Dont understand whats going on.
Do not worry. This is normal. At least to me. I had a breast reduction 2 years ago. I was crying so hard going into the operating room that I could not even talk. I can get teary knowing I have surgery this Friday. Never that I am having second thoughts, I think I just get over emotional. I was glad to hear that I will be given some "calming" medication to take en route to the clinic on Friday morning. All good, you will be successful if you put your mind to it!

Day 10 of my pre-op diet and I am surrounded by chocolate
I am not going to eat any. I know that. It is still hard, I am still hungry, tired and grumpy. We have had a guest all weekend and I have not fallen off the cart. I had a big plate of broccoli at the restaurant last night. It was kind of funny to see the look on the waitress's face when I asked for broccoli for my dinner. I hope the next 5 days go quick. C'mon April 5th, I am ready for the next step!

Kitchenette at work is full of yummy foods and desserts
I am pre-op, protein shakes 3x a day. No worries, I am commited. But I am also human. In the past, I would have been in and out of the kitchenette all afternoon filling my face........ I like your idea of snacks on hand. When I am post-op and on to solids, I will do just that! Thanks!

No Soda In 2 Weeks
Funny you should mention headaches. When I had my daughter, they buggered up my epidural, withdrawing some spinal fluid. The resulted in epidural headaches, I could not sit up in the bed. The nurses brought me a bottle of coke to ease the headache. It helped somewhat but another procedure was necessary to completely cure it. Good for you for kicking the habit! I am a Diet Pepsi lover but have not had one since Per-op diet started.

Back to work!!
Sorry to hear that Ginger and Aeromech. I was wondering if there was any correlation between a preop diet and the hunger you are both feeling. I am a pre-band so I cannot relate. But everything I read on here does tell me it will get better. Hang in there!

Good for you! As a fellow Canuck that is also self-pay, the cost is daunting. I can see you have come to the same decision as me-- You are worth it!! You must feel great, knowing that you have gotten yourself 1 step closer to your end goal. Woot! Woot!

Back to work!!
Can I ask did you both have to follow a 14 day pre-op diet? If so, what did it entail?

BMI 33, surgery scheduled for Wed, March 27
Good for you! You seem to have your head in the game and ready to go! I feel for you regarding pre-op. I am on day #5- 3 protein drinks and low glycemic veggies only. I also tossed the exercise out the window..I am too tired just going to work and chores around the house. Also being a self-pay, that is a huge motivator. Never in my life have I spent so much money on myself or my health! I wish you nothing but the best for tomorrow. Keep us posted!!
