Hello all..... slow loser here, but! Something kinda significant happened today...... I was upstairs, just out of the shower, in bra and panties--heard someone knocking at the door. Two able bodied people downstairs DO NOT MOVE to answer the door. So I am scrambling around for something to put on....and scurry down the stairs (what I wanted to wear was in the dryer). So I throw the shirt/jeans on as I zipped down the stairs, yanked open the door and there stood my bro-in-law. I haven't seen him in a few months and my DH has 6 brothers and lets just say, he is the least gross of the whole bunch (except my husband who I think was adopted since he is so different from the whole lot of 'em). We have a nice friendly relationship. He totally checked me out! And I watched him do it! And it was fun! I went back upstairs and finished what I was doing after I said hi and my husband finally figured out someone was at the door (duh....). I haven't been checked out in a loooooong time! (even if it was the bro in law--has to start somewhere, right?!) As a side note, DH tells me almost everyday that I look great, etc.. which is so nice, but it's nice when others notice, toooooooo.........

Well, I think I could fit into this group-- I am one year and two weeks out, 68 pounds gone---I wanted it to be all gone--all 100 pounds +. I was dreading my appt with my band surgeon yesterday--but frankly, he said he was delighted. He said he would have been happy with 50% weight loss after TWO years but was very pleased that I was there after just one. He reiterated that slow steady weight loss is the goal. I am slightly less enthusiastic about how things have gone, but I will take what I can get, I suppose. I am really trying to lose the rest of this weight by Christmas--then I can see how much abdominal plastic surgery I will need! xoxoxo Kimberly

I read this thread and couldn't reply. I have the ugliest, stretched out crazy looking Granny panties on the face of the earth. Went yesterday (behold the power of LBT board motivation!) and bought a bunch of cute panties--bright pink, plain boring white, flowers, polkadots.......hipster cuties! Thanks for making sure I am properly clothed in case of an accident!

Well, I am an idiot for not reading this thread carefully---yes, Anthony Hopkins is alive and well (however he never calls me --the jerk!). Even Lech Walensa is still alive....... Have to get thinking about who I think used to be hot and now, is, ummmm dearly departed.....

OK, I can fess up here-- I had the MOST EROTIC dream of my whole entire life--rolling around on the front yard at my mom's summer house (wierdly between the house and the boathouse) with......tadaaaaa! Lech Walensa. Yep, the Polish Solidarity Leader and I DID it!!!!! But if I had my choice of who I could do it with it would be Anthony Hopkins all night long...... Second choice would be old boyfriend who lives in Dallas--we NEVER did it, parted ways and when we met up again, via the internet, both wondered aloud about what might have been..... But that's another story! Lech Walensa is HOT! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Well, this has truly been the worst week of my life--there is another thread devoted to my despair, and in spite of the fact that I drank at least two bottles of wine a few nights ago and every dinner brought over by friends was lasagna, bread and salad--and more wine--I didn't really feel like eating, and it shows. Weight today 181.0 under bust 39 waist 38.5 hips 44 today my goal is to post my pre op photo and my "today look" kimberly

Hi All, I have read and re-read your posts over the past few days--all a blur of grief and mourning. Amazing support and I am over and over again blessed to be part of such a great group here at LBT. My brother's memorial was intense and beautiful. He had excellent life long friends, who all spoke at the service. His girlfriend of two years was in Australia on business when we got the terrible news, and immediatly flew home. Lots of other friends and family appeared out of no where. My parents live on a lake shore where our family has lived for more than 100 years. All the houses were re-opened (these are summer homes) and they were all full with my brothers friends. Local friends appeared with food to feed us all. The weather was, and still is amazing for this time of year--we were all in the boats and wakeboarding, which was my brothers passion. Besides BMW automobiles,---where he was employed as a client advisor on Wall Street in NYC. I left my parents alone tonight--they are exhausted and I think need time to be alone together. Thank you again, my far flung friends for your help during this terrible time. Here is a recent pix of him doing what he loved--wakeboarding. He was awesome.

I am so sorry to hear your sad news. I am still reeling from our family's loss of my brother and I feel your pain acutely. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I found it helpful to concentrate on 15 minutes at a time--like "if I can get thru the next 15 minutes" then when that time is up, just concentrate on getting thru the next 15. I can't imagine the pain of losing a parent. My heart breaks for you. xoxox Kimberly

Wow, you guys, I am just overwhelmed by all the responses. I just thought I would check in tonight--I took my parents to the cemetary today and made other arrangements and stuff I had to do. Made and received a gazillion phone calls--sooo nice to hear how many people loved my brother. He had lots of very devoted friends. Most are coming from all corners of the earth--one from Australia, one from Hong Kong and both coasts of the US. Mark lived in San Fran before moving to NYC. He was a semi pro wakeboarder, a dedicated and successful employee of BMW of Manhattan and made the world's best fajitas. His girlfriend is inconsolable and will arrive here on Wednesday pm with his ashes. I still can't believe it's happening. My parents are holding up as can be expected and their generation of friends have truly risen to the occaision and are a visible and active network of support. They have been invaluable to me--telling me what to do, etc. so things are done properly. I am warmed by my family and extended family and friend's many kindnesses and I feel very lucky to be a part of this great LBT community. Many thanks to you all. Kimberly

A thousand thank you's for all your support. I just got home after spending the day with my parents--took them to the funeral home to make arrangements--a scenario I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. It really warms my heart to know that you all care. We are in northern Wisconsin--on the border by Iron Mountain Michigan--and I appreciate all your offers to help. Nothing to do, really. My youngest brother (28 years old) was found dead in his own apartment in New York this evening. We all live in Wisconsin and don't have any details until my other brother gets there tomorrow morning. My family is devasated. My parents are just walking shells of who they once were. He was the baby of our family....fit, healthy, athletic, successful and happy. Makes no sense. I still can't even believe it. My heart is broken for all of us--we had a great relationship--daily chats on the computer-jokes and an interesting writer/editor relationship with some short stories he was writing. Painful, broken, and just devastated. Fine one minute, shocked disbelief, and crying the next. All we know is the police said no evidence of foul play/forced entry or suicide. Makes no sense. Makes no sense makes no sense.

My beginning "pre challenge" measurements are thus: Under bust-40 inches waist--40 inches Hips at the widest point--46 inches weight 192.5 ick ick ick even more motivated now! :cry

Thanks for responding to this thread. I know Oprah loves those Walcoal bras--they are about 60 bucks a pop--but I would spend that if they truly make that much difference! Hmmm, next time I go to the big city I will have to check them out! (PS loved that white skirt Oprah had on for that issue--sooo cute!)

I had a hysterectomy before being banded and was on a small dose of premarin. I battled HUGE waves of hot flashes when the weight started to come off. I told my doctor(not my surgeon, but my family doc) and she didn't say much, but then called me and said, "you need to increase your dose of premarin for a bit--estrogens are stored in fat, and since you have less fat now, that may be why you are having trouble". Probably not related to your cold issue, but sort of along the same whacked out thermostat line....

I just got this month's issue at the grocery store-- In the letters to the editor section, there is a photo of the last month's issue and there is an article called "O's Bra Bible". I really need some good supporting undies and would love to read this article. I am so flabby esp. around my middle, so I need one of those "all in one" foundation garments. Anyone know if these articles are avail online or does anyone have it? On the cover she has on a lime green seater and a white flippy skirt. the background for the cover is beige-y brown. Thanks!
