  5. What are your circumstances? If you don't mind me asking
  6. United healthcare/tricare
  7. Well, my Insurance won't cover the sleeve for me. They will only cover gastric bypass, lapband, or stomach stapling. I am so bummed right now. I go to meet with the surgeon on June 12th to see what is best for me but I do NOT want gastric bypass. Looks like I may have to go with the band. The only way they will pay for the sleeve is if I need a revision after the band. Not cool!
  8. Anyone have their surgery paid for by Tricare?
  9. I just got referred to Dr Todd at Alaska Bariatric Center and was wondering if anyone knows anything about him?
  10. I'm preop but I have to take nexium everyday now for the rest of my life so it wouldn't bother me! I just want to be healthy and stay that way!

  12. So, since we are all similar in beginning size. Does anyone mind talking about extra skin? I was wondering how bad it was and if how fast you lose the weight effects the amount of extra skin

  18. Thank you! I thought it was lower too but that is what the dr told me (44). Have you had your surgery yet? I will keep everyone updated on my process.
  19. Hi, I was wondering who here had similar stats to mine. I am 31 5'6.5", 257lbs BMI ~44. I just started my journey and have my first NUT appt. May 6. I am an active person and enjoy running outside but have problems with my diet (obviously) so was looking for a permanent solution to help me stay at a healthy weight. I would love to hear about your journey and see pics, especially those that have similar stats to mine. Hopefully by the end of this year, since I have to do 6 months of NUT appts., I will have my surgery and join these success stories!
  20. Hey, everyone. I just submitted my WLS application last week and I put that I wanted the band but now I want the sleeve. Will I have to submit a new application??? Or will I be able to make the final decision on which procedure after I meet with the surgeon??
  21. Thanks everyone. I will talk to my insurance and find out. I don't have a copay normally.
  22. I was just wondering if insurance pays for all of the fills if they pay for the initial surgery. I have Tricare/United Military insurance
