Questions about mushy stage

Hi, I'm new here and I am 8 days post op. I was told by my surgeon to start mushy food around the 22nd. So heres a bunch of questions:

Some people eat fish. Am I supposed to puree this or are they soft enough on their own? I also notice people eat refried Beans and I know for a fact those can be very thick. Is that okay or am I supposed to mix it with liquid and make it thinner? One more thing, I absolutely love eggs but I see mixed feelings on whether or not they belong to the mushy stage and I'm really hoping someone can tell me if they do fit in.

Also, am I supposed to have 4 oz of food with each meal? Am I still supposed to regularly drink liquid around these times? How many meals a day? 3 or 4?

I just want some reccomendations, I feel a little lost sometimes. :)

I had scrambled eggs and I was able to manage them just fine. I mushed them a little bit. I'd suggest the first time you try some food you take 1-2 bites then wait a good 10 minutes to see how you are handling it. Call and ask your surgeon too. Scrambled eggs were so helpful to me the first few days!

I pureed most things. Mac&cheese, sweet potatoes & red beans&rice. Only with the mac did I have to ADD anything (1/2c of hot milk) everything else blended down fine on its own. I believe ppl are blending the refried beans.

Thank you both for replying! I'm going to call up and ask about consistency because I want to make sure I get that right.
