  1. I'm not much of a computer wiz. I'll try to figure out how to find the May forums and meet you there. I'm still trying to figure out how to add friends
  2. Your just down the road. I'm in Haslet next to Saginaw.
  3. That's great. I tried to go through them first but they did not take my insurance. Well, good luck. I'll be curious to see how things go after your surgery. I'm so excited for you.
  4. Do you mind if I ask where your getting your surgery done? I'm getting mine done at Bariatric Solutions out of Decatur I believe, the surgery is at Wise Regional in Decatur.
  5. I'm in Fort Worth, Texas. Having surgery in May. Wondering if anyone is around me.
  6. Yes I'm getting banded the 28th of May. I' concerned now though my Dr. called, and it looks like I need another mammogram. I'm worried about that but also something getting in the way with my being banded. Good luck on yours. P.S. I just noticed, is that a Texas flag behind you in your pic? I was just wondering I live in Fort Worth, Texas. I was looking for some support around me.
  7. My husband was wondering if there was anything he should be aware of, looking for,or doing after the surgery. Aside from support is there anything he should know. He is concerned about when he should know when to take me to the emergency room  , and what to expect in general. Thanks
  8. Yes,I am a "mature" student as well. I've just started though. My surgery is in May, and I can't imagine going to school and dealing with the band at the same time, in the beginning anyway. I'm having a hard enough time waiting on my surgery and going to school right now with finals and all, it has been affecting me. I could have had my surgery during spring break, but I decided that wasn't enough time off. I'm going to take summer one off so I'll have a month or so till I have to go back. I hope that will be enough time to adjust. Good luck with everything.
  9. What is lapband with plications?
  10. Try Glamorise Bras. I am a 46F and I love their bras, they don't ride up on me, they are comfortable, and love the support. I know they have some sport bras.
  11. Thanks for all the replies. I guess I'll just take things one day at a time ,and follow the rules as I go.
  12. When I was looking for a group online. I signed up for one and found out later that it was an Australian group, I should have known by the kg instead of lbs, but I am not that familiar with the internet and groups and everything. Anyway, when I was there I was reading a lot of post about dieting and people not losing weight. I didn't think the lap band was about fad dieting. I know we are suppose to eat healthy, but they were talking about no carbs, red zone, and different things like that. These people either were a few months in or were at 90% of there weight loss. I can do fad diets without the band, and I already have problems with my metabolism. I don't want to get the band and still be struggling with diets and not being able to lose weight. I hope I made myself clear. Like I said I'm new to this and nervous, I'm more of a phone person myself, but I need to do this for the support. I don't know anyone at all who has or is having this done. This has made nervous about having the lap band though. I hope someone can help clear this up, so I can understand better. Stephanie
  13. Thanks for all the feedback. This seems like it is going to be a great group.
  14. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Stephanie and I'm 47 yrs old. Scheduled to get my lapband May 28th with Dr. Stowers. My weight is 275 and my goal is 150. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions in the near future. Right now I'm just seeing if I can get any weight off on my own at first. Well wish me luck and thanks for listening.
