  1. So I'm drinking these Protein shakes for 2 meals a day and yesterday my stomach was upset all day. This morning (day 3) I can barely stomach the thought of having one for Breakfast. Has anyone else had a problem with the shakes making them sick? I'm drinking a whey isolate shake if that makes a difference.
  2. An egd is the scope of your upper gi tract. I had one too. It's really nothing. They knock you out and it feels like you wake up a few minutes later. There was no pain or anything other than the air they put in your belly. It's not a big deal at all. You'll be fine!
  3. Good luck! You will do great!
  4. That's a good idea because you're right 5 pounds doesn't seem like much until you feel it and think wow that's not on my body anymore! I told my husband to hide the scale so I would t drive myself crazy weighing every day. Guess he forgot!
  5. Ok so I know it's inaccurate to weigh every day because it fluctuates but after day one of pre op diet I had to see, and I lost 5 freaking pounds! Even if its gonna fluctuate that made me so happy to see its been a while that I haven't been bouncing from 276-280. Now I'm at 269! Woo hoo! Sorry had I share my excitement lol
  6. Does anyone else use this? I've used it in the past but never stuck to it. I really want to keep up with it this time and I think if I have friends on there that will help. If you use it add me, username is callie_henry
  7. I don't know how you guys are doing it with only liquids. Although I will say once my lunch protein shake kicked in I was feeling much better. I want to try doing all liquid one day but I've been moving all day so I need some energy if I'm gonna make it to the gym tonight!
  8. Yea I'm only about half way through day one, staying positive but I'm looking forward to my 3 oz chicken tonight! Lol
  9. I start my pre op diet tomorrow! I'm nervous, I hope I don't get too crazy. I'm so glad I found this forum, you guys are such a great support. I know I'm going to need it!
  10. Good luck tomorrow! You will do great!
  11. I have the same, after everything was submitted it took about a week to be approved, but they will tell you they have up to 30 days to make a decision.
  12. Does anyone have a goal of how much they want to lose on their pre op diet? I know everyone is different and every diet is different. Mine will be protein drinks and one small meal a day. I'm hoping to lose about 10 lbs a week so 20 total. Does this seem like a good goal? Just curious about what others think.
  13. Just think how AMAZING you are going to look on your birthday next year! I know it is hard now but think of all the things you have to look forward to in your future with your new body!
  14. May 13. I start my pre op diet Monday. I have already waned my husband and coworkers I will probably be terrible to be around for that time. I don't go to my dr until the 7th and ill try some of his shakes but since ill have a week on my own can anyone recommend any good shakes I could get at the store? Thanks good luck to all!
  15. I just got my surgery date, may 13th! I start my pre op diet this coming Monday. Anyone else having surgery that date? I'm super excited and nervous!
  16. Good luck! I can't wait to find out what my date is! I'm supposed I hear back this week!
  17. That's awesome that you two are doing it together. That will be a great support system. Good luck!
  18. What is everybody most nervous about? I know for me I'm worrying about making it through the 2 week pre op diet, but I know I can do it. I'm mostly scared that I'm gonna go through all this and not lose the weight. I know if I do what I'm supposed to this tool will help me, but there's still that fear of failure.
  19. Yea for my insurance I had to do 3 weight loss meetings, sleep study, which resulted in a Cpap machine, a psych eval, and an upper gi. So I had all that done already and I meet him the 7th. I don't think I should have any issues since I already completed all that. I'm in Webster so I picked him based on location, but my gastroenterologist said she knew him and he was great. I hope everything goes well for you! I'd like to keep in touch about your experience.
  20. Taylor1989 who is your surgeon? Mine is Dr. Hollis, I went through true results.
  21. I'm located in houston, tx.
  22. So I just got the call from my surgeons office I go in for my pre op group meeting on may 7. I'm waiting on a call from the person who sets up the surgery schedule to set my date. We're shooting for the week of may 13 which would mean I start my pre op diet next week! Ah it's all feeling real now! Anyone else getting banded around this time? I'd love to have someone on the same timeline as me to talk to! Good luck to all!
