  1. I had scrambled eggs and I was able to manage them just fine. I mushed them a little bit. I'd suggest the first time you try some food you take 1-2 bites then wait a good 10 minutes to see how you are handling it. Call and ask your surgeon too. Scrambled eggs were so helpful to me the first few days!
  2. SueBee- the egg sandwich you list sounds yummy I will have to try that in a couple weeks. Not ready for the bread yet! I do really enjoy oatmeal with fruit. One of my favorites and it keeps you full! The Kashi has 9 grams of protein. Their creamy cereals are good too!
  3. You look fabulous! congratulations!!!
  4. You should probably call your doctor and ask the nurse- she/he might be able to help you or they can speak to the doctor. I know that my port is sensitive but I was banded two weeks ago.
  5. I was banded 4/29 and it took me a full 9 days before I was back at work and feeling better. The best thing that everyone says is true, lots of walking. Don't sit for too long, keep getting up to walk a little bit and keep yourself hydrated.
  6. hmmmm...what are you eating/drinking? any sort of exercise?
  7. Thanks! I'll give it a look too!
  8. How do people tolerate coffee? I haven't had any since I've been banded.
  9. wonder if I could handle a pancake occasionally just for something different with some light syrup.
  10. That naked smoothie looks different! I might have to try that. Thanks! I like oatmeal and used to eat it before the band. Haven't tried it yet, but I hope to soon!
  11. That sounds like a great omeltte, I do like eggs so I'll have to try it! Thanks!
  12. Hi everyone, Starting out now slowly on real foods. My doctor told me that he wants me to eat mushy foods and some solid foolds to see how I do with them. I'm torn on what to eat for Breakfast. Any ideas?
  13. I took a week off from work and then extended it another 2 days. Then I was fine going back.
  14. Just thought I'd give a quick update here...Today it has been two weeks since my surgery. I have my 2 week update later this afternoon with my surgeon. My incisions seem to be healing well. I've lost 30 pounds and I'm feeling good. I try to work through that gas the best that I can...ugh that can be painful! But I've been walking and walking and drinking a tea at night that has been really helping to push things through! I've had scrambled eggs to eat, Protein shakes, unsweetened tea, lots of Water, SF Popsicles and a little bit of mashed sweet Potatoes. Wonder if I'll be able to add anything else into my diet after seeing him today...guess I'll find out.
  15. Hi- I have Atena. I was banded 4/29. Go to your primary doctor and ask them to write a letter showing your weight for the past 2-3 years. That is what my surgeon's office had me do and that was submitted with my other requirements to Atena. I had tried all of the dieting crap, WW, jenny craig, etc but didn't have a "record" of them. But my primary doctor did give the letter with a two year weight history and stated that he believed I was a great candidate for Lap Band. I got approved in 3 days after all the paperwork was submitted from my surgeon's office.
  16. those are great!!! LOL!!! I know it's amazin how much we now can't wait for the gas to just let go!!!!!!
  17. ugh, I'm in the same boat. Banded 4/29 and yesterday and today has been the worst and most painful it has been to date. I'm taking Gas X now and it made me burp a few times....I'm walking and walking...it's really painful. It's brought me to tears last night and today.
  18. You guys have your hands full!
  19. 5 days into my post-op my surgeon told me to try a scrambled egg, eat it slow and see how I handle a couple bites...it was heavenly! I was banded 4/29...getting there!
