the vets forum
Oh well. I'm coming up on 6 months and was looking forward to chatting with the vets because I have a hard time identifying anywhere else on the forums. I guess i will have to wait another 6 months to do anything but listen in. I read the vet forum religiously already. Oops sorry I didn't realize this was a zombie thread. Is the vet forum 6 months or a year then? *confused*

Pin a thread, and edit an old thread
That will be fine.

Anyone Have A Relatively Easy Recovery Story?
Bump just because this is a great thread!

Anyone have skin issues?
Maybe hormones. Proactive is salicylic acid (aspirin) in a solution. It is hard on non-adolescent skin. I would consider seeing a dermatologist. If you are older than your 20s, your skin is getting more and more delicate and you don't want to damage it. For now I would consider a gentle cleanser like Aveeno or Phisoderm, maybe more than once a day. Make sure you use a moisturizer. A night cream (which is a bit richer) may actually help, because sometimes when the skin is oily it is overcompensating for needing more moisture. Make sure any moisturizer or cream is high quality and noncomedogenic (won't clog pores) and make sure your day moisturizer has SPF 15 or higher.

Not losing anymore
Did you keep your ovaries? If not, your body is in a panic. You and your doctor will take some time to get your hormones stable. I had a total hysterectomy three years ago due to uterine cancer. If you have hyst questions feel free to reach out to me. I've lost over 60 pounds since my sleeve surgery, all of it post-hysterectomy. I expect to lose almost 40 more. It won't derail you. It will just take time.

Pin a thread, and edit an old thread
Bump. Not urgent but that thread isn't pinned anymore and I can't edit it again. This is low priority as I know you're busy.

Breakky dumps! ????????????
I wanted to bump this again. I'm still having diarrhea but we have narrowed down the cause. There is something called bile acid diarrhea, which happens if your gallbladder isn't working right and dumps too much bile into your intestines. This can also happen if your gallbladder is removed. Ironically I have my gallbladder, but it is causing (other) problems and I need to have it removed. The treatment for bile acid diarrhea is a medication called Questran, which binds with the extra bile and makes it inactive. It comes in a powder that you dissolve in half a cup of Water and chug down. It's not the most pleasant thing but it stops the diarrhea in its tracks. It's cheap too because it is a pretty old medication. It is a prescription. There are a few other medications that do the same job but Questran seems to be the most common. This is actually not the primary use of Questran. It is mostly used to lower cholesterol. So if you have had all the other tests done and still have diarrhea, or if you don't have your gallbladder and you are getting diarrhea, consider this. I have been dealing with this for almost 6 months now and I'm so relieved to have found a solution. It is possible I will be stuck with this forever after I have my gallbladder removed, but it is easy to control with the Questran.

Going To Pages 2-? Of A Thread
This seems to be fixed now. Thanks!

Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?
Way to go, everyone! I missed one run this week due to a gallbladder attack and I now need to have my gallbladder removed. I hope I can get it done next week but I will probably miss another run or two. It doesn't matter though. I will be back to three times a week as soon as I can!

Going To Pages 2-? Of A Thread
Ok it seems like I can get to some pages but it varies per thread and I can't get to the last page or on long ones, the last few sometimes. I bet the database is still syncing. Please don't take this as a complaint. I've maintained sites like this before and can't stomach the people who complain about something they get for free and you spend hours on!

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
I can't get to the last few pages of the thread in the new app yet but I think I can post. I have to have my gallbladder removed and my sleeve surgeon Reza Adib will be doing it. I meet with him Monday and I hope he can do it soon so I don't have another attack and I can heal before my next trip to India in December. I hope everyone else is doing well!

Going To Pages 2-? Of A Thread

I have oodles of stones and sludge in my gallbladder according to my scan. Hopefully back to the GP tomorrow to see what the next step is. Target seems to be discontinuing the $20 jeans I've been living in. I went today and bought size 14 (new current size) and 12 (next size) for $8 each! I guess I can spring for the $49 jeans when I hit 10.

You look amazing, Bec! I had a gallbladder attack yesterday afternoon and it was a bad one. I'm still sore. Went to the GP today and ordered an ultrasound and some bloodwork. I wonder if the gallbladder is also causing my diarrhea. I am sort of hoping they will want to remove it even though I don't have time for a surgery right now! In good news, I will probably get to my surgeon's goal by my 6-month mark on 14 Nov. Hard to believe I went on holiday and lost almost 3 kg! I'm 4 kg away now.- Really weird belly-button problem..somethings strange since post op 4months ago
I got it before surgery because I was so fat the skin kind of closed up my belly button. It was always a yeast infection. No problems post-op but I have lost a good deal.- Attention ! Australian Sleevers
I finally had the follow-up with the gastro Doctor about the endoscopy and colonoscopy I had before my holiday to try to see why I have had diarrhea for 5+ months. I don't have celiac disease. I'm not lactose intolerant. I don't have anything physically wrong with my stomach or guts except I still have evidence of reflux so I probably need to take nexium forever. So we are going with the hypothesis that my digestion is happening too quickly and releasing bile directly into my intestines. This is called bile acid diarrhea and is not too unusual. The doctor put me on something called Questran, which is a cholesterol lowering drug. It binds to excess bile and makes it "neutral" somehow. That's how it lowers cholesterol. I don't have high cholesterol but apparently it will still absorb the bile and might give me some relief. It is a sachet I have to dissolve in half a cup of Water so I am nervous it will be gross, but if I can get some relief I will put up with it! We will give it 6 weeks and see how I go. At least it's cheap! $36 for two months worth.- Enabling
To me the most harmful part of those threads is the way people say they were "naughty" or "bad" or "a rebel", but they wear it like a badge of honor. They aren't really ashamed and they aren't really going to change their behavior. They treat it like its cute or funny. It's not cute or funny. It's life or death and that's why we had a drastic surgery and permanently changed our anatomy. This is serious stuff and is so much more important than chewing up a Doritos and spitting it out.- Attention ! Australian Sleevers
Looking good Lissa! We are back home! It was a bit of a stressful morning as my husband woke up vomiting at 4:30 am. He had some leftovers for lunch that I warned him against and he paid the price, poor thing. So I packed everything f up this morning and I unpacked everything when we got home so he could rest. We are back to work tomorrow after our glorious holiday! Thankfully the only incident was that one at the end.- Just putting it out there, so 'dirty' little secrets may see the light of day!
Why do people say they are "bad" or "naughty" like its titillating or sexy when it's just a choice you are making? Nobody is going to "punish" you. You're not a child. You made a choice and you get to choose what to do next. Does it help you to feel guilty or to put a moral cost on it? It never helped me.- Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?
I finished the Couch to 10k! In 14 weeks I went from running for one minute straight to running for 60 minutes straight! I went from a total distance of 1.5 km in a workout to 8.7. I'm still "obese" so if you are thinking you can't do it? Think again. Next goal is to get to 10k distance. I will keep adding 5 minutes a week until I do. Then I will work on speed to trim the minutes back off. - Attention ! Australian Sleevers
